After finishing Nyakuza, I was thinking about trying Death Wish bosses again. Turns out the new DLC also nerfed a significant amount of Death Wish contracts. Some bosses became much easier - Ultra Snatcher's attacks became much less intense, for example. There's also some smaller changes in Directors and possibly Mafia fights. It's a shame, I think that they were alright before the nerfs. I hope someone makes a mod to bring back the old pre-nerf bosses.
Still, great job as always regardless of the nerf. Also yes I believe that someone is working on bringing back the pre-nerf ones. But I'm not entirely certain.
So we should just wait to finish seal the deal before buying Nyakuza dlc. I wish Gears for Breakfast would at least add some cheat that re-enables the old difficulty.
You know what I realized? Mustache Girl's second phase fight takes place inside one of the time pieces, the bottom of the time piece matches up perfectly with the floor.
For anyone curious the three main ways Ultra Snatcher was nerfed were 1. Red blasts from shockwaves were completely removed 2. His teleport attack no longer spawns shockwaves, only sawblades. 3. The amount of falling projectiles was heavily reduced. There may be more changes but these are the biggest ones I noticed.
More changes, which I saw here: 4) His Vertical Beams no longer spawns electric particles (which were pretty annoying in pre-nerf times). 5) Now, he no longer attack's same spot twice (Which were even more annoying, than spawning electric particles in, again, pre-nerf times (and whus, making No Hit run an almost impossible challenge at that time))...
If you interested, one person did "One Hit Hero" "Seal The Deal" Death Wish, in Pre-Nerf times. You can see it here: ruclips.net/video/adjTo0l15Vc/видео.html And as you can see in that video, Ultra Snatcher No Hit run was purely a Luck based. Because he had a extremely dangerous tendency of attacking the same spot twice, as well, as spamming projectiles all the time... But honestly, only Ultra Snatcher needed nerfs, all other Death Wish bosses were fine even without this nerf...

I have never played the pre-nerf death wish bosses but I would say the post nerf is a good difficulty for me at least from my experience. They were still pretty difficult.

It’s a shame there’s no Mafia Boss shockwave for Ultra Snatcher, it kinda nullified the whole “all bosses mixed into one” aspect of his attacks. At the very least if they wanted a nerf just remove 1 shockwave per eruption or something.

Yeah, agreed. I played both Death Wishes, pre and post-nerf. Mafia Boss EX is only _slightly_ easier now; I can't say for certain but I think the placement of falling sandbags, especially when the line of mafia men run at you, is much more comfortable to dodge. I didn't notice a significant difference when fighting the Duel Directors, they're still pecking difficult, lol! Mustache Girl EX didn't change whatsoever. Snatcher EX is the exact same. Although, I disagree about Ultra Snatcher. He was definitely harder than the EX version prenerf, but the pattern of attack was still exactly the same except with added features from the other boss battles. As far as I can tell, the nerf for this fight was removing the shockwave effect from Mafia Boss for each energy geyser, and the player is giver more opportunities to hit him. Maybe it's because I've already beat him both times, but as long as you still had at least two lives left before reaching Ultra Snatcher you could finish the Death Wish, even prenerf. I don't think the _nerf_ made him much easier.
You wot? Killing Two Birds sucked. I hated it so much I needed to download mods. Snatcher EX would've been fine if it didn't fricking lag my game, and Moustache Girl EX was... well... Moustache Girl EX. I can't speak for Ultra Snatcher cause I've never fought him.
the bosses pre nerf difficulty went from weakest to strongest: .Duo Directors (a joke if you can bait certain attacks well and have some patients) .Mustache Girl (literally identical apart from some faster attacks and no imunity phase 3) .Snatcher (basically small nerfs but generally still a cluster of insanity) .Mafia Boss (honestly needed the nerf) .Ultra Snatcher (while the nerf was 100% needed, i wish they kept his pre patch state as an optional mode that gave nothing as a reward and just solely there for the old challenge) I have beaten all pre patch bosses myself before (Snatcher took 17 goddamn hours on non stop grinding) to those who say Ultra Snatcher needed to be nerfed, i somewhat disagree, he was meant to be damn near impossible without really good skill, unfortunately he was made just a little too well
before the nerf a lot of them were half the time not reasonable to do no hit, and were in general ridiculously unfair, so I suppose you haven't really played them much before the nerf :)
Honestly, I would be interested in seeing Gellot(or anyone, really) speed running 100% death wish. What strats they'd use, what pathing... the raw skill, too.

The music for Mustache Girl was just so beyond crazy... I can imagine the devs being like "The fight is already a gigantic, hectic clusterfuck, so may as well use matching music for it"

I finally made it to Ultra Snatcher on my playthrough and realized that a lot of attacks were missing, I knew that they had nerfed Death Wish to certain degrees but I wasn't sure how much, so this was interesting to see. Some part of me is slightly disappointed that the fight was nerfed that much, but honestly at least I can be glad that it's not that much more difficult than regular Snatcher EX lmao. There's some hope for me completing it in less than 200 deaths LOL
the amount of drugs that you must be on to do something *beyond* insane is impressive, no joke Death Wise EX Bosses are probably some of the most difficult bosses to do damageless AND ability-less in gaming history (and yes i mean that, Death Wish was made to be damn near impossible with the sort of game AHiT is), *hats* off to you, this is a feat very few could ever pull off. (Shame we can't see the pre patch bosses, that'd be the apex of all challenges)

Death Wish Mafia Boss is deceptively dangerous. Even after watching all of the Gellot videos, he managed to kick my ass. Gellot makes him look easy; he's not: *During his main spin attack, there is a damaging hitbox on his hat, so simply being airborne isn't enough to dodge. You need to be near the peak of your jump *Sandbags damage you in midair, instead of only by landing on you. It's a distinction that sounds simple and harmless; it's not. Midair sandbags are a big no bueno zone *When he throws his knives, you need to learn to control where he lands. Or else he will control where he lands, and that is not a good time for you *Mafia Ball's hitbox can go to hell; I constantly find myself trapped inside that damn thing *Ultracharge and Megacharge separate the men from the boys I gotta say, when you compare story mode and death wish boss fights, whoever put together the boss fight heuristics knew what they were doing

There were 2 nerfs for u,tra snatcher I saw 1.the blue position attack no longer sends down time pieces 2. Teleport attack only spawn blue positions no longer slawblades
Nerfed, you say? Now it's doable for the run-of-the-mill masochist. Course, I demand a ULTRA HARD variant of these bosses, for those maniacs out there that don't feel punished enough. We're talking Parallel World level difficulty from Kirby Star Allies, if we're gonna use a comparison.
personally, the only boss I have major beef with is Snatcher-SP. he got stupidly overnerfed. and they didn't fix the issue that Plagues Mafioso-EX. RNG hell. sometimes, if the dice roll poorly, some attacks are simply unavoidable from where you are at the moment. I actually find dodging the Directors-EX's new sawblades (on the rafters) HARDER because of how slowly they come out, then they SLAM down without warning. the Grounded sawblades should have stayed as is.
So, dealing with slowly firing sets of 3 sawblades is easier than the entire floor covered in sawblades, making it so you have to basically stay in the air constantly? Makes sense.
It did. They made their sawblades attack in the bomb phase no different from their normal variants, slowed down the rate at which the disco balls fall, and I think slowed down the rate at which the knives are flung at you.
Oh they were tough alright, the Snatcher boss at the end was actually buffed really hard and exclusive to that boss rush level only. Also, the bosses didn't give as many health pons as they do post-nerf.
The only one I completed legit was Mafia Boss EX, which took me 29 attempts to do normally and another 130 attempts to no-hit. I was *gonna* do Killing Two Birds and Breaching The Contract without mods and whatnot, but... Killing Two Birds seemed completely unfair with their combos and sawblades. Breaching The Contract made my computer want to die. So I had no other choice. So, long story short, it sucked. Bad.
@@MrMega1423 I don't blame you, they were hard as hell. I was able to complete all of them with all bonuses (Except for the bullcrap second bonus on KTB) and Seal the Deal with no bonuses. If I had to say which was the hardest its definitely BTC because of the amount of projectiles he throws at you and lAg, KTB is hard but the easiest of the bunch because once you get the patterns you are 75% good. If you attempt any of the other bosses then good luck, I mean the nerf made them easier but they are still pretty challenging tbh.
I feel like some of the ex boss could’ve been harder like the mafia boss it felt the same difficulty as normal so I don’t really so a hard different also mustache girl felt quite similar I kinda wish those to got a big buff or nerf

1.the blue position attack no longer sends down time pieces
2. Teleport attack only spawn blue positions no longer slawblades

personally, the only boss I have major beef with is Snatcher-SP. he got stupidly overnerfed.
and they didn't fix the issue that Plagues Mafioso-EX. RNG hell. sometimes, if the dice roll poorly, some attacks are simply unavoidable from where you are at the moment.
I actually find dodging the Directors-EX's new sawblades (on the rafters) HARDER because of how slowly they come out, then they SLAM down without warning. the Grounded sawblades should have stayed as is.
So, dealing with slowly firing sets of 3 sawblades is easier than the entire floor covered in sawblades, making it so you have to basically stay in the air constantly?

It did. They made their sawblades attack in the bomb phase no different from their normal variants, slowed down the rate at which the disco balls fall, and I think slowed down the rate at which the knives are flung at you.

Oh they were tough alright, the Snatcher boss at the end was actually buffed really hard and exclusive to that boss rush level only. Also, the bosses didn't give as many health pons as they do post-nerf.
The only one I completed legit was Mafia Boss EX, which took me 29 attempts to do normally and another 130 attempts to no-hit. I was *gonna* do Killing Two Birds and Breaching The Contract without mods and whatnot, but...
Killing Two Birds seemed completely unfair with their combos and sawblades.
Breaching The Contract made my computer want to die.
So I had no other choice.
So, long story short, it sucked. Bad.
@@MrMega1423 I don't blame you, they were hard as hell. I was able to complete all of them with all bonuses (Except for the bullcrap second bonus on KTB) and Seal the Deal with no bonuses. If I had to say which was the hardest its definitely BTC because of the amount of projectiles he throws at you and lAg, KTB is hard but the easiest of the bunch because once you get the patterns you are 75% good. If you attempt any of the other bosses then good luck, I mean the nerf made them easier but they are still pretty challenging tbh.

I think gears for breakfast should’ve made a pre-nerf difficulty in the game when you finished all the contracts
