I did it solo same path as you for the 4th time last September, so it brought back great memories for me this video. I could not believe how many people were going up after the school holidays, mid week and at 07.30 as well, so different from the first time I did it with my 9 and 12 year old sons in 1997. Absolutely stunning views on the way up and climbing above the clouds and so pleased you got a clear summit as well to fully enjoy the spectacular 360 and what a place to have lunch. I led a party of friends to the summit for my 60th birthday and they surprised me with a bottle of champagne and a bottle of single malt whiskey, which we foolishly drank (give the conditions of thick snow on the summit) and it took us all longer to go down that it did to get up - fun day mind. What a great watch that was Linda, great hike but it looked a warm one too, cheers Alan
Thanks so much Alan, I’m pretty sure I’ll be up the Ben again. I was surprised by the amount of people just starting the ascent after 4 pm, not sure they realised how long it would take. Was too busy for me but had to be done. Glad you enjoyed! 👍
This was so lovely to watch. I'm planning to do this in late September. I'm typically a distance hiker, having walked the Ridgeway, the Grand Union Canal, and halfway through the Thames Path. Whilst I have climbed Snowdon and Scafell Pike, I'm not great at mountains so I'm expecting this to be hard work. Your video was well shot and captured some inspiring images. Thank you!
hi Linda well done you on reaching the summit the views are something else Scotland has it all stunning views cant wait try it for myself next week hope weather good .
Hi linda enjoyed your video, I attempted ben nevis yesterday but was beaten by the wind and rain. It has made me determined to go for it in the spring. Thanks for sharing
Ive been wanting to do this and i plan to next year. I heard some stories which kind of put me off but this route looks easy enough, thanks for sharing.
Just come back from from climbing the Ben in the last weekend in September, there were hundreds of people on the mountain. Going back next summer to do the CMD route.
Fantastic Linda I enjoyed that ❤this is on my bucket list and I struck one off a month ago and walked the cliffs of the Giants causeway in NI so this will be a trip very soon from the Scottish Borders 🏴🙌🏻
Brilliant day for a wee wander up the Ben! It must be a strange, sad, exciting, thought provoking, nostalgic time Linda!,, I can only imagine at the moment.....what's the plans for after 282? Another round? The Corbett's? A rest? .......well done! Paul
Thanks Paul. Some long distance trails & some smaller hills that I’ve not had time to do like Suilven. Repeat Munros & some Corbetts. Whole mixed bag really. Looking forward to it all! 👍
Hi, I climbed Ben Nevis at the end of May this year. The weather wasn't so nice like on your day. On top of the Ben Nevis was a lot of fog and there was still a little snow field on top of the summit. We stayed with our motorhome at the campsite near the visitor center. Thanks for showing your hike and bringing my memories of this lovely area back. Greetings from Germany.
Really nice film. I'm in the US and hike (aka walk in Scottish apparently 🙂) the White Mtns in New Hampshire. I believe millions of years ago when the continents shifted, the mountains in now Scotland were then part of the range that included the White Mtns. Ben Nevis looks very much like Mt Katahdin (the terminus for the Appalachian Trail, a 2300 mile trail in Eastern US) or Mt Adams/Washington in the Presidential Range. I need to get to Scotland to hike your mountains!
Yep, your post processing skills have V much improved . Videography skills too. Ben Nevis ~ gosh that hill takes me back so so many years ~ amazing Linda & thank you for sharing ✅ and bringing back good memories for me

I did Ben Nevis this Saturday and honestly it was hell during some parts of the climb for me and my friend and we consider ourselves fairly fit. Lol. We we're both walking like John Wayne the next day our legs were so sore! I wish I had done some walks up steep hills rather than thinking being a keen cyclist would be enough. Good luck if you do go for it!
It’s a well made path but a long and steep ascent. It took me around 4 hrs up and 3 down. My legs were a bit sore for a few days after. There’s no easy way to climb 1300+ m though. Try & pick a good weather day, makes all the difference if you get views! 👍
Nice to finally see the climb in good weather. I climbed Ben Nevis in October 2005. I spent several days in the area but I never once had good enough weather to see the top from the glen or vice versa.

Another great video Linda 😊 I’m hoping to climb Ben Nevis in June for my 60th really looking forward to it. With it being so busy where do you go to pee? 😅
Thanks Lorraine. I didn’t need to pee probably as it was pretty hot. There are toilets at the car park & some woodland on the lower slopes. Thereafter you’re pretty exposed. You might be able to veer off the main track & head for a biggish boulder. Hope you have a great day. 👍

@@skinlessapple the path I took is the pony track or tourist path. You can’t pitch your tent on the summit as there are too many boulders. Pitching a tent at 1/2 way Lochan is possible. Thanks for watching. 👍
