Safety features include anti-lock brakes, stability control, and the Intelligent Crash Response System. In a collision it deploys the airbags, disables the fuel pump, turns on your hazard lights, and unlocks the doors. Advanced available safety features include front assist with autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, rear traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and park distance control which can assist with parking.

sat in one of these the other day, being almost 6'3" I was amazed at the amount of room they manage to give the driver. Most cars that size I'd be impossibly cramped in and it usually bars me from buying a car of this size but I didn't even need the seat all the way back. Some SUV's have worse leg room than these!

traded in my 2014 civic 2 weeks ago.i had all intentions of getting a jetta but after driving it i just couldn't pull the trigger.......i fell in love with the Passat on my test drive,so now i own it and love it.the jetta was okay but the passat is sooo much nicer. it's a jetta on steroids.i have been a Honda guy for years but the quality of the VW has honda whipped!
i went for the 2016 Passat s it was on sale,the dealer made me a offer i couldn't refuse! $17160,MSRP was 24k it had 8 miles on it.

I had a 2012 Jetta 2.5 SE and it was a great car! but it looked just like this 2017...? The Jetta needs a complete over haul as it's looked the same since 2011. If this came in AWD and a performance version like the Golf R I would seriously consider one again !

Wanted to comment today I discovered the middle console also doubles as an arm rest!! If u push it back it then allows for it to be slided slightly up then forward. Ta da u have an armrest. Didn't see that noted in this extensive video. Germans really thought of everything on this car!! 👍👍

Mike - i have one of these (mine is 5M) - you did a nice job here. Your review was unable to include the impressive MPG (At 15,000 miles I've been able to average about 39 1/2 MPG in mixed City/Highway driving.....................

Bought oldest daughter a 2017 almost two years ago with 14k miles for her college car and she loves it and has not had any issues with now just over 50k miles. Looking at another one the same year and color as the 1st for my other daughter tomorrow with just under 17k miles. Car is quite peppy and still fun to drive with great fuel economy, even for me and being accustomed to driving BMW (Fuel economy not as great).

I love VW but their 2017 designs are little basic to compete with major car brands , even though VW has proven that the looks don't count but the quality of the drive! It will be nice if VW worked out something difference; just my opinion!
I'm debating if I should buy this car, it just kills me that there is no engine temperature gauge on the console
Newer cars use displays a light will turn on if engine starting to overheat and it will ding.
I don't recommend getting it, the parts are very expensive and some of them can last over 100,000 Mi but they just are not as good of cars as the arrivals

yeah, all jetta models do.
Cody B they also come with heated mirrors as well on all base models and for up north the cold weather package they come with heated seats and heated window washer nozzels and you also get the heavy dutie rubber mats and the trunk comes with a cargo liner with cargo blocks to hold your cargo in place and mine also came with a first aid kit all with the base model I did not ask for anything extra all this extra came with the base model ,really you get so much for it being a base model ,and dont let the sticker price scare you with all the sales now and coming up for presidents day and spring sales you can buy one of these cars far less then sticker price . oh ya the stereo system for being a base model really sounds awesome i use the bluetooth for my phone and listen to pandora radio for free and it sounds awesome and it is loud trust me !!!

I have been driving a 2017 Jetta S ever since the dealer - - 7 miles south of California's capitol dome - practically gave it to me (Summer 2017). Reckon with manufacturer and dealer's (multiple) discounts, my OTD cost was $13337.05. I need to add in here that includes California sales tax California license (which ain't cheap) AND the infamous dealer dork - er, doc. fee!!
Per Fuelly dot com - at 31, 222 miles - 40.8 is the average MPG in 60City/40Highway use.
Lastly there have been zero issues since purchase. That would seem to validate Consumer Reports take on vehicle reliability.

Deni Hodzic I think the maxima should be compared to the CC. I think the Passat is more like an Altima and the Jetta can be compared to the Sentra. VW beats Nissan though in all of those classes.
