Watching closely you can see the ghoul uses positions as in D tuning and the guitarrist place a capo to retune to E standard their D tuned guitars. So yes, i tried to merge the live performance and adapt it to the studio version with some little changes. Why not just standard? i assume people want to get the same experience, specially live. If you want, you can just play standard and transpose everything 1 step (or 2 digits less on tabs). Transcribed form studio version with help of live videos

I really like your approach. Taking what's obvious (and subtle) from live performances is great. Sometimes there is "magic" that happens in the studio, I suppose. I'm not going to have that advantage, so neither should the original artist, lol! Then you have to learn how to play with every imaginable technique.
Dude, it sound perfect even with your jazz bass, and the original nameless ghoul used drop D to play this song.

I used drop d for some of my Ghost stuff originally but found that once I tuned down to d standard the fingering was much smoother.

I absolutely have no way to learn an instrument right now. Money is very very tight around here, and I reckon it'll be at least another year or two before I even have enough money to consider buying a bass guitar. All that aside, I still absolutely love the shit out of your videos. It's very apparent you've been playing this lovely instrument for a while, and though I don't own a bass guitar, it's still nice to watch the tabs and your fingers and listen to the song at the same time. is there a reason the chord names match what they would be if you were in standard, instead of matching the pitch of the new tuning?
Usually you do that so it's easier to recognize the harmony and not being constantly thinking of transposed harmony, transposed notes, etc

is it just me or are the chord/note names wrong? I realize that its a whole step down. the notation is wrong?
It's done that way usually for transposed instruments or transposed contexts. It would be harder to think of transposed harmony isntead of contextualized harmony

This song can be played fine in E standard. Infact it's a bit easier.
Remember to transpose the chords on screen if that is possible. Everything is one whole tone lower than what is written.
I do it like this so its easy to understand assuming you downtuned your bass/guitar. So you don't have to transpose in your mind all the time

Sorry to critique, but isn't this in 4/4? When you add 2 bars of four, a bar of five, then a bar of 3, it equals 16/4, which is the same as 4/4. Regardless, great song and cover!
Yeah, i decided to do that because of accents. Time signatures, besides putting order to beats, should also give some meaning to accentuation used. But yeah, you can think of it on 4/4 with moved accentuation

Work on your fucking ears. This song is not hard at all to pick up. Maaaaaybe for some of the fills, but jeez, again, work on listening.
When you come to this channel you expect transcriptions that try to research how it is originally played, there's research behind, skill of someone doing this for years, and time on listening . Maybe you could go through with some listening, but i think the nuances are the ones appreciated. Other than that, patrons (people supporting me) can ask for everything they want. There are people like you or like me that can learn songs just by listening, but not everyone is like you, other people need tabs, I also need tabs. When I want to find how the original bass part of the song sounds, this guy is the best solution, as his name says. Learn to appreciate the effort he makes when making these covers. If you don't like it, it's ok, but don't write insulting comments like this one.

That's how you develop a musical ear. I don't talk out of my ass when I say this is an easy song to learn by listening. What I'm saying, per my earlier comment, is that this song is elementary by your standards. The requester needs to learn how to use their ears eventually. They can't rely on you for everything. Sure, your patrons can ask for whatever they want, but it wastes your time. And you shouldn't do anything because someone throws a buck your way. Don't be a whore.
+El Maximus speak for yourself. This probably took one take, sans learning the song. The longest part was learning the fills. It's not a difficult song. If someone is requesting this, then they need to either A) take some lessons or B) play a different instrument. This song is elementary and a waste of time. I appreciate the shit out of this channel.
