But the versions I’ve played on PS4 and Switch made it harder by adding many more P crows, ESPECIALLY around the Mafia guys, and they also got rid of the health pons.
@@DedicatedCaffeineUser I believe at the beginning the one hit hero badge was mandatory, and the 2nd bonus at the time was a 65 second time limit. Now this time bonus is ofc replaced with the 1 hit hero challenge. While the time bonus stamp wasn't all that bad, you can imagine killing the 6 hidden mafia with only 1 hitpoint was infuriatingly difficult.

God, Cruisin for a Bruisin was such hell, even worse since I actually really liked the original Ship Shape Wound-Up Windmill was actually pretty fun with the timestop hat, but yeah, I didn’t even TRY to do it without hats
I mostly agree, but imo, Security Breach is THE easiest death wish in the game, INCLUDING bonuses, since I literally beat this level and both bonuses on my second ever run.
It would be the death wish where you ahve to fight all the EX bosses in a row ending with SNATCHER EX + becuase it's the four hardest bosses in the game in a row if you die three times at any point you start over again with your health carrying from each battle and you probably get the point by now.
Cruising is really only so terrible because of remembering where to go on the ship it's tedious because you need to take out of the way and all over the place routes to get somewhere and when your carrying like 50 items at once your jumping becomes exceedingly difficult as your constantly drifting
Quality time with snatcher could be cheesed by bringing an apple from outside of the ring and bringing it in and throwing it against the outer border of the arena. Just standing on it causes you to avoid everything without getting hit. I’m not sure if it’s been patched out though. Been a while since I’ve tried.

something that makes quality time a lot easier is that when he spins his dwellers around you can actually stand right up to the pool that he's spinning from. there's no hitbox up there.
10 seconds until self destruct probably took me more attempts than every other deathwish combined. Barring the Mafia Boss, because one-hit heroing that fight is an utter nightmare.
As someone who experiences sensory overload pretty damn often, the stages that make things quicker or heighten the stress absolutely fuck with me. But don’t get me started on the boss fights, oh Jesus Christ the boss fights. I made it a challenge to beat them without turning off screen shake and it was fucking miserable. Killing Two Birds is a prime example, only damaging one director till the end of the fight was painful, because not only did I have to fight with the screen shake, The janky knives and the overall RNG Nature of the fight. I had to the fight THE FUCKING CAMERA. The amount of times where it would follow DJ Grooves or the conductor and put the other directly out of view of the camera was frustrating because I wouldn’t know what the attack was until it was either raw luck or rammed up my arse.
the thing about the windmill is i just slowly found ways to skip all the hardest parts, theres a really easy way to skip the entire 2nd floor (basically right next to the one you showed but much easier) then i kept dieing close to the end until i found a way to trick the game and respawn way higher up then where i was( but i guess thats not an option in 1 it hero
this video made me realise that excluding bosses there isnt much hard death wishes, i find first half of the list pretty easy, also there are few more skips in wound up windmill that makes you skip almost half of the level, so i think cruisin for bruisin is harder because there isnt any way to make it easier
I honestly think the "complete 40 tasks without missing one" challenge in Cruisin' for a Bruisin' is by far the most difficult non-boss challenge. Once you start getting 5+ tasks on screen on your screen at a time it becomes super easy to get overwhelm or even determine where you have to go next (not to mention the fact that you can barely go in a straight line if you have too many items on hand). Plus how easy/hard of a time you're going to have feels largely up to luck at times since you may get the tasks spawning super close or all the way on opposite ends of the map. Wound-up Windmill is still brutal if going for full completion, but at path ahead is always the same so its purely a matter of skill (that and there's plenty of ways to take shortcuts to reach the end).
Ironically did both missions on the ilness has speedrun on the first try. And also both missions on the security when I finally managed to beat it. The bird hell, full speed windmill hell and mustache hell are absolutely brutal
The one that gave me the most trouble was the Conductor+DJGrooves EX boss fight. Took me forever to get through this mess, I'm glad it has the best music in the game at least.
Im doing the windmill rn, since I really loved the normal windmill, I refused to use the time hat, but DAMN that shit is horrible Btw now that I know that it's "not using hat abilities" instead of "dont slow down the flow of time" Im probably gonna use it, but just on parts that I already figured out how to get through them
If the boss rush was included, then "Seal The Deal" would be the hardest of the hardest, because it is literally all the bosses at once. But still, Wound Up windmill is what makes the game so much harder, that even a intermediate like me can't make it through all 114 death wishes!
In wound up windmill there’s two skips The first is at the very start you kill the 5 crows and you jump to a spinning platform The second is you jump as the elevator reaches the top it slingshots you up and you land on a higher platform
Completing all 3 Security Breach challenges actually wasn't too difficult for me, although that might have something more to do with how many times I've had to help my siblings on the normal version of this level...
Randomly stumbled onto this video and was hit with a wave of Death Wish PTSD. Even then, i didn't complete the bonus objectives for most of them, using mod levels instead to reach the points to progress. The hardest for me was definitely the train, moustache gauntlet, the boss rush, and Snatcher and Moustache Girl EX fights. Weirdly enough I found Great Big Hootenany pretty easy, though again, i dont go for bonus objectives
Honestly security breach doesn’t belong here. It wasn’t even that much harder than the actual level. Most of the birds are added in areas you already had to avoid anyway, you just have to trek through differently. Worst case scenario you can use the Time stop hat in some areas if your timming is really bad. The last bonus is a lil tricky, but you can do it fairly ok with enough tries/patience. Edit: also hooternany should be lower. Yeah the dj grooves token bonus is so ridiculous its almost insulting the devs asked you to do it but, everything else is pretty easy. The band wont hit you as long as your moving.
Personally for me cruisin for a brusin was harder than windmill. While windmill requires near perfect play to get both bonuses. Crusin for a brusin requires not only skillful play, but also an insanely deep knowledge of this massive ship along with a fair bit of luck. Getting 40, and even 70 tasks is honestly easy, but completing all 40 tasks without missing a single one required absolute perfection. Still probably one of my favorite death wishes though, fight me.

You just need a good route, but it took me some attempts to actually find one -9: I can't really judge how difficult it is for others, because I've done a speedrun -8: Quality Time with Snatcher is extremely easy (I even survived 15 minutes once) -7: I agree -6: I agree, because it's not that hard, but really annoying -5: It's a lot of fun (But it is kinda hard with One-Hit Hero) -4: A longer line? Just take bigger circles. 3:01 Funny thing with the illness has speed run. When I finally cleared it I had less than a second left on the clock. My final time was like. 6 minutes and 59.9 seconds.
And honestly security breach was absolutely one of the easiest for me. I think im just a sucker for battle of the birds (Specifically the conductor lmao) and have spent way to long playing that chapter but its really easy to memorize the patterns
In terms of difficult/annoying contracts I beat almost every deathwish without peace and tranquility with the exceptions being the illness has speedrun and cruisin for a bruisin I will do them normally once day but today is *not* that day lmao
Tip for The Illness Has Speedrun: If you fall off, the game will respawn you right next to the ziplines. If you intentionally jump off after destroying the flowers you can get back to the main island noticably faster than if you ran down. That's what I did to the the bonuses.
so, funny story abt the great big hootenanny for me, after about 4 tries, I managed to get to the end where the prize was released. As I got to the time piece, I GRABBED IT... And the parade owls swarmed me. I died while picking the damn thing up. Sobbing. Edit: Finally did it aaaaahhhhh
I turned on easy mode and had a god mode badge mode on bc I wanted the snatcher skin and I knew I couldn't do it without it Edit: I found wound up windmill somewhat annoying and fun, considering I was just going for the main objective, I did it before I did the god mode stuff
10 seconds till self destruct is easy with the cheese, just play the level without the one hit badge until right before you hit the button put it on, the game only checks what you have on when you click the button, though I will admit doing it legit is difficult(the furthest I've gotten was the 3rd set of panels before the end, at 99x attempts) Bird sanctuary is easy if you take it slow, and with a couple skips, you can easily deal with the mafia by leadng the crows away then using the timestop hat to kill the mafia. You also don't even need to clear the stage for the mafia bonus to count. I did the one hit bonus 2nd try, but the mafia one took 43.
The Great Big Hootenanny is ACTUAL bullshit. Even with Peace and Tranquility on (Which as far as I can tell, just makes the penguins drop health more often whenever you aren't being tasked to press the buttons and I *think* it also lowers the number of owls following you to 20 [EDIT: No, it doesn't]) it doesn't change the fact that you're trying to avoid a ton of owls that you'll probably get hit by because you got stuck behind a freaking chimney, meaning you get flung in the air in an unpredictable direction while locking your controls, meaning there's a chance you'll stay airborne *just* long enough for your I-frames to wear off and then drop directly into the crowd below causing you to get hit again, and then you'll get stuck under one of the balconies causing you to get hit *again,* only to finally steer yourself back onto a rooftop that is currently sizzling due to pyrotechnics that just straight-up *won't* turn off, meaning you just died and have to start all over again. Can you tell whether or not I beat this contract at the time of writing this? I'll give you two guesses and I'll completely ignore the first one. Quick Edit: This was made before I unlocked his #2 and #1 choices, and I'm torn on each: #2: The original version was already a hassle for me, so I am *not* looking forward to it #1: Surprisingly, I *am* looking forward to it. It actually seems like a fun challenge (Forgoing the bonus challenges of course, I wanna keep SOME sanity intact).

Wound Up Windmill is so much easier than bird sanctuary, Bird Sanctuary is annoying as shit while Wound Up windmill has about 3 enemies that actually matter.
I slightly disagree with the lower end. I still haven't beaten vault codes 3 stamps and illness has speedrun full stop, despite alpine skyline being my second favourite chapter but I got 3 stamps on quality time and security breach first try. I love this video tho
Originally killing a bird would instantly kill you, and the bonus was to clear the level in 65 seconds. With the Nyakuza Metro update it was changed so that killing a bird merely damages you, and the bonus is instead to clear it without taking damage.
I think down with the mfa is the hardest death wish ever. I'm trying to think how to beat him but nothing working do you now how to beat the mfa boss in death wish.
For SB I did the first bonus on accident but for a lot of these I just threw myself threw most of these with time stop not but I have never done the ship shape one and I’m not going to but anything with one hit hero in it I’m not doing but I find SB the easiest out of all the deathwishs at least in this list but I find windmill 2nd hardest while I find the moustache gauntlet thing the hardest on this list

Killing 2 birds is a boss so it was banned from the list from the start. As for deep sea time rift, honestly never found any of them to be hard personally. But i understand why they could be challenging

Time stop hat makes an astronomical difference to the difficulty of security breach. Seriously try it out.
this video made me realise that excluding bosses there isnt much hard death wishes, i find first half of the list pretty easy, also there are few more skips in wound up windmill that makes you skip almost half of the level, so i think cruisin for bruisin is harder because there isnt any way to make it easier
I honestly think the "complete 40 tasks without missing one" challenge in Cruisin' for a Bruisin' is by far the most difficult non-boss challenge. Once you start getting 5+ tasks on screen on your screen at a time it becomes super easy to get overwhelm or even determine where you have to go next (not to mention the fact that you can barely go in a straight line if you have too many items on hand). Plus how easy/hard of a time you're going to have feels largely up to luck at times since you may get the tasks spawning super close or all the way on opposite ends of the map.
Wound-up Windmill is still brutal if going for full completion, but at path ahead is always the same so its purely a matter of skill (that and there's plenty of ways to take shortcuts to reach the end).

Ironically did both missions on the ilness has speedrun on the first try. And also both missions on the security when I finally managed to beat it.
The bird hell, full speed windmill hell and mustache hell are absolutely brutal
The one that gave me the most trouble was the Conductor+DJGrooves EX boss fight. Took me forever to get through this mess, I'm glad it has the best music in the game at least.

Im doing the windmill rn, since I really loved the normal windmill, I refused to use the time hat, but DAMN that shit is horrible
Btw now that I know that it's "not using hat abilities" instead of "dont slow down the flow of time" Im probably gonna use it, but just on parts that I already figured out how to get through them
If the boss rush was included, then "Seal The Deal" would be the hardest of the hardest, because it is literally all the bosses at once. But still, Wound Up windmill is what makes the game so much harder, that even a intermediate like me can't make it through all 114 death wishes!

In wound up windmill there’s two skips
The first is at the very start you kill the 5 crows and you jump to a spinning platform
The second is you jump as the elevator reaches the top it slingshots you up and you land on a higher platform
Completing all 3 Security Breach challenges actually wasn't too difficult for me, although that might have something more to do with how many times I've had to help my siblings on the normal version of this level...
Same I beat all 3 my first attempt I only had 7000 pons in debt and I didn’t even know not getting spotted was a bonus
Randomly stumbled onto this video and was hit with a wave of Death Wish PTSD. Even then, i didn't complete the bonus objectives for most of them, using mod levels instead to reach the points to progress. The hardest for me was definitely the train, moustache gauntlet, the boss rush, and Snatcher and Moustache Girl EX fights.
Weirdly enough I found Great Big Hootenany pretty easy, though again, i dont go for bonus objectives

i had the game 100% completed before the dlc came out. now, in 2022 i still have yet to get any farther than 10 seconds until self destruct
Honestly security breach doesn’t belong here. It wasn’t even that much harder than the actual level. Most of the birds are added in areas you already had to avoid anyway, you just have to trek through differently. Worst case scenario you can use the Time stop hat in some areas if your timming is really bad. The last bonus is a lil tricky, but you can do it fairly ok with enough tries/patience.
Edit: also hooternany should be lower. Yeah the dj grooves token bonus is so ridiculous its almost insulting the devs asked you to do it but, everything else is pretty easy. The band wont hit you as long as your moving.
Personally for me cruisin for a brusin was harder than windmill. While windmill requires near perfect play to get both bonuses. Crusin for a brusin requires not only skillful play, but also an insanely deep knowledge of this massive ship along with a fair bit of luck. Getting 40, and even 70 tasks is honestly easy, but completing all 40 tasks without missing a single one required absolute perfection. Still probably one of my favorite death wishes though, fight me.

-10: I agree. You just need a good route, but it took me some attempts to actually find one
-9: I can't really judge how difficult it is for others, because I've done a speedrun
-8: Quality Time with Snatcher is extremely easy (I even survived 15 minutes once)

-6: I agree, because it's not that hard, but really annoying
-5: It's a lot of fun (But it is kinda hard with One-Hit Hero)
-4: A longer line? Just take bigger circles. It's not difficult at all
-3: If we count every bonus for the Top 10, I just have one word: PAIN
-2: Cruisin' for a Bruisin' is the hardest (I've completed every bonus, but this one... I was only able to beat it on easy mode...)
-1: My dude... Sorry, but it's a lot of fun and just today I obtained the One-Hit Hero Bonus

3:01 Funny thing with the illness has speed run. When I finally cleared it I had less than a second left on the clock. My final time was like. 6 minutes and 59.9 seconds.
And honestly security breach was absolutely one of the easiest for me. I think im just a sucker for battle of the birds (Specifically the conductor lmao) and have spent way to long playing that chapter but its really easy to memorize the patterns
Also Cruisin' for a bruisin' is really annoying, but its so fun to slowly improve
In terms of difficult/annoying contracts
I beat almost every deathwish without peace and tranquility with the exceptions being the illness has speedrun and cruisin for a bruisin
I will do them normally once day but today is *not* that day lmao
Tip for The Illness Has Speedrun: If you fall off, the game will respawn you right next to the ziplines. If you intentionally jump off after destroying the flowers you can get back to the main island noticably faster than if you ran down. That's what I did to the the bonuses.

so, funny story abt the great big hootenanny for me, after about 4 tries, I managed to get to the end where the prize was released. As I got to the time piece, I GRABBED IT... And the parade owls swarmed me. I died while picking the damn thing up. Sobbing.

Honestly, Quality Time with Snatcher was one of the easiest death wishes for me to full clear.
I turned on easy mode and had a god mode badge mode on bc I wanted the snatcher skin and I knew I couldn't do it without it
Edit: I found wound up windmill somewhat annoying and fun, considering I was just going for the main objective, I did it before I did the god mode stuff
Mustache guy Ex is one of the hardest bosses of all time right up there with critical mode Yozora from KH3 and DMD Vergil from DMC3
10 seconds till self destruct is easy with the cheese, just play the level without the one hit badge until right before you hit the button put it on, the game only checks what you have on when you click the button, though I will admit doing it legit is difficult(the furthest I've gotten was the 3rd set of panels before the end, at 99x attempts)
Bird sanctuary is easy if you take it slow, and with a couple skips, you can easily deal with the mafia by leadng the crows away then using the timestop hat to kill the mafia. You also don't even need to clear the stage for the mafia bonus to count. I did the one hit bonus 2nd try, but the mafia one took 43.
I beat the illness has speed runs when I was 10 and it's probably very rare that I actually beat it
The Great Big Hootenanny is ACTUAL bullshit.
Even with Peace and Tranquility on (Which as far as I can tell, just makes the penguins drop health more often whenever you aren't being tasked to press the buttons and I *think* it also lowers the number of owls following you to 20 [EDIT: No, it doesn't]) it doesn't change the fact that you're trying to avoid a ton of owls that you'll probably get hit by because you got stuck behind a freaking chimney, meaning you get flung in the air in an unpredictable direction while locking your controls, meaning there's a chance you'll stay airborne *just* long enough for your I-frames to wear off and then drop directly into the crowd below causing you to get hit again, and then you'll get stuck under one of the balconies causing you to get hit *again,* only to finally steer yourself back onto a rooftop that is currently sizzling due to pyrotechnics that just straight-up *won't* turn off, meaning you just died and have to start all over again.
Can you tell whether or not I beat this contract at the time of writing this? I'll give you two guesses and I'll completely ignore the first one.
Quick Edit: This was made before I unlocked his #2 and #1 choices, and I'm torn on each:
#2: The original version was already a hassle for me, so I am *not* looking forward to it
#1: Surprisingly, I *am* looking forward to it. It actually seems like a fun challenge (Forgoing the bonus challenges of course, I wanna keep SOME sanity intact).

I love A Hat in Time. I love platformers. I am a completionist. I don't think I'll complete these. The platforming is simply too janky at a certain point.
I'm in the same boat plus I enjoy speedrunning and I agree. This games movement is really solid at some times, but it can be really infuriating at other times

Originally killing a bird would instantly kill you, and the bonus was to clear the level in 65 seconds. With the Nyakuza Metro update it was changed so that killing a bird merely damages you, and the bonus is instead to clear it without taking damage.

For SB I did the first bonus on accident but for a lot of these I just threw myself threw most of these with time stop not but I have never done the ship shape one and I’m not going to but anything with one hit hero in it I’m not doing but I find SB the easiest out of all the deathwishs at least in this list but I find windmill 2nd hardest while I find the moustache gauntlet thing the hardest on this list

i know im late, i know opinions are different, but im missing 2 Missions there. 1. Killing Two Birds, with only Focusing one, is such a cancer to play. 2. The Deep Sea Time Rift with all Pons, THAT Shit, is STILL Frustrating me bcs i started to play this again. and it makes me SO FUCKING ANGRY XD
Killing 2 birds is a boss so it was banned from the list from the start. As for deep sea time rift, honestly never found any of them to be hard personally. But i understand why they could be challenging
