This video hows you how to use /execute if score to detect scores/scoreboards in vanilla minecraft 1.16! Since the command revamp in minecraft 1.13 everything is a bit different. Learn how to match scores, detect the highest score, or get the winner of a game in minecraft! This is one of the most important minecraft commands for data packs/datapacks and minigame creating/mapmaking. This is related to the minecraft scoreboard command and the minecraft execute command in 1.16 and 1.16.3. Hopefully this will help you learn how to make a minigame in minecraft or how to make a scoreboard. This isn't a scoreboard tutorial or an execute command tutorial but those do exist on this channel. Hopefully you enjoyed this minecraft command tutorial. ~12 time Fall Inna Hole world champion. - Игры
Perfect timing I was just doing /execute score matches and i only use matches because I am waiting for your tutorial
I've been searching for SO LONG on how to make it so that when the death count meets three you get stuck into spectator...This worked!!! Thank you so much!!!
Just discovered your channel and I love it already. This is my first video watched, but I'm sure the other videos are just as short, entertaining and informative! Keep it up
I've been getting into some pretty advanced mine craft commanding and your tutorials are by far the clearest, most concise, and easiest to follow! Great stuff
Plus he actually has a great personality and his voice undergoes tonal shifts during his monologue.
So I don't feel like as much of a nerd watching his videos ^^`
Thank god this channel exists dude; you make great content easy to learn and follow and get right to the good command stuff
yeah i figured this out on my own cuz he was no help at all, what a dumbass
OMG thank you so much, I genuinely was stressing out why I couldn't figure out my command "execute if @r score kill matches 1 run team join killer" or something like that, I had spent days searching the web and trying to figure it out. this video was so helpful and as I can see from the video itself I have much to learn and even after that ill still have more to learn, thanks for the content appreciate it.
These videos, and these videos alone, have enabled me to get into command blocks. And I've been wanting to do exactly that for *years* man. Thank you for these amazing tutorials.
Genuine thanks! This video is amazingly helpful, I love your tutorials!
Glad it was helpful!
Woah! Had no idea you could add the dots on the matches number to do that! Thanks a bunch, informative and straight to the point as always.
The most In depth, fun and amazing content. I wish he had more subscribers honestly

Great video! Hope you get to 100k
In bedrock/education edition you mast replace the IF statement with "scoreboard players test"
Underrated comment that makes the video irrelevant, thanks.
they just updated the bedrock's execute.
And it is similar to java's now
uhmm i am glad to say this but 1 year later you dont need to replace the IF it's just IF
Can you make a video about making blocks only breaking with a certain score?
This video was so helpful, every time I've made a game lol - TY!

Thanks for your kind words. I do have some great stuff coming, don't worry ;)
@@Legitimoose so I am trying to make a game, I have entity kills as our score and currency, trying to make it take points off that scoreboard if a person buys that button and it opens a door, I tried to modify this command to do that but I cannot seem to get it to work properly. since there is no test for anymore I am not used to this new system, what do you suggest? Your videos are super helpful, glad I found you man!
@@noah.j1775 Hey, not sure why you would reply to this 11 month old comment instead of just leaving a new one lol.
The general "theory" behind how you do that is to:
Detect the player who pressed the button. Then use /execute if score to check if they have enough money. If they do, run a function that opens the door (or something) and removes that amount of money from their score!
Hopefully you can take it from there, if you're stuck on the individual commands the quickest way to get answers is usually from a discord server (mine, or the r/minecraftcommands server are quite good).
Hope this helps!
Yo thanks!(even though I knew most of the things) I liked the video love your content!

Thanks man! Im new to your channel and you’re awesome! Ive really learned from you a lot ! Also can u teach how to make a new block with datapacks ? Thanks man
Hi, welcome to the legitimoose dimension! New blocks with datapacks hm? That's a good idea actually. I know there's already some tutorials out there for that, but adding my own to the mix couldn't hurt.👀
Very helpful, thank you
your tutorials are damn funny to watch !
You are the best mc youtuber because you saved my life 10 times LoL
how do you only have 400 subs these tutorials are amazing
😳 Thank you!
Bradley Austin yes indeed!

hey great video I'm building a mini game and can't figure out how to make players drop arrows on death can someone smarter than me help?
Not anymore
Awesome I used it so when i through a specific item it tp's me to my base and sets the scoreboard back to 0 for the next time. U earned a well diserved sub
Thank you, couldn't figure out the @a parts, kept trying if score and @a[limit=1]
Datapacks are definitely the way to go. I started off messing around with command blocks, but they quickly became obsolete with datapacks with introduced. I believe in Minecraft 1.13. I now use command blocks just to run simple tests in a test game. But that's about it. Typically it's to sort out the details for a larger custom function I plan to build or for debugging those functions if they aren't working properly. Command blocks can handle longer commands than the command line. So, they can be useful in a few cases. But I never use them in any of my regular games. Just for testing purposes.
I just made an entire datapack for my realm and the entire tick.mcfunction folder is /execute if score commands
this and the datapack tutorial were really useful!
earned a sub!
gentle, thank you
I LOVE UR VIDS SO MUCHH
AAAA THANK UUU
Thank god this is so good.
underrated youtuber 4 sure that sub counter should at least be 1000x more
slow 'n steady until a video from 6 years ago blows up and gets me to 6,000,000 subscribers overnight. ;)
thank you so much i am making a map and this helped :D
Thanks! :D
I also have a technique that allows me to do > 1 or any other check, by adding an another scoreboard called "Number", and adding 1 with a score of 1 so i can do /execute if score @s Test >= 1 Number
This man is so underrated, deserves a million subs.
thanks you!
Never thought simple commands like this will be complicated at the same time
Hey thanks for the help, but could you also show us the last command block for resetting the score in fall inna hole?
TYSM
I LOVE YR VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello! great tutorial, but I want to know if it is that with this tutorial, I can make a click detector to make an interactive menu? Thank you
Hi! Detecting clicks in vanilla is _notoriously_ difficult. There are some videos about it, but there's no _ideal_ solutions. For left clicking, you can really only detect hitting a mob, and for right clicking the easiest way is to detect when you click with a carrot on a stick. Both of those can be done with scoreboards, so yes, this could be useful!
Sadly there's no "click" scoreboard objective though, we're stuck with somewhat weird ways to do it. Good luck!
THANK YOU, THANK YOUUUU
Can /clone move the actual executing command block?
Like for example, teleport a player as well as the command block that held the code to teleport the player. Making a fast way to get home when exploring.
hey there, the first command block that you taught us how to use works perfectly, however im super confused on how to show the title only once, because the test constantly passes and therefore allows multiple title commands to go through which looks weird, how do i make it show the title only once
I have the same problem
These tutorials are really helpful! however, is there a way to detect any change in a player's score, and then execute a command once?
save what their score is at the end of each tick, then at the beginning of every tick check if it's still the same!
can i do this for a datapack? its just that i am trying to make it so when a player mines 50 stone and it shows it on the score board it summons a mob at that players postition. anyone know how i could do this?
Do you have any advice on how to give a player a potion effect when their totem gets used? :)
i was wondering how would you make it give an effect to a player only if they are at the top of the scoreboard
Now is there a way to detect if a score goes up by 1 and give a simple 1 tick(ish) output?
i was trying to make a carrot on a stick that creates a grenade and it has a cooldown and i did make it but it was glitchy but it was glitchy because i didn't watch the whole video so i didn't know about "matches"
I had a purchasable door in my minigame, and it didn't work because I didn't use matches X, thank you for this video!
bro tysm i was looking for a command to reset someone's score everytime they reach 1000
When i run the purple one it doesnt extend to the top of the chain it only does the first chain so when it reaches 5 score it does not stop
u change my life
how can i make it so if theres one person left in an area then something happens? im trying to make a tnt run minigame and when one person is left he gets sent to spawn and a message gets desplayed saying "you won"
this guy is great
Thanks
Any way to do this:
/execute if score *@a* matches 1 run something
I can only do it with one person and not with @a, so is there any workaround to check if everyone has the score 1 on a scoreboard?
cool vid, but you have a chain block say "title @s subtitle {"text":"You da winner!","color":"green"}"
after you change the first repeat block to have "execute as @a if score @s FallIn matches 5.." doesnt the chain block then stop working? or is there something im missing?
Nice tutorial, but how can i add two players score and if the addition of the 2 scores matches a certain number then it runs a command
Hi can I also execute a setblock at the location of someone dying? I made it so far that I can spwan a block at a set location, but not at the location of a player dying.
is it possible to do this and also run a command on the same line? im making a tp sign but i only want it to tp you if you have a certain score and merging data with blocks only works with like one command line
Anyone know if there's a way to use the matches for any multiple of a number instead of just that number?
for instance, I've got a scoreboard that acts as a timer and I want the command to go off every minute, so instead of putting a different command block to test for every minute up to an hour
[when the timer resets], I want one command block that will test for 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes etc.
Dude you are just AMAZING! HOW HAVE I LIVED WITHOUT THESE TUTORIALS
Thanks, glad you like them!
Is there any way to make an if with mutiple conditions? Like, if two scores met a certain condition (score A = 1 and score 2 = B then run this)?
Something I want to know is, how would you make a custom throwable for example, I'm trying to figure out a way to make 1 person have a lightning bolt throwable snowball for one person, and a fireball throwable snowball for another person. can anyone help me out here?
Dude I dont know if I did something wrong but @s wont detect ANYONE on the chain command blocks after the repeating command block and I am so confused.
Ik this tutorial is old and u prob wont respond but ive got a question, can you tell me how to make a command block that checks if i have 4 lives, and if i do then IF i kill a player i gain one live back? So from 4 to 5. Im making a custom 3rd life mechanic (you might not know what that is but that aint important) so i was wondering how i can do that, if you have a discord servee that would be awesome cuz i can ask in there
thanks
Can we make a command block chain that runs another command when our score change
i love you videos
i like it
hi, so i seem to have a command that works if it's impulse but not if it's repeating, it doesnt even work in tick.mcfunction in the data pack folder
execute at roowco1 if score @s in_lava matches 0 run effect give roowco1 fire_resistance 1 1 true
i know it works because i would set my score manually to 0 and then run that command, then it would give me fire resistance
if it helps to solve this conundrum, what i want to do is to have fire resistance when that score matches 0 but not when it matches 1 (execute at roowco1 unless score @s in_lava matches 1 run effect give roowco1 fire_resistance 1 1 true also doesnt work)
How do you make it execute not on a specific score, but executes a command when the score goes up/down by 1? For example, what if I want to /give something to someone if they die, or kill a mob.
idk
I had a problem where it just kept spamming the say command. And also, is there a way for the say command to only effect the player who has the specified score in the command block below? video was still helpful, thx a lot!
Maybe your command wasn't set to conditional, or the execute if was always successful?
If you want to only send a message to a certain player, you can use /tellraw! (You can find tutorials for it on this very channel if you like ;^)
Hope this helps!
Question: im making a mario kart, racing game. And you have to pass 3 checkpoints for the lap to count. (The first, the second, and then the finish line) how should i go about Doing this?
Alright 8 months ago but for everyone who still needs it:
Everytime someone passes a checkpoint, you add the person 1 point to a scoreboard
Then, at the end of the lap, execute a command, only if the person has 3 points on the scoreboard.
You can do
/execute *if* score @p [the scoreboard] matches 3 *run* something
If you want to do more laps, keep in mind that you have to also reset those points every lap
sadge.. working on mapmaking and later i encounter this vid talking how i should did command blocks on datapack when i almost finish the map..
Turned from how to use /execute if score to wow matches is kewl lets teach you that lol
Is there any way to run the command if someone gets +1 score in any other scoreboard?
hi ! i just wanna know why u did # winreq and not # lol or something like that and why that hashtag (the space is because if i didn't do that the message will be inverted
WinReq is just short for "Win Requirement"! The hashtag is to hide it from the sidebar :D
@@Legitimoose oh thx
omfg thank you for this video! I have been looking everywhere for a vid like this and almost gave up on a project because I couldn't find one. thank you again and yes, this video did fix my problem.
How do you make it so if your score is greater than anyone elses?
0:37 This moose is even legiter than Legitimoose!
i dont know if youll respond or not
