I participated in an urban bird survey earlier this year in Toronto and one of my survey points was in a wealthier neighbourhood. It was the worst, every time I was there is was nonstop construction equipment in the background with different lawn crews starting and stopping all around me. Also they'd show up and cut lawn when there was nothing to cut, and they still have a guy on the blower, blowing around basically nothing.
I bought an 80V string trimmer this summer after years of not wanting to fork over the cash for one. After using it for about 20 minutes gas trimmers are dead to me!
The lower noise from electric mowers is one of the main reasons I'm considering dumping my landscaping company and mowing my own lawn with an electric mower. I don't like mowing, but I hate the amount of noise they make in the middle of the day.
That app you're using is not accurate, I have whisper series tools and there way more quieter than gas, My neighbors tell me they can't hear anything, I think it's 60 to 70% quieter than gas.

Ya look at the chart. I think it said 80 is 4 times louder than 70. So that means it’s 400% louder not 87% louder
I just know My neighbors can't hear me when I'm doing my yard, I can always tell when her guy is working with the gas tools.
