What worked for you? I got a curved monitor and the resolution settings are at reccomended and for the drivers it says it’s up to date. Might just return everything if I don’t find a solution
@@lone.1629 I just kept looking back at it every now and then, some times it thought the resolution was supposed to be 1920x1080 so I closed settings and just checked back in a bit later till it said the right resolution
I updated my drivers and the recommendation was the "Microsoft basic adapter" so I updated that but it still did not do anything... I uninstalled it nothing... Reinstalled it still nothing

My dad's PC has a shader model 2 Nvidia GPU and some of the resolutions are read incorrectly by the monitor. E.g 1600 900 is read as 1680 1050. The strange thing is, 800 600 and 1024 768 are read correctly but are stretched out to 16:9 instead of 4:3
I got a new PC base unit only, when I connected to my monitor, got a fuzzy screen with horizontal lines and triple images icons etc. Followed your steps and it fixed everything. Display is perfect now. THANK YOU 🙏❤️
nothing helped 😟. The recommended resolution in my settings isnt the right one. The resolution of my desktop is 1920 x 1200. I cant even choose that resolution anymore. This happened when I restarted my computer.
If this doesn't work, try changing the refresh rate for the external monitor to 60Hz by going in display settings >display adapter settings > monitor > refresh rate

I found out that I possibly disabled my display driver after shutting down my computer. I went into device manager and reenabled the device. Hopefully this helps anyone who still needs help!
FOR CLARIFICATION FOR EVERYONE HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS. the fix i found was to do what was in the video. BUT THEN remove the cable and swap it to a different video port/hdmi port and then go into settings and it will now have the option to change resolution again.
You’ve saved me a whole lot of time. I have a fairly old monitor so I still use vga😂😭 my issue was that I plugged it into my motherboard instead of my graphics card. I’m slowly upgrading my setup piece by piece. My pc is almost there I just need some new monitors, keyboard and mouse 👌

I did all of these none of them worked. My monitor is making everything big and it is stretched and im getting an error the error says "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"
I actually have another display problem, while connecting a second monitor to my PC. I don't think that my screen is too stretched, but the lower part of the screen on the monitor is hidden because it's too low. I have the recommended resolution, it's just that the display wont fill in the monitor screen correctly. Is there anyway to change that? @@xelsa7rx450 So I fixed my issue by doing a system restore to an earlier point. I had to download installation media onto a USB stick, but only to get to the system restore option because i couldn't navigate the start menu. I figured out that the graphics card's control center has a scaling option that i think was the issue. When I did a system restore everything was fine so maybe try that.

Ur tips doesn't work, cause the screen resolution did not helped and my PC screen is zoomed in and apps and icon is zoomed as well even tho this isn't my really owned screen resolution because my.old screen resolution is not zoomed in but it's recommended
Greetings, I've attempted to follow your steps to detail without success! I have an ACER Laptop connected to an HD Philips Television via HDMI! All was OK I thought until I shut off the Television and started it the following day! Everything was stretching past the boundaries of the television set! After attempting your fix options! AM UN-successful! I've resorted to trying to remove the video drivers, Both sets, as this laptop has Intel and Nvidia dual GPU! After uninstall and restarting the computer I than re installed the drivers thru Windows 10 update! Again am UN-successful! I have attempted to run the system on both screens open and as well only the external screen! {as a duplicate display}! If possible, Could you advise what I might be over looking before I try re-loading the OS from scratch! The only next option I know is to let the system install windows 11! But I can't stand windows 11!

Did not work. Just bought a 3rd AOC monitor and it is crap. There is no way to get the resolution to not increase every document, browser window and such to 30% larger than the original laptop monitor extended from. My first USB monitor did not have this issue. It broke, I purchased a replacement - crap resolution with no fix. I purchased a replacement to the replacement and crap resolution with no fix. Windows is up to date and the drivers are as well. very annoyed with AOC garbage product since 2019!
Anyone who had none of these work, I figured out my issue. (I am not an expert but worth a try) I first tried uninstalling and reinstalling nvidia driver (didn’t work) but noticed when I right click n vidia start up opens. I chose the native display type on there and vuawala it worked- hope it helps

I found my issue in my display drivers setting. I had a NVIDIA graphics card driver, when I changed it to a random resolution and then reverted it back, it fixed it.
Terrible video as you only go over some potentials with the OS and don't actually explore what could be a user's problem. Here's how to fix this on your monitor if none of the above solutions worked for you. I use a 2560x1440 Samsung Odyssey G7 monitor, and sometimes it stretches my desktop to the side, (usually when the power goes out.) If your monitor is new enough, it will have a menu setting called PIP/PBP. By turning PIP/PBP on and off, it may resolve your problem. (PIP/PBP is a way to display multiple video outputs on one screen.) This mainly works on newer monitors that use Display Port or HDMI cabling.

Drag the icons to the left-hand side of the screen and position them where you want them. Hold the Ctrl button and roll the mouse wheel slowly forward or back to adjust the size of the icons. Right-click on your desktop again and select Refresh. If the above steps do not work, you can try resetting the desktop icon spacing to default.

wow no solutions. all this is already a thing in most cases. if your display is "stretteched out over the screen it means your screen does not support the refresh rate of your graphics card.

Guys for method 1, even tho he asks us to click on the recommend resolution, you should try out different resolution even if its not recommended, i click on a resolution that is not recommended and it fixed my issue

@@pinkpincol my pc tho doesn’t have an hdmi input so I connected it to my monitor with vga to vga cable. Idk if that might be the problem?

.....changing the refresh rate to highest setting (75hz) fixed it for me.
This did not work for me. Using gaming computer to TV. The screens are overscaled

When I go to try and change the display resolution, it won’t let me, the drop down box is gray and won’t let me click it. What do I do? :(

I use a 2560x1440 Samsung Odyssey G7 monitor, and sometimes it stretches my desktop to the side, (usually when the power goes out.) If your monitor is new enough, it will have a menu setting called PIP/PBP. By turning PIP/PBP on and off, it may resolve your problem. (PIP/PBP is a way to display multiple video outputs on one screen.) This mainly works on newer monitors that use Display Port or HDMI cabling.

also check your monitor if its in auto mode or set at 16:9 or 4:3 windows will try to do the monitors settings
So this problem happend after we went form one of our pc drives to another and on windows 7 ultimate it worked find and when we got the stretched screen we just changed the resolution but now I've tried everything but the windows update thingy says it has a problem and whatever I do even troubleshooting it it does not work please help me I hate this screen

My triple monitor just got weird after i injecting new razer mouse, i dont know whether was causedby the mouse or not, i had tried all ur solution even uninstall and restart to resolve my issue, but left monitor is normal and clear, middle monitor is a little bit streched, right monitor is displaying input not support, but i still can view the desktop screen blurry🤔
Orfff, i just tried to unplug and plug in three display adapter during restarting, and now it works normally
can anyone help everything is up to date both driver and windows ive restarted couple of times and nothing change the limit of the screen resolution is still at 1280 x 1024
None of this helped. I was installing a new case fan and unplugged my second monitor by accident. When plugged back in, the screen is flat.

I have attempted to install drivers about 50 times reset my pic god knows how much but the screen just goes black when I am installing the drivers it gets to a certain point in the update and stays black
I apricate the help even though it didn't help I had this happen once before but I forgot how to fix it is there any other ways?

Drag the icons to the left-hand side of the screen and position them where you want them. Hold the Ctrl button and roll the mouse wheel slowly forward or back to adjust the size of the icons. Right-click on your desktop again and select Refresh. If the above steps do not work, you can try resetting the desktop icon spacing to default.

wow no solutions. all this is already a thing in most cases. if your display is "stretteched out over the screen it means your screen does not support the refresh rate of your graphics card.
I use a hdmi to vgi converter but want to change the resolution to 1500x1200 but I can't find out how.
This did not work. I changed my graphics card to a tesla c2075 and the formatting is still stretched.
It works. Omg! My screen is cropped on the left and there is a black space on the right. I watched it because I'm having trouble in shutting my computer down due to the cropped display. Thank you so much

Guys for method 1, even tho he asks us to click on the recommend resolution, you should try out different resolution even if its not recommended, i click on a resolution that is not recommended and it fixed my issue
