I love that you keep the socks! I did the same for my daughters, and now we have passed on many of my daughters clothes to my nieces, and it is so heartwarming to see them wearing the cozy PJs and clothes. My girls were pretty easy on things so they have gotten lots of uses over the years. The socks only lasted about two children though lol.

Decluttering and organizing feels so good. I always like to go through my containers with stored clothes for the upcoming season before I start thrifting. That way I know what I have. I'm so glad to hear that you pass on clothes from one daughter to the next. I know people who don't save the clothes and shopping for new is so expensive.

I had a yard sale one time in my life and I said I would never do it again and I haven't. You are right about the amount of work that goes into one. I am very happy for you.

I am in the same season, girl! We just went through a whole house declutter and had a larger scale Garage sale as well! Having a garage sale was a huge motivator for us to let go of what we don't need and also was so rewarding to see others walk away with our beloved items with the joy of getting a great deal ❤ During our annual community wide garage sale, we play Christian radio and it is so amazing how just doing that welcomed people to open up about Christianity at our sale and ask for prayer. In a unique way, God has used our garage sale to do ministry to others.
Examples of situations people have opened up about:
    - a woman buying frames opened up about her son that just died of covid and she was buying the frames to decorate his room with photos of him. We prayed with her for the hard season she was in. And she felt so loved by the time she left.
    - another lady on the way to her brother's grave saw our sign and decided to stop in. She said she felt so down on her way there and that our kindness really uplifted her today. She felt that God meant for her to come to our sale.
    - a gentleman came by and saw we were selling quite a few Christian books. He bought a few books and came back just to talk with us. He said he appreciated hearing our Christian music and started asking about suggestions for churches and online sermons.
    - a woman said she felt so lost in life. She felt so lonely since the pandemic and she decided to finally get out and go to a garage sale. We encouraged her that God has a plan for her and that she is so special to God. After speaking with us she said, "there ARE good people in the world! I really needed a reminder of that today"
Many many moments like this happened where God used our garage sale so we feel so led to keep decluttering and having garage sale every year. 🎉

Kristen, when that spider fell out on to the floor, I would hv turn off the camera, jerked that iron bed away from the wall & slayed that Spider.
A spider on sight, throws my adrenaline into severe overdrive!
I would not hv slept in that room until I knew it was really gone. I live in an old house & if you don't act fast, they disappear into the baseboards.
Sorry to the people that spare them, can't do it.
Loved the two dressers that came from diff sides of the family, look

I love the motivation to purge but I really am giving my opinion on your couches. It’s been my dream to get a beautiful white performance fabric sofa. On my last sofa maybe 2 years ago I chickened out and got a caramel leather one that I love but it isn’t extremely comfortable. So we moved recently and now I have a second living area and I just bit the bullet and did it. I love it but I had almost went with the green you have. I say stick with it, you can always go back to white later, it’s so stunning in your room. This definitely was a top contender for me.

I learned if something had been in the closet for a while to shake it out before putting it on. We had two sons 4 yrs apart. Like you, I saved everything from the oldest that he outgrew (that wasnt beyond saving) and boxed them up (no totes back then) in the top of closets for the youngest. When we started raising 2 of our grandsons (also 4 yrs apart in age) I did the same thing. With all of the boys I had to stop when they reached the teen yrs (where we are now with the grands) because their styles became so different.

As far as shoes for our children and us,( we had 5 boys and 1 girl,) so each family member had 1pr for everyday, 1pr for school /2nd best, and 1 pr for Sunday, and a pr of winter boots. Also we didn't buy clothes unless we absolutely needed it. We did laundry 2 times a week. So that way we didn't have an overwhelming amount of clothes and I never had to purge clothes.

Your try on of clothes you were parting with had me smiling. Felt like I was sitting across from a girlfriend! Especially the crop top piece😂 you crack me up.

My friend just suggested we do joint yard sale to help declutter our homes. This video might just be my sign to get to business and declutter!
Sorting thru the kids' clothes is always difficult for me bc we want to have more kids, but I probably keep WAY too much anyway.
Never had a problem with my kids losing shoes, but we buy only barefoot/minimal shoes (and they're pricey) so we keep their shoe count low. They take them off and put them away as soon as we walk inside the house.
