The playdate looks like it could be interesting. Some of the games on it look interesting, like Wastebraver, Solar Descent, Legend of Etad, and Dragon Hunt Adventure. I'd also want to see if the Playdate has any fishing games, it would probably be a great format for them considering the crank.
I love the Playdate, I've made my game Rocket Bytes as well as a few other jam games for it and right now I'm working on a project I think will turn out pretty well for it
Literally did so 5 hours after posting Suddenly eBay U.K got a bunch added and for less than it would cost shipping from the states so I'll take that Should get it in time for my birthday too as that's my gift to myself lol

Ive just Subscribed to this wonderful channel because of this Playdate games review, hope and please do more playdate games reviews in the future, ... AND ... Ive VERY suprised you havent reviewed 'Dave the Diver', with it being the best indie title of this year and that ....
Sadly there support sucks… and internationally shipping costs more then 80 dollars… making it around 280 … that’s 80 dollars more then a Nintendo Switch lite…
I feel like the crank makes it kinda awkward to pocket. Even if it tucks away a lil. I think I'd be less inclined to carry it in a pocket, than a device twice as thick and taller like my miyoo mini plus
I also thought that the crank was a dumb gimmick and did not care about it at all when picking this up, only wanting to make video games for it but after playing games like rocket byte and core fault I realized it is an incredible control mechanism.
@@IDreamofIndie Just got mine and funny enough stumbled across this video again only to see my comment haha. Grand Tour Legends, A Joke thats worth .99 cents, and Crankin's time adventure have been really fun. I've also just sideloaded some free games off itch and can't wait to play those
I love the idea of the device, but most games on it from what I have seen are terribly over priced for what they offer. There are tons of deeper and better games on android for 1-4 dollars. I understand the market is smaller so no one wants to sell their games for less...but i mean at least add more content to the games you make to charge that price? Idk could be just me
It's not exactly a back-of-the-box value proposition, but for what it's worth PD is a platform that has lots of potential for future developments, and a very engaged & friendly community of devs if you're into that sort of thing.

They're Portland-based but I guess Seattle is relatively nearby.
I appreciate that you spoke about these games in some level of detail, and not simply explaining exactly how the game works and then moving on.
