I remember the toursists with italian loafers having to turn around halfway for obvious reasons (like the scottish will warm you for nothing...) Thx for the video, now I can sleep again knowing which waterfall it was.😊

Thanks Steve, I've done this walk myself, luckily it was in August on a lovely warm day. I remember getting to the foot of the Falls and being attacked by a swarm of midges 🦟, not a problem you would of had 😁, I ran out of there sharpish! Beautiful place, the Glen Nevis camp site is also worth a mention, excellent site 👍
I remember seeing Glen Nevis campsite from a distance and thinking it looks awesome and of course in a perfect location! Hopefully a few days holiday there this year :)
Along a treacherous path in a hoolie with our Steve, that's certainly an adventure! Then he ends up in a cell! Glen Nevis is amazing, but can be quite midgy in summer. I wonder where Steve is going in part 2.
Done that walk and love the falls - a few dodgy areas en route - Also done that Gondola as I love heights - The top section of the Eiffel Tower is the worst as external and cramped.

Haha, last time I went to Steall falls it was also chuckin' it down and the ground was full of ice and I also chickened out at that wire bridge, lol. But if it rains in Fort William I usually go west (road to the isles, along Glen Finnan, to the left (Silver Sands of Morar, Camusdarach Beach) shortly before Mallaig. And there at the coast there's more sunshine.
Did the walk last year from the lower car park. Worth mentioning that there are several small bridges with a 3 ton weight limit between the lower car park and the upper one. and there is not much room to turn around. Larger motorhomers/campervans should park at the lower car park and take some change to make a donation for the car park upkeep. If visiting Fort William - a trip on the Jacobite train to Mallaig is a must ( you can take a normal service train but it goes faster and its just not the same). If you have a bicycle with you - a cycle ride along the canal to the Commando memorial at Spean Bridge is a nice cycle ride along mostly flat terrain
Wonderful. I will be there in a few week and may take a look a the Falls. I dislike Fort William but perhaps I should use it as a base and look around more.
Weather a bit better today. Hopefully you missed the hail showers! Closing in tomorrow for 48H so I hope you are heading home?.Next time you are up head to 'Castle Tioram' out Acharacle way. I'll keep an eye out for your van. 😊
That long line of B&Bs along the southern entrance road to Fort William should be avoided at all costs. No Scots accents there! Over vigilant parking inspectors can dull the welcome to FW, too. The colours along your walk were great, Steve; winter in the Highlands can be severe but it's always an interesting challenge.
Crikey Steve. Nobody would persuade me to do that crazy walk. It looks lethal. perhaps Im too old and soft now. Well done. I have alsways thought Fort William to be rather uninspiring and a bit drab. Not really an exciting destination in itself.
@@steve-marsh Gaelic was introduced to Scotland from Ireland in the 5th century and remained the main language in most rural areas until the early 17th century. Wow, absolutely magnificent! Stunning views, but that walking path terrified me. It would be better in summer but there’s never a guarantee that it wouldn’t rain and be treacherous. You do the hiking for us! The police station repurposing is very clever. The “cell” was charming. I have to wonder what people got up to in Fort William that required so many cells 😂.

Wonderful. I will be there in a few week and may take a look a the Falls. I dislike Fort William but perhaps I should use it as a base and look around more.
I'm with you there mate!
Weather a bit better today. Hopefully you missed the hail showers! Closing in tomorrow for 48H so I hope you are heading home?.Next time you are up head to 'Castle Tioram' out Acharacle way. I'll keep an eye out for your van. 😊
Cheers! Aye, safely back in (equally stormy) Edinburgh now! I'll certainly head that way next time, cheers!
I was getting a little concerned for you on your walk back from the falls. 🥶
Ha me too Thomas :D
Remember to like the video folks, it helps to get more like it.
THANK YOU so much for the support :)
Brill vid mate
Cheers Adrian! :)
Aye totally Alexander! People think I'm mad when I say winter is my favourite season :)
How far is the walk from the carpark Steall falls?
Maybe try a visit to the deer centre cupar or the alpaca centre also near cupar
Two great suggestions I hadn't seen though about! Thank you :)
I love your videos! :) When did you film this?
Thank you! 10th February 2022.
@@steve-marsh That was some brutal weather you had. I will be going upcoming week!
Was this last Saturday? Weather was shocking here in Fort William. Sunday was dry though and I got my first walk in weeks .
This one was on Thursday last week, glad the weather finally turned!
How long to walk there from the car park?
From memory no more than 30 mins
Alicha would have crossed that bridge🤣🤣
It's the sad truth...
Crikey Steve. Nobody would persuade me to do that crazy walk. It looks lethal. perhaps Im too old and soft now. Well done. I have alsways thought Fort William to be rather uninspiring and a bit drab. Not really an exciting destination in itself.
So true mate - but lots of wee gems around it that I'm only now discovering :) Haha you'd be fine on the walk I'm sure :)
@@steve-marsh I would love to think you are right Steve. I would deffo give it a try.
@SteveMarsh
Itt is pronounced as Stayll
Cheers Rupert - continuing my long tradition of pronouncing places wrong in my own country!
@@steve-marsh Gaelic was introduced to Scotland from Ireland in the 5th century and remained the main language in most rural areas until the early 17th century. It was outlawed by the crown in 1616, and suppressed further after the Jacobite rebellion of 1745. We had to learn it in school but very few can speak it, except in parts of the west.
we had to turn back, the weather was pretty much the same as you have, so not too bad, we had proper footwear and clothing, just my fear of heights, got to the part at ruclips.net/video/clTxIaXKc4s/видео.html 2.04 and that was it, one slip and your a gonna, so no way was I going to attempt, that rock looked so slippy
Oh I'm sorry to hear it! Seems like that weather is pretty common!
I think you were quite right not to cross the bridge, too scary in the snow,
Absolutely, but itching to get back to this spot in Summer :)
What a day Steve. You must have been frozen 🥶 Fantastic shots of the hills and waterfalls. Great to look back on once your back at your digs for the night. 😴
I'm so glad I wasn't in the van that night! Well worth the money to be dry and warm :)
Your so lucky to live in such a amazing place like Scotland those views were stunning and kean finds it hard to believe its in Scotland in fact so do I and the hotel you stayed in was amazing kean definitely wants to stay there its a shame about the weather but thank you for making the effort to show us the amazing places Scotland has to offer and kean asks did you see any dinosaurs in the mountains bless him thank you for another fantastic video and entertaining my boy and me stay safe and keep smiling from joff and kean
Sorry I tried to reply to this but it dint seem to work!? Hey Kean! The dinosaurs were hiding from me, but thankfully they only eat all that grass and not humans :)
@@steve-marsh hi Steve and thanks for taking the time to reply it means so much to kean that you take the time to reply to him How's the weather up there it's blowing a hooley down here thank you entertaining my boy stay safe out there from joff and kean
Great trip as usual . I must say that I like tagging along. Can t wait for the next episode.😀👍👍
You're very welcome :) Next one out soon I hope!
Absolutely stunning! And as a Canadian, I thought the snow was a nice touch :)
Cheers! But you have REAL snow :)
Haha a wild place Heather and not just the weather :)
I am currently isolating due to Covid and I came across your videos and find them very enjoyable to watch keep up the good work!
Hey welcome aboard Scott! Hope you've not got it bad and are recovering well :)
@@steve-marsh Somedays are better than others but overall recovering well thank you 😊
Steve, I wouldn't take that walk on the driest summer day! It was most interesting to see the glen in winter but I think I'd find it more appealing in summer. Any chance you'll return on a sunny, summer day?
Absolutely! I've heard it's a lovely spot for a swim and picnic in summer - hard to believe!
