I've been to the Philippines more than once. I'm married to a Filipina. There's not a single sign that's not in English at stores, doctors offices, hospitals, road signs..name the sign. It's in English. My wife has a bachelor's degree and speaks five languages including Chinese Mandarin. She wasn't wealthy at all. She was from the province. Oh and she's been to more countries than me

The most educated people are found in the philippines, even those who works at the mall or kargador or those who works at the bar has a degree, they can’t just find a job that suits their degree bceuase of the lack of employment in the philippines,so instead of just being tambay they accept any job as long as they have salary rather than nothing. In the UK,US arab countries and other countrie most nurses are from the philippines,go to any cruise and you can find a handfull of filipino crew. Simple fact: Filipinos who have a college degree will surely speak English, for the simple reason that 99.9% of the books pertaining to their studies are written in English. Classroom discussions, exams, laboratory exercises, etc. are all done in the English language. One can't have a college degree if one can not understand English.

Asian women are thought household chores when they are young because their mothers don't want them to know nothing about being a wife and mother to their own kids. It's a way to prepare them for their future whether they want a career or not. That is why asian women are tough and brave. And let's face it, Filipinos are one of the best race to get mixed in with. Have you ever seen a Half-Filipino, Half-Foreign baby? They grow up so beautiful/handsome, smart and talented. If you ask me, that's why foreigners love Filipinas, they get a caring wife, good lover, loving mother, a strong woman and to top it off, can give them a darn good looking baby.

Spread love girl, your race experienced bullying in an extreme level, don't include Asians or SA in this kind of cycle. 😂 Yes others might be thinking they will have a good life with foreigners, but you are also kind of like that to men you want to date girl. You want the best and someone who can support you. Don't be a hypocrite okay? Don't generalize. In fact though, more Filipinas are even good in taking care of their family while working as that's the norm. We multi-task in our lives. Others just want to live and enjoy their lives, and want to have a family. I think this is for everyone, just stop criticizing how people live if they are not really doing something to hurt you. And for men, stop patronizing and following the crowd as well. Always look for the genuine feelings and connection.

But where in the world they teach the slang of a foreign language where the primary goal of most educational institutions is to teach the formal English?! Even poverty does not stop the children here in the Philippines from going to school. It is the duty of all Filipino parents to make sure their children finishes college. I guess those small group of American women made these comments has never travelled out of America and considers only being fluent with "English Slang" as the only criteria to qualify for the word "educated". Shame on them.

Passport bros like us because :
    1. We speak English
    2. We are a bit submissive (just enough to let the neighbors know they are in charge; what's the point of humiliating them)
    3. We do our own nails (save up on those damn nail salons 😅)
    4. Though we do girls night out, we do it responsibly, and we are back on sensible hours
    5. We love going on trips, but more with the family than with our girls.

I am a Filipina married to an American and tell you guys even if he's a professional but his spelling was very bad. When he was writing me love letters I was kinda sarcastic and challenged him for a divorce because of that! Then I heard my sister in law said that she has to train her ears to be able to understand me. So I talked back and said that I speak grammatical English and not a slang so you better learn correct spelling and grammar so you can catch up with me! How's that.

Proud Filipina here in the US. I’m sick and tired of hearing people bashing Filipino accent when speaking English. What about the rest of the world with their own distinctive accent? In my opinion, every one has accent. Those of you who think Filipinos speak very little English, think again. A little can go a long way as opposed to most of you who never ventured outside your little town or at least learn another language. That only proves that those bashers are the ones lacking education. Oh by the way, my family moved here in the US when I was 16. I had to take ESL simply because I transferred from the Philippines. Guess what? My ESL teacher couldn’t beat me in scrabble! 😂😂 It was part of her class. I guess to teach spelling and vocabulary. She ended up telling me I didn’t need that class after all. 😂😂😂

As a foreigner, I know a lot of foreigners and hear many stories of the games Filipinas play with men. Don’t be fooled, a lot of these women are dating foreigners to get out of poverty. They expect you to support their families, cultural differences, petty and small minded thinking is hard to deal with.

We use English and Spanish daily, oh not just daily but every second. 😂 So, now! Who is who? Who has a little English for the two of us. You? Just one language which is yeah English or, me, who know more than one language? mmhh, Madamé? Of course, its you madamé have more English because it is your native language, right? But, you said, speak little English, no education dayon. I'm sure, I can spell and pronounce the word written in English properly than you, madamé 🤣🤣🤣 . For Diós for Santo, madamé, God bless you!

You are considered a nobody by your family, friends and extended relatives without education. Nowadays there are plenty of women that can speak 3-4 languages its their choices to learned if they choose to. But due to culture they are expected to speak to their parents, relatives in Thai. I'm not on Tiktok so I was not aware of the criticism thrown at SEA women. I'm basing this on what I've heard in this video. I'm Filipino. Let's be upfront about why these American women think Filipino women are easy targets for "passport bros". There /are/ a small percentage of Filipino women who come from very poor families who marry foreigners for their way out of the country and out of poverty but if foreign men think these women will be subservient they have another thing coming. They may be poor, they may need your citizenship but don't mistake their tenderness for subservience. Filipinas are usually strong and headstrong. Just look at the Filipino who went with that no neck guy. She may have been poor but she didn't put up with his shit and left him. Women were warriors in Philippine ancient history. In WW2, Filipino women were in the guerilla forces that fought the Japanese. Women are not just in the workforce in the present day; they are in leadership roles. We've already had female presidents, and while America still has yet to elect a woman for president, I hope you will have one soon. With that out of the way, while English is not our first language, English is the medium of instruction in schools. We are not just multilingual, our country has a LOT of languages. The Philippines has one national language but within the country, the different regions have their own languages with their own grammar and unique words. It is normal to speak Filipino and whatever language you have in your region aside from English. Even the poorest of the poor in the Philippines can understand English. If you want to talk about history and culture, ours is an amalgam of Asian nations with which we have a long history of trade. So to those Tiktok "influencers" who think Filipinos and other Southeast Asians are stupid, I have one advice for you, educate yourself so you don't embarrass yourselves online with your ignorance.

They do know that education in the philippines is very competitive even at the elementary level, right? I mean I went to private school (Born and raised in PH, then moved to US when I was in middle school) where they literally divide students into class sections of highest grades to lowest grade for the next year according to your current score grades of your current year. With the emphasis of high education at a young age, most students wants to finish with a college degree. The only thing stopping them might be poverty if they still couldn't get in by scholarships.
