I feel the same way. Kaveh's a nice guy who ended up in some unfortunate circumstances and I think he gets a bit too much crap from Alhaitham, but damn, are they entertaining to watch/listen to! I wouldn't have any qualms about there being a sitcom just featuring Cyno, Tighnari, Alhaitham, and Kaveh together (Oh, and maybe Dehya as well, cause she definitely knows how to bring in the shade, especially when it comes to the Akademiyan scholars).

To people saying he was scammed by Dori: He wasn’t scammed. SPOILER: Kaveh got bankrupt mainly due to bad luck and bad decisions. Dori commissioned him to build her Palace with no limits to expense so he can go all out. BUT instead of building where Dori originally wanted it, he insisted on moving the location where eventually after the project was 70% done, all of it was destroyed due to The Withering (bad luck). Dori was obviously mad since she’s already invested a lot, but Kaveh didn’t want to give up due to his pride so he sold off his inheritance and used all of his savings to rebuild the Palace and even went over budget which he asked Dori to cover (bad decision). I actually have a newfound respect for Dori and Alhaitham in this regard. Dori for still paying for Kaveh’s tab in the pub (in-game message board) despite his debts to her, and Alhaitham for offering him free shelter despite their estrangement.
What he said about nahida has me soft. And if u check nahida's voice line about Kaveh, she also describes him in a really admirable way. If feel like they should be friends 🤧

Kaveh saw her as a hard to come by customer since she does not limit the budget so Kaveh could get as creative as he wanted, he recommended her to build a palace on a cliff side, which Dori rejected at first but he managed to persuade her. When the palace was 70% completed, a Withering Zone appeared and destroyed everything, Tighnari came to help clear it, Dori rushed to the site and couldn't be angrier and asked Kaveh to leave the project. Kaveh begged her to let him rebuild, Dori said that he asked to relocate the project to this place and the investment she put into the palace had been wasted, she didn't want to bear the extra cost. Kaveh then came back to Sumeru city to sold all his properties to get the 70% fund back, with Dori came up with the rest. Kaveh ended up finishing the project without earning a single Mora and heavily in debt with Dori due to overspent on follow up works. . TL;DR Dori's palace got destroyed and she told Kaveh to quit but he refused and spent way too much on rebuilding it.

Kaveh would prolly feel guilty for being a burder and would move out despite knowing that he would probably not survive. Alhaitham being "mean" keeps Kaveh from having to struggle too much but also benefits Alhaitham as a kind of side experiment of always having a different opinion near hum
