@@joycebrooks5171 Hi! You will have to check with your State Board of Nursing in regards to online CNA courses. Most states do not recognize the online courses as the majority are not accredited. It would be a waste of your time and money.
Now, online refresher courses are available. I am actually working on one. These courses do not have to be accredited as they are not part of the formal training.
Immerse yourself in your studies. Volunteer to demonstrate skills in class. Participate in classroom discussion. Watch my videos!!! Ask questions, especially the "WHY?" question. When you know the "why", you will gain a better understanding of theory and Clinical. Be responsible for your learning. Take what your instructor instills in you and carry it home to practice outside the classroom setting.
Ooh! I could go on and on with advise!!! But, these are the most pertinent.
@@NURSEJAR Thank you so much I just need some help thanks alot omg. I look forward to seeing them will they be free courses or how will that work?
Hello 😁for my exam are old skool vans considered appropriate as non-skid shoes
I failed this skill only. Now to retake lol. Numbers 6 and 10
hi Miss Julie, is it okay to raise the head of the bed a little bit to help the resident sit up easier?
Hi, Melissa! Yes, you may!
NURSE JAR thank you for your response😊.
Good afternoon,
If your next skill is transfer to wheelchair, is it ok to still have the resident stay setting up?
critical step 6 is where? Is this a continuation series maybe I'm not connecting the dots. My apologies.
Step #6 is performed correctly when the testing candidate assists the client to a seated position with his/her feet flat on the floor.
Oh ok got it thank you.
do we get marked down or not taking the shoes off and assisting them to lay back in bed?
I love your video
Hi, Nadine! Thank you!!!
You didn't apply shoes while on bed
Please ma’am does this apply to prometric skills as well?
Question with the transfer do you have to put the transfer belt away before you say skill completed or no
Yes
Hi, Raquel!
Yes, you do. All items must be disposed of and placed back into storage before stating "washing hands, skill complete",
Hi Mrs.Julie, during the skills testing do the clients knees need to be touching the back of the bed while sitting with their feet flat on the floor on any of the steps in order to receive credit?
Hi, Salendra! The only time you will want the client's knees or legs to be touching the bed and/or wheelchair is when you are assisting them to sit on the bed and/or wheelchair.
When assisting the person to sit at the side of the bed, you must continue to assist them ( hands on the person) until there feet are flat on the floor. If not, you will AUTOMATICALLY FAIL this skill.
As far as Order Dependent steps, if the are order dependent on each other, you must perform them in the order as listed in your handbook.
With this skill, steps 3 through 8 are order dependent, but not on each other. They are order dependent to step 9. Therefore, steps 3-8 may be performed in any order as long as you perform them before you perform step 9.
Hope I answered your question!
I have my test tomorrow and I’m so scared 😭😭
Hi, April!! Good luck on your exam! Let me know how you do.
Hi Ms. Julie, can you please tell me the testable skills for Arkansas?
Hi, LaShawnte! Here is the link to Arkansas' Skills List:
Arkansas Nurse Aide Exam | Prometric
www.prometric.com/nurseaide/ar
JULIE REYNOLDS Thank You
Is the same for prometric in louisiana
How many test you do when taking the skills exam?
Omg my exam is tomorrow I’m still scared
Hi Nurse Jar! I test in two weeks! Would that be enough time to study enough to pass the exam?
Hi, Lydia! Depends on where you are at with your competency and your dedication and discipline to study.
The patient cant always be of help lifting their torso to seated position or even move legs off bed. Would love to see a demo with a dead weight patient.
Hi, S. C.! These videos are for training for candidates who will be testing. However, in real life, for a patient who is immobile or cannot bear their own body weight, you would not be ambulating them.
If you needed to transfer a patient as such, you would use a mechanical lift with 2-person assist.
Miss Jar, is this for Pearson vue testing? I’m in Ga!
Hi, Shantay! Yes, Mam!
Where can I find a list of the skills numbered as you are referencing?
Hi, Lindi! You may download your state's nurse aide candidate handbook online. Your handbook will list all testable skills.
Hi Ms Julie For the prometric test do I not put on the patient’s shoes for them? I’ve seen people do it on videos
Hi, Iyssa! Prometric does not specify whether or not the testing candidate has to physically place the person's shoes on their feet.
It states only that the candidate has to ensure that the person is wearing non-skid footwear before standing the person.
Therefore, I think it is safe to say that, as long as the testing candidate initiates the putting on of the person's, you will receive credit for that step.
JULIE REYNOLDS thank you so much 😊
Do non skid socks also count? The hospital ones that have the sticky stuff underneath :) thank you so much!
Are these videos good for NyC?
Julie love Reynolds is for Texas?
Not quite sure what you are asking!
Do we have to do the steps in order??? Or just make sure we do ALL steps?
Hi, Deemyra! Steps 3-7 are not order dependent on each other; therefore, steps 3-7 may be performed in any order as long as you perform them BEFORE assisting the person to stand.
Be careful with STEP #7. If the transfer (gait) belt is touching the person's street clothes, you will not receive credit for this step. So, ensure the person's gown is closed completely in the back as much as possible.
I encourage nurse aide candidates to secure the gown in place with the waist straps immediately after assisting the person to a seated position on the side of the bed. I also encourage them to readjust or re-check the gown before and after assisting the person to stand.
Hope I answered your question!
which state?
Hello Mam, This is ramil Again..By the way during the state board exam Do we need to wear Scrub suit or its just casual attire?..thank you and GODBLESS..
Hi, Ramil! It's best to wear your training scrubs and tennis shoes that can be easily removed and put on.
Do non skid socks also work? The ones that hospitals use, thank you :)
Hi, Kiara! Yes, in real life. But during testing, candidates will be wearing shoes.
@@NURSEJAR thank you for answering so promptly! I was trained with the non skid socks that's why I asked, they are provided at my testing site I believe. But I'll shoot for shoes!
@@kiararivera505 No problem! But, if your testing site uses the non-skid socks, you will have to use them if the person is not wearing non-skid shoes.
Do you need to wear gloves on this skill?
Hi, Iciagu! No. This skill does not require the wearing of gloves.
Are these skills for California?
Hi, Carrie. These skills are for all states that fall under Pearson Vue as the Authorized Test Administrator.
California is under Pearson Vue. However, "Provides Catheter Care for Female" is not testable in the state of California.
@@NURSEJAR Thank you!
The belt should be applied over the gown
Yes, you are correct.
@@NURSEJAR you didn't do it right
@@jeneralirobert Hmmm! Okay.
@@NURSEJAR perhaps the client should place hands slightly below your shoulders. You didn't ask the client whether they are dizzy
@@jeneralirobert This training video is for Pearson Vue. Asking the client about dizziness is not a required step for Pearson Vue.
As far as the placement of the client's hands, you will want him or her to place their hands on the bed so they can help push themselves off the bed when being assisted to stand.
Thank you for your observations.
How much is taken study to be CNA?
Hi, A S! Not quite sure what you are asking. If you're asking about the cost, different training centers charge a different amount. Cost can range anywhere from $750 to $3500. If you are asking about the length of time of training, again, it all depends on the training institution. Training cycles may last anywhere from 3-week fast track programs to 6 months to a full year. If I did not answer your question, please comment. Thank You!
