Peak got me so busy this video came out in the new year. Happy New Year Everyone! Let's make 2024 the year!
Happy New Year!
Hope you get a different job before next December.
Great to see your still pushing through
Happy New Year ! 2024 will be the best one !
@@johngonzo9671 we got this
Had a customer who claimed to be a former HR employee leave a bottle of champagne along with a very friendly note on their porch, that definitely made my peak season the best one yet for me!
I've noticed that normally during peak season, people especially with kids order alot of oversize items/large boxes in totes. I've emptied multiple totes at one house and i know the feeling. But hopefully now that peak is over, everything calms down, my DSP can return the rentals, and Rivian can ship out the rest of our 20 EDVs.
yep. 1 tote that goes to 1 house was very common during peak
What do you mean by rentals? DSPs use rentals?
@@Mr.WonderfulGaming DSP's rent out U-Hauls and sometimes unmarked step vans to be able to accept more routes, therefore boosting their rating and standing with Amazon, and they get a bigger check from Amazon should they be able to accept and cover more routes. The second and most common reason is that the DSP is relatively new and are awaiting the green light to put all their EDVs on the road, or they are waiting for all their EDVs to arrive and rent out XL Transit, Promaster, and Sprinter vans in the interim.
My DSP has since the second Prime Day last year, rented out more a dozen U-Haul vans, and not the nice ones, I'm talking about the short and small GMC Savanna vans that the steering wheel feels like im pulling on a rope, drivers are stereotyped as horrible (cuz these vans are commonly owned by contract workers, and i always ask around for anyone that wants a smaller route when i get a rental cuz i hate the metal partition between the driver and the back, not to mention the fact I'm too young to be saying "ooh, my back" or "ooh, my leg". I've already scratched myself with the rentals and bumped my head into the door latch at the top of the cargo door.
To say the least, I can't wait to see the U-Hauls leave our parking lot.
@@melodytheyeen Thank you. I never knew they did that. I guess that's why I've been seeing a bunch of unmarked step vans and stuff like that. I bet the small GMC vans sucked to deliver in.
“Jesus is my daddy” had me rolling 🤣🤣
Oh OK 👍
I have been involved with three peak seasons, One in fedex and the other one at Amazon and both those times I quit lol But I completed this peak and it wasnt too bad. Only twice I had 330 stops and I almost lost it! Shoutout with everyone who completed peak!
330 you mean 230?
330 stops ? Idk maybe 330 packages.
Peak season can be very stressful depending your city, i feel like delivery jobs are better in smaller towns then large cities
@@xjok3r_25z5Small towns are okay. Usually pretty easy. It's the surrounding countryside that can be problematic. Especially in inclement weather. I do a route that is effectively two small towns, one subdivision, a couple trailer parks and the rest is country. The area is hilly so houses can be at the top of the hill or in a valley. Luckily it didn't snow much in my area in this past winter. Even without any precipitation the roads are curvy and there's a lot of blind curves and sometimes you can't back into a driveway so backing out into the road can be nerve wracking at times.
Thanks for all you're doing man, it's cool to see so many people leaving out snacks and being thankful
Yeah. That was a great route
For sure thank y’all for doing such a great job. I live in a rural town but we always leave a variety of snacks from Black Friday until New Years for our drivers to include energy drinks. Stay safe and keep up the great work.
Yeah this was my first peak season at Amazon and our package count went up from the normal 300-350 too 550-600 it sucked but the stops stayed the same and I had My first kid on December 4ths
so this season has been rough but so glad it's finally over.
Yeah January/Febuary is really chill. Today was the first time in a long time I had less than 300 packages.
Always happy to see your videos. Recently I applied to be a courier at FedEx in November (already an employee at FedEx). I got the position and today marks the first day as a courier. Been in the warehouse for 2 years and wanted a change.
I think you'll like the change. warehouse workers at FedEx weren't allowed to have their phones!
Yo houses with snacks are the best always comes in clutch. I did peak season with UPS(personal vehicle)& honestly this year was slow af compare to previous years.Gonna start driving box trucks(26ft) for Amazon next week delivering the bigger packages 📦
Give me cash, not a bag of chips
Amazon XL let's go. Definitely more chill than what I do
Ngl peak almost took me out lol 450 packages everyday with insane group stops. My stop numbers actually went down because each stop was getting so many packages. I’d have 120-140 stops but 100 group stops and 5-15 packages going to each stop. Now I’m getting 200 stops a day with single package stops. The snacks are the only thing that kept me going but it sure was a game of Russian roulette every time eating weathered/expired shit that people leave outside haha😅
it's the risk we all take and I take it everytime haha
Snack booths are live savers!!!! I went a whole week depending on them not gon lie i appreciate people with them
"this house again?!?!" reminds me of this one lady that orders 3-5 things every single day in this one town that i love delivering in. Peak Season for me wasnt too bad unless im just used to it but every stop had 5 locations and 9 packages (delivering in south San Francisco) and even though i only had like 100 stops cause i was traveling to another warehouse every morning to help them for peak, i had about 350+ packages and boy are my legs numb to the stairs and whatnot lol
haha there's always that one house you visit everyday
I did delivery in downtown San Francisco before lol. But now I deliver San Ramon and Danville way way easier routes. Peak I saw 104-180 stops and just houses bunch of snacks
Your route looks amazing. Unfortunately my DSP we deliver to the woods, country and mountains. Dogs everywhere loose, steep hills and long driveways and one of our drivers are always getting stuck in the mud since everything is dirt roads. No lie, some people driveways are two miles long. We also deliver to farms, that tells you how rural our area is. It normally takes me 45 mins from the station to my first stop. Also, when it get dark in the rural areas we deliver, you cant see anything, not even your hand in front of your face, so a driver is always hitting something damaging trucks. I actually dont mind driving for Amazon, i just wish they'd change our delivery area.
ahh yes the countryside of the US. Would hate to deliver there during the night. In my building we switch delivery areas every year
Good stuff as always 👌 I hate you bro, I went all year without hearing "All I want for Christmas." Start of New Year and I already lost for 2024 🤣
haha it's a classic
I love these vids !! I watch them while I deliver too
As an Amazon driver, your videos keep me interested because I’m not the only one that deals with the things during the job. Especially peak bro, it hasn’t slowed down since peak where I’m at and I’m not far from you! Lol Keep the videos coming bro if you’re still working there!
Ahhh... A good day for snacks .....😂 Had a good amount of customers on my route with the snacks .... Didn't have to buy a bag of chips for 2 weeks..... Water hell I have a case of it from customers.....
Now you get to rest up as winter slows down......
Keep on truckin!!!!
8:08 - bruh 😂😂😂 you put that on video lmfao.
You are killing it man ! Keep it going , but i always say once you feel like your hearts not in it , find something that gets you back in it. But the snacks would help me also. Thats pretty cool people do that. Chris dont worry those days where theres not as many packages is right around the corner. 8:30 not too bad , i get out the office at 7. I rather be outside delivering packages than in doors all day. So i guess we have to take the bad with the good in everything 👍
take the bad with the good in everything. well said
Peak 2023 was very extreme I thought about quitting as well I had the most work I have ever had in my two years of driving you have to be very very strong mentally and physically to be able to handle this job especially during peak!!
Pro tip from a safety specialist at Amazon if your shoes wear out like that your manager or safety team can put in a SIM ticket to get a new credit if your shoes didn’t last a year.
You make me crack up Chris!
Greetings from Barcelona, España! 🇪🇸
When you left the package and said “hope it’s suite 104” 🤣i do that so much in those types of buildings
Keep going Chris you’ll make it
I don’t complain about the long hours cause the OT keeps my family afloat. This is a great job actually
I'm working back at FedEx man I enjoy watching ur vids man keep it the great work bro happy New year to u my brother
Happy new year bro!
Try 19yrs at USPS. We handle a lot of Amazon and UPS overflow plus different plants that can't handle what they get.
Butterfingers are peanut butter...not caramel 😂
8:08 LoL. ...ya know, sometimes the USP is given Amazon packages to deliver, and if they're small like that they go in the mail box ofc, so I figure - not a big deal at all! I honestly deliver to mailboxes fairly often
I remember how crazy it was working in stores on Black Friday in the mid-2000s. Now it's lame. I feel like the people who always buy too much stuff on Amazon may be Vine reviewers like I am. The UPS guy knows me too well. I did get 2 things delivered from Amazon delivery drivers while working in Dallas and up near Washington DC recently. It's crazy to get things in less than 24 hours; out in the middle of nowhere Colorado, it takes 3-5+ days.
same thing in rural Maryland, it takes 3 to 4 days to get stuff with Prime, with out Prime its up to USPS.
yep. Black Friday was crazy back in the days.
My route was changed and now I have all apartments, had to deliver 93 packages to a building thank god they have a receptionist took an hour and a half to complete 6 bags and 8 overflows
Same here man I hate apartments, and I still can’t complete them in time, I use to get houses with 300 packages and I always finish by 6pm and go for a little rescue, but with apartments I’m struggling 😢
@@stanleybernard9745 I feel you man Apartment are no joke I live in NYC and I be having 250 packages with 55 stops I be finishing late but I feel way more exhausted then houses which was quick and easy
@@AviatorGamerdon’t these apartments you deliver to in NYC have smart lockers to place them in? It will make the delivery easier.
@@TheHistorianKing not all of them have that. I'm back to delivering to houses. some building complex have lockers but customer still like to order to their front door so its double the work
After training and my nursery routes are done, i will have just barely missed peak season and as a new driver peak scares me
Nice vlog!
One time not during peak we had a garage delivery with 30+ overflows 6 trucks had to take the whole alley the neighbors were mad every driver hated that house
Delivering with FedEx for 15 years and delivering with Amazon for the past 3 months everybody Amazon believes that it's going to be over when it's over at the end of December😅
I told them peak season is just a start of something, You get that cool breeze the first 4 days after 🎁
Then tax season hits😮, All the back orders, returns, The reorders from the returns, the regular orders, followed by Valentine's month, mother's Day Father's Day so on and so on
I like to think people spent all their money in december 😅
Thanks for the vid!
100K in 2024 Lets go Chris! happy New Yearrr🎉
we got this baby!
I’n with FedEx express and our peak was only for 3-4 days the week before Christmas
Happy New Year all the way from Fiji. Love your content, always.
thanks! much love from the US!
Hang in there this time around my peak was easy only half of what I had last peak. My 4th peak.
I love it when I deliver and the houses have snacks.
same
This legitimately looks fun. Maybe I’m crazy lmao
Got a taste of peak this season. Also remember the orders after Christmas from the people that got Amazon Gift Cards.
0:54 - I work in e-commerce (more on the tech side), but it's true though. Business owners (EDIT: some, not all) will just list their sale price to the original price or something closer and change the compare-at price to something higher to make it look like a sale.
yep. marketing strats at its finest
My facility requires composite toe shoes and the ones we get from Zappos are definitely not too fun to wear for the whole shift. At least they're free.
December January and February are always rough man at least for me 😅
Bro I had 382 packages 20 totes 30 overflow in a van!!! I thought peak season was over!!
Bro put all those packages in a tote and carry it to the door. I got tired of fighting trying to keep 5+ packages together
true
When I was delivering newspapers everbody knew you. Giving you candy and money :D
Best times for a 13 year old
I don't know about you @Laoshouse , but I hate using the rabbits....I've been using my iPhone since i started and it makes delivering a much better experience.
I've been telling my dsp to switch to iphones
30 totes is insane, most I ever got this peak was 430 packages and never no more than 190 stops
I was starting cycle 0 early delivering 198 stop everyday I got used to it dou.
Saying a Butterfingers has caramel flakes in it is the craziest thing I’ve heard in 2024.
I'm a FedEx driver this is my second peak and this one was bad I almost quit but I
made it glad you made it to
january will be cake
So I'm trying to wrap my head around why people complain about more deliveries. Does Amazon actually make you work longer than your 10 hour shift if you don't finish in time? If it ends up being mandatory overtime then I totally get it. Otherwise it just sounds like people complaining about having more work to do. Call me old-fashioned but if you're on the clock you should be working. Amazon is one of the only jobs I've seen in my area that pays you for the full 10 hour shift even if you finish early. That's a luxury that I think people are taking for granted. Leaving early should be seen as a bonus, not the norm. You should expect to work the whole 10 hours if that's what your pay reflects.
Maybe I'm missing something. I've been a delivery driver for 10 years now but I've never worked for Amazon, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I just don't see having work to do at your job (where you're expected to work) as a bad thing. Maybe I'll try Amazon in the future and realize how wrong I was, but I doubt it. You shouldn't care, though. I'm just another stranger on the internet voicing his opinion that you'll forget about an hour from now.
Chris Happy New Year to you and your family
Happy New Year Dylan! Wishing you the best this year
peak was real rough here at ground, i'm usually done with my route in 6 hours but i was out 10 hours every day. That shit sucked ass especially since at my isp we get daily pay, not hourly. No bonus no ot etc.
only good if you get bonuses when you deliver more packages.
5:55 my delivery drivers when they come to my house for the fifth time in a week 😂
8:07 LMAOOO yo I feel you on that.
I know everyone thinks like that 😆
For all my years at FedEx and now that I'm training new crew coming into Amazon, although we're not allowed to place in mailboxes😅
I find that when you have an address that don't have numbers on it, or they don't even have numbers on their mailbox😢 every mailbox and United States are numbered within the mailbox, Open it up and look and it will show the number of the house😊 This is how you confirm the correct address.
Peak on the XL side has been slow for peak im shocked cause we were busy in November but not really in December
sounds like it's time to switch 😆
I started XL in November and ours was kind of like Chris mentioned in this video. Busy around Black Friday, then tapered off, then the week or so before Christmas was pretty busy again up until Christmas Eve. It's been pretty quiet since. I've only had 3 days the last two weeks, but losing 2 days for Christmas and 1 for New Years I wasn't shocked by that. We'll see how it goes with full weeks, and I'm sure some people will quit or be let go. Hoping I get to stick around because to be honest, I actually enjoy the work.
@@LaosHouse that’s what I did I was tired of them 100 plus stops and it’s a lot better on XL you just have to find a good dsp that deals with XL and you can use your DOT card instead of getting a new one
@@botld92z yeah they said once Black Friday and Christmas it’s gonna be cool that’s why I like it much better
At least you have a step van, I had 25 totes and 47 overflow in a regular prime van 🤷♂️🙃
not fun
peak in my prime van was usually close to 30 bags never actually 30 but so much theres no room to find anything
Try 25 bags with 35 overflow in a Amazon van with 190 stop with 360 packages we start at 11 and I be on like stop 140 at 6 somehow without running
the cargo vans make it so much harder
We didnt experience any peak here in florida. Atleast in west palm. People didnt order anything 😂our packages actually dropped
We usually do that and leave snacks and drinks
I got lucky this peak, Usually i get the 500 package routes because I can finish them every time but this time around I got our country route all peak that is 1 hour away from the station and is only 60 to 90 stops and at most 150 packages and they gave that to me because they know I im good at not getting stuck on those dirt roads, only down side was that i only got 21 Alexa thank yous this year lol
21 thank you's is pretty good
Happy New Year Chris!.Just subscribed to your channel!.😊
Happy New Year lee! Appreciate it fam
“OH MY GOD THIS HOUSE AGAIN?!” Killed me 😂 you run a route all the time you just know who the “regulars” are at that point it’s almost concerning when they don’t order anything lol
In England we have 300-350 parcels at Christmas. The only time we get 400 parcel is when we someone does 2 NL1 routes
I was watching this amazon youtuber deliver around london and he had to deliver every package to the customers hand if no one was home he had to bring it back which looked like a pain
@@rickyeligio1674 yeah England is a lot different to America we wait at the door for someone to answer if no one answers find a place to hide it. It’s crazy to me that Amazon is okay with the parcels being left at the door without knocking 😂
This peak season with DHL has my body feeling like its been in multiple wrecks
we made it. it's over
Yeah bro i did fedex for peak. Not bad at all lmao. 200 stops daily in like 6 hrs. Good day
Bruh I had 500 packages everyday from Novemeber 27th to December 27th lol it was fun.
Happy New Year Chris!
happy new year
I remember wen I work at Amazon I had 30 bags and 71 overflow
Peak season was trash for me the week before Christmas on a Sunday I was in a ram Pro master and they gave me 174 stops and 314 packages. I had 25 totes and 30 overflow, I literally had to stack my totes up 4 high in order to fit everything but I manage to fit it all but I had to wait longer because my carts weren't ready and the warehouse workers went home because they went over the 12 hour mark so there were basically supervisors had to finish loading are packages onto carts. I had to bring back 30 stops because I ran out of time and only one person rescued me and she only took 9 stops even though she was supposed to take 20. So I didn't get home until 12:30am and I had to work that morning as well.
getting home at 1230am is crazy
I did my first "Peak Season" tbh it wasn't really bad I got lucky I got the "nursery" routes most likely next peak season will tho
nice. I miss nursery routes
yeah, I quit being an amazon driver twice last year lol.
not once but twice lol
@@LaosHouse yeah lol😂
Never give up. God is great! When your day is not going good God knows and will make your day better especially when snacks and drinks involve what people put out for you
I’ve been working for three weeks now, and one stand up we were told that for engine off compliance we had to open the driver door. Do you just… not have engine off compliance? Or are you bending the regulations a little because it doesn’t actually matter? I guess with the mailbox thing it’s more the second, but I’d like to hear which “Amazon things” actually make a difference and which ones are a complete waste of time, such as “don’t scan packages in the van” vs. on the road violations
the electric vans dont have an engine. you can just walk in and out of them
@@LaosHouse Funnily enough we ended up talking about that at work a couple hours after I made the comment. Thanks for the response! Hope your post-peak weeks are light
i did that job and it so easy you get out of the van and run to the house or walk drop the package take a pic and leave same thing for the other houses. not that hard. i do not know why you other drivers complain about taking the packages and dropping them off. i told myself in 2024 if someone starts complaining about their job then quit. More jobs out there for us to take. and i do hate. "Complainers" If you hate your job then "QUIT"
I though peak season was over lol Today I had 184 stops I got rescued they took 40, I finished in 8 hours
Where ever you are i would love to work in that state and location because i work in the state of maryland and we can not scan package in the van for DSB purposes …we have to be within 50 meters of the house ( so like drive way or first step on porch ) we are required to do 20-25 stops an hour for houses and 15-20 an hour for apartments so many us cant stop for lunch cause you will fall behind on stops and they dont want you on the road for 12hours because in 4days you will past your drive time also we cant group stop so scanning packages for all locations even if they are the same location we have to sit there individually scan and take pics! I like the joy of delivery to customers but the rules are ridiculous AND WE HAVE TO TURN THE VAN OFF EVERY STOP FOR EOC PURPOSES So when you are exiting and entering the van we have to take the key out and restart to go one house down 😢😢😢😢
Be careful putting packages in the mailbox. It’s illegal and usps can take that package if they come to put mail and it’s in there
What sleep 😴 at 10:30 🕥 WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!😮😮😮!!!!!!
Man peak for me was easy max max package count I saw was 340 packages. 220stops
And I would start 12am 1 stop and finish by 4-5pm.
Right now my dispatch is offer me vto 😅
Frrr!! I would do 200 stops with 45+ group stops. I start at 11:20 and be done around 5.
^but that’s when I do the normal. Routes. This peak I was doing early routes (Cycle 0) with 200 stops still but the package count would be 210-230 packages.
America looks so nice and homely. You can't fine places like this in the UK. In the UK, you''ll have the ghetto hood just around the corner that will ruin everything.
Do you drivers in America not hide the parcels from view of the street? Because here in Australia we try to hide them out of view of the street. So no one walking past the house can see it and then flog it. But easy enough for the customer to find it.
I quit 6 months ago and i dont miss it
hate peak season I have a lot of stop 😢
Leaving Amazon has legitimately been the best thing for my mental health
Ive been a driver since october '23. I dont mind it because its decent pay or whatever but i hope to find a different job soon. Hate to say that because this job was supposed to be the "better" job after my last one LOL.
@@deafii441 yeah I thought I'd enjoy being by myself all day but when they loaded me with too many packages that I couldn't fit in the van and I had no one to vent to I was miserable. My new job is so much better with actually good benefits
Did any random people say anything about them being recorded by your go pro??
Is that what he uses? I was curious about how he films the pov.
I be having 160-190 stops with 250-370 packages during peak season how do you do 400+ packages within 10 hours?
Congratulations getting yourself snacks maybe someday if I go to your location or you can tell me where you live not exactly your entire address of your home what I mean is where? What city or country do you live in so I know where you go to for your deliveries because maybe someday I might actually rent a house for a week or at least maybe two or a month so I could actually perhaps leave a tray full of snacks on the holidays
30 totes?!?! 27 overflow!? So glad I quit this job.
No wonder why i never catch delivery drivers they teloport.
do they give extra load time for peak? how tf u can get 6 carts loaded in 17 minutes???
Hey brotha, how long you gonna stay in this dead end job? I mean this very respectfully. Why don’t you get an office specialist job with government or if you’re going to stick to package handling (that’s what you really do, driving is the easy part) why not join UPS?
$10000 fine for using mailboxes he'll you can't even use the white baskets from post office you get fine and jail time they mad because they deliver big Amazon boxes
no one had cycle 0? clock in at 6:30 am and get out by 4-6pm
Man im in canada and have been looking for job from last 4 months still cant find one its hard!!!
sending you good energy 🙏
