A very special flight was organized featuring "the strangest formation you'll ever love" featuring two Special Operations helicopters from the United States Army 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) and a North American B-25D Mitchell with a T-6 Texan as photo ship. A second "Boeing" flight was coordinated featuring the MH-47G Special Operations Chinook and a 1942 BOEING N2S-3 STEARMAN. The PIC of the Chinook is actually the owner of the Stearman ("404"), making the flight even more special.
From John Sessions of Historic Flight Foundation:
The reason we flew the B-25 with the Night Stalkers is that unit was one of four from which Doolittle received Raiders in 1942. To this day it is the only unit officially called "Raiders." The photography will be used throughout the Army for morale. Some of the participants will be redeployed to Afghanistan this weekend.
Stay tuned as I will also upload an unedited version with all the incredible thunder created by this incredible flight.

Excellent Video! Thank You!
Good to see the B25 can fly at a low enough speed for the helicopters to keep up LOL
So you owe that time frame
Beautifully done. What an experience!
The Blackhawk is such a beautiful machine, no doubt about it.
"Grumpy" is officially the oldest flying B-25 in the world, and is one hard-working Mitchell!
Great work! Glad you were there to capture the event.
Wonderful!
That actually gave me goose bumps. Very nice.
Thank you Daniel!
THAT was cool! You do such exciting and different videos. I never get
tired of watching. Great job, and of course- what awesome aircraft!! TFS
Excellent footage Jason!
Very unique I love it!!!
I bet that when those dudes went to flight school they never thought they would end up in the premier helicopter squadron, best in the world...and then to formation fly with a warbird like that....at Paine Field no less???
Dream come true, amazing stuff. Thanks for posting this video!!
Great Video 👍🇺🇸
Wicked job!!
That's too cool!
And over the two R-2600's and the rotor noise, you can hear HFF's T-6's R-1340 engine clear as a bell. Nice stuff! THANX
This was fabulous! Thanks for posting. SALUTE!
It's "Grumpy" from Historic Flight Foundation.
That was a great video, just awesome, I love military aircraft.
Beautiful restoration of a B-25D...not many "D"s flying these days.
... and for once it is "grandpa" the one who has to slow down for an anachronistic formation of this kind (see the Mitchell´s nose pointing slightly up) Impressive footage. My favorite star in this video: the B-25, without hesitation.
Thats what im talking bout right there!! #NSDQ
