The song in this episode that I played is called "Dance Me," by Maya Eliza. You can search for it on any streaming platform (Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc), or it's on Spotify here: open.spotify.com/track/0XElsh...
Magic Carpet II is a Cape George 36, built in Port Townsend, WA in 1982. Her hull and ballast were built by Cape George Marine Works, and the rest was finished by the original owner.

Thank you so much for encouragement about the music. It just fills my heart with joy to be back playing again. Balance is definitely getting restored in our lives. If you're interested in hearing this song again, I'd be honoured if you searched for it on whatever streaming platform you usually use. Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, whatever. The title is "Dance Me" and the artist is "Maya Eliza." Or, if you use Spotify, you can just click this link: open.spotify.com/track/0XElshUmZNSe1EfHWfhMr8?si=b1a43980bb5d4786
I absolutely love this song. Wow! The fairies dance when you play!
Love that you are finding balance. Beautiful songs. I cannot find them on YT music though. Only 5 of your songs are there.
Yes I have added your musical pieces to my playlusts on Spotify, and also following Maya Eliza.
I have said it before, but I still believe that "Magic Carpet II" will be the best Cape George in existence. The tremendous amount of work and attention to detail is more and more evident. Soon she will be taking you out to play with the waves, making you the envy of the sailing world. Yes Maya's music is so enjoyable and relaxing, and for me mesmerizing.
Couldn't agree more!
I’m happy to have Maya and her sister back playing beautiful music. The boat is coming along beautifully thanks to both of your skilled work.
I’m really enjoying the updated format of Maya performing while still showing work on the boat. It strikes a happy balance.
AH, the twins, a joy to my ears and eyes.
All is coming along really beautifully.
Totally
As a wood worker myself I just have to say I love the warmth of the wood and how comfortable the interior of your boat looks. Really will be a beautiful boat. When you get up in the morning after a good nights sleep and look at everything you will say it was so worth the blood, sweat, and tears!
Some might say that the cabinets make the space too dark and claustrophobic. I strongly disagree. They are beautiful, as beautiful as the work of Vermont furniture builders. I love those cabinets, and so functional also for that space.
There is something about wood that bring you close to creation. Paint it and its claustrophobic..
I have to say I can’t do woodwork but what you’ve done with your watercraft is art on a level above anything I’ve seen on water craft I have seen. The exterior is so simple and clean it can’t help to be an efficient sailboat. Congrats.
Between the craftsmanship and the music it is indeed
“magic”
Maya, I am so glad to see and hear you preforming on the violin again. You are both artists at what you do….
MC II is getting more and more beautiful every week. The woods are gorgeous and as bulkheads and ceiling are white, the global ambience is still bright, which is great to feel good, in my opinion.
This refit has been a long term work but it was definitely worth it 👍
Beautiful musical accompaniment to the video
Agreed. Maya makes some of the best soundtracks on RUclips.
Thank you so much
Wonderfully mellow and clearly from the heart.
a spotify playlist with the featured music used on the videos would be awesome!@@Stupha_Kinpendous
Have you noticed the shape of the combing resembles the sweep of a treble clef? How appropriate, a nod to the wonderful music you make.
Love 'Dance me'! It's part jazz, part narrative, part r&b, but the minors give it a melancholy feel. It's as if you are wondering about life without boat work! And you look soooo much happier.
The music of Maya Eliza is something you would hear drifting across the playa at Burning Man during a dust storm.
You need to add a scupper aft. Rain will collect under that aft section and when on the hard would collect and stagnate without proper drainage. Unless you are a boat owner you really can’t appreciate the pain of standing water over time.
Great to have Maya share her passion in music as we witness her willingness to perform the otherworldly chores associated with transforming Magic Carpet with Alidono
The beauty of each step of MC's restoration is beyond description in words...she just grows in magnificence each day...I cannot begin to comprehend your love and pride in this monumental endeavor. You both deserve to accept all accolades for believing in and achieving the dream you set out to make happen. I am in awe of you both and have been blessed to have found your channel. I hope to experience the culmination of this dream with you when she is launched and your new dreams begin ❤...God's blessing be with you. Mary Claesson
So amazing to see the details of how you got to where you are now! Beautiful updates and beautiful song!
Thanks Allen :) And thanks for all your help!
I love finding Sailing Magic Carpet in my feed every Friday! I love it even more when Maya is playing ! Love your Music! It was a great idea to layer that with your boat work! I have to watch it twice. Once not to miss anything you have filmed and again with my eyes closed listening to a piece of Heaven!!!! Thank you for all you both do! Magic Carpet II is coming along nicely !!!
Really nice to see you both much happier. Indeed a rare and beautiful thing today. You are really a breath of fresh air. Thank you. Oh and the music wonderfull.
Your's from across the pond UK
Ken
Thanks for sharing your journey every week. I like the way of your storytelling a lot, no drama (not more than necessary) and beautiful music. I appreciate beauty of boat building you both are showing a lot. Thanks!
DITTO I feel the same way as many , or all of others that commented. The boat is a work of art! The music is very soothing also. I thought of the sound the water might make when it slams into the end of the coming, I might be worrying about nothing. A floating museum in progress!
Yay. More music. I love it! The workmanship you two are putting into this boat is just captivating.
Maya, Huge high five for all your tenacity and artistry! Just remember, patina, scratches, flat notes, are all part of learning and signs of a well lived life where we take risks and try new things! Well done from a fellow sailor and aspiring musician.
A music genius and a boat building genius. What a rare strange combination. We love it!
I love the haunting nature of the music...well done!
Thank you!!
Thanks for letting us join you on your way towards one of your life dreams.
Thank you also for the nice music/work mix you´ve made.
The addition of beautiful music and ethereal singing to go with the sanding of the dresser made it seem almost poetic ( which I am sure it wasn't). Does look so much better now. All so worth it. She is going to be a real beauty this little ship. You two remind me of how Lyn and Larry Psrdy treated gheir beautiful wooden boat. Love and dedication and attention to detail. Tv 😊😊😊
Tv? was a typo ??? 😂
....oooo.... ....getting into the really fun woodwork .... this is really neat !!!! Thanks for all the Fun !!! : )
Love the excellent craftsmanship in a world that just bangs stuff out. There's no other way to achieve such warmth and beauty. The same thing is true of Maya's music which I love as much as the craftsmanship. So beautiful! Thank you!
Maya has her groove back! Such fun videos the last few. Visible progress is such an inspiration for you guys.
Maya playing her violin is integral to my enjoyment of this channel. Of course I appreciate Aladino’s mastery of boat building and the aesthetics of a beautiful older boat but it is the music that provides the magic in magic carpet II
Excellent interior music from your boat.... thank you to spread it out to all us.... thanks a lot..!!
One thing that makes me wonder about the state of things are how insanely focused on getting all the tiny details just right to make the result end up being perfect or close to it. Seeing such dedication to the details is something I have rarely seen and I'm half a century old. I always knew that this focus was out there in the world, but in the country where I live such wonderful focus is something that never happen. Here it's about getting thing right as fast as possible and as long as it's okay it's fine.
Later in life I realized the issue is deep inside the core skills and how you were taught to do them, my grandfather was a furniture maker and not even he had your focus to make the details perfect, but he was close. The generations after that, sucks to be honest and most work done, is of shoddy quality at best and barely past an okay standard. It's sad to see, but it's also why it's so wonderful to see you work hard to get it perfect, even if it takes tons more work.
We need more of such inspiring work, so maybe people will learn that it's good to work at being better and getting it right during the first attempt, if they only slow down a little bit.
Brilliant filmmaking! Enticing music by a talented lady! The guy on deck isn’t too bad either! 😊 Thanks for sharing.
Lovely work, as always, Maya and Dino. And so good to hear you say (sort of), that "old" isn't necessarily bad. Coming from an "old man" . . .
Maya! Your music is always from the heart. Written and performed from the heart. And the smile on your face when you said, “However…”was gorgeous. What followed was magic. Thank you! The interior of the boat is beautiful. All that gorgeous wood. It looks very warm and cozy. A very nice, snug home for you and Aladino.
What a wonderful episode, really enjoyed "Dance Me", thank you Maya for a great performance! Playing you now, on Spotify ;)
I love your music, Maya.. And the boat is such a dream of a boat. It is wonderful to see how it completes more and more. All this wonderful craftsmanship from both of you. And Aladino is a real master of a boat builder, wow... I've learned so much by watching your channel. The trick with the little plastic box is again something, I will use. Thank you for sharing! Greetings from Lower Saxony, Germany...
I love Fridays.
Wow just wow !!! I’ve been subscribed to and watching your channel for a couple of years now. I’ve always been greatly interested in the attention to detail that Aledino goes to with his work and your support of the project and whilst I have been aware of your musical abilities, these last two videos musical accompaniments really are sublime especially this one there’s some much feeling to it which I can’t help but think is driven by the project and the trial’s tribulations and frustrations it has bought to you both. I’m so glad your nearing the end of the refit and sincerely look forward to future videos of you both enjoying the fruits of your endeavours accompanied with more great fiddle xxxx
The music works for your videos as a score works for a good movie. What a great idea. Puts your videos in a different league. Well done!
Music was great. You are so talented. Aladino is the boat master and you his equal with your talents. Enjoying the continued journey.
Getting back to your music has definitely brought you into balance. You glow! Thanks...
Just loved the music and the song: it really touches the heart!! The rest goes without saying: so much care and skill involved. Thank you.
The coaming is every bit as gorgeous as I had imagined from your description! Excellent progress.
Sencillamente me encanta como Aladín tiene todos los gatos/sargentas puestas en un travesaño.
Really nice song Maya, a lovely contrast between the hamering MIDI and the organic violin. The two sides of Maya that we have seen all along this project (and even before) in just one song. Marvelous, period.
I simply LOVE the woodwork!
Great to see this beautiful boat coming back to life with such care. My sailing life has been on boats without the warmth of woodwork as much as yours but the sailing part I have loved just as much. Keep up the good work and hope to see you sailing soon!
Finally, friday again! Your videos are always something to look forward to for the entire week and you never disappoint.
Wow, Matthias you have no idea how much we appreciate that. THANK YOU.
Wow....just wow!!! This channel is one of the most satisfying channels on youtube IMO. With a love of sailing, projects and beautiful music by talented and creative musicians, to me, it checks all the boxes. Maya and Dino, you are both beautiful people, inside and out and I look forward to every single episode you two put out. I'm really surprised that you guys don't have millions of followers. If you don't think your content is not that successful, well then you are only looking at the destination and not the journey, because to me, your destination "IS" the journey. 😺
Wow. Thank you so much for such kind words!!!
Hay Maya love the Music you playing and the Sailboat is coming long great!!!! Love the Video.Brent Gordon of Canada.🙂🌷⛵🎶🎻🎹
Maya, I love your music composition this week, having all the different mediums. It’s a beautiful song.
Love the plastic box for lining up the drill.
Learn something new everyday. Gary in Japan
I really like that you are creating your own sound track to your work videos. I am both a woodworker and musician so it’s a win win. . I hope you continue doing music when you start sailing. I envision making music with folks you meet, like way back in Sweden. A soundtrack of wonderful music from all over the world.
It's all coming together, great job. And, Many Mayas is always a treat!
Really makes a big difference. Enjoying being onboard.
I really like the cabinet refinished. You have done amazing work on the staining and finishing.
Song was great !!! Both of you are great at your many talents.great video!! Boat is looking fantastic!!
Fair winds
Stunning boatwork ,Stunning interior ,Stunning music, boat is a work of craftmanship cant wait to see you guys under full sails cheers from Australia !!
I can't wait to see you playing the violin while sailing the ocean in such a beautiful vessel!!
Aladino is my Refit Hero, he is always a step closer to the end as me. i have learned very much of him. Thanks!
Your music is always so beautiful Maya, and the work you both do as well.👏❤🥂
The boat is getting along nicely. One day she will be an eyecatcher. And Maya, loved Dance Me. As a guitarist I did try to compose music and the comments were: "It's Gaelic". I feel the same about your music. Luve it!
Oooh Port Townsend Foundry, a crossover with my other favourite youtube boat restoration channel, Sampson Boat Co. Both doing wonderful work.
Love the shape of the coamings! So great to see and hear Maya's music. I could listen to that all day!
Great music
Great workmanship
Beautiful boat ..
Another very good episode. Love the boat work & your music! Also your camera work & editing skills are a class above other boat channels.
I like you guys. So, I am an old guy. But I have installed many new crate engines in various applications. You must go over and check torque on all fuel water and oil connections before you install any major components especially the engine. The factory often will let you leak. Double clamp when you can. Run the engine to operating temp and drain assembly oil and filters before. No matter what manual says. Properly torque drain plug. This will help avoid any leaks and give peace of mind. Just my experience, an old mechanic. Thanks
That was a lovely episode 👊🏻
Well done. Although you are doing three things at once. I enjoy your music and emphasis on beauty and balance.
Again a great melody!
Lovely work....a bit of old East Europe in stye...!
Well done clip as usual!
That musical talent is superbly enjoyable
Selling your music, particularly original music, is a pleasant change from the t-shirt so many utube channels push
Great video you guys....starting to look like there is an end in site....beautiful workmanship every where....Maya it's nice to see you back in the groove again ...Thank You
Well I guess the long hours and hard work is starting to pay off... looks great!!
Loving multiplying Mayas!
Beautiful music! Wonderful varnish work and expert boat work!
Loved the duet with yourself!
The open layout aft deck design is a big improvement, well worth the effort that want into re shaping the woodwork.
You guys are doing a fantastic job. That is turning out to be a beautiful boat
Raising W/L smart , drill jig brilliant, thanks, & music as always a pleasure …
Great attention to detail producing quality results - still can't wait until the launch and the further adventures. 🙂
Outstanding boatbuilding progress ... and such wonderful music!
The new coamings remind me of f-holes on a violin. Kinda perfect.
Beautiful work guys, to perfection as usual. Passion!
Always love the music and being from Texas, love that you know how to fiddle as well. Great talent.
Handrails are beautiful Maya. Great job!
Thank you, Maya.
HAPPY FRIDAY! I am so glad seeing both of you enjoying yourselves. Thank you for sharing.
Love the Music and the work done!!! Artistry in every way....Well Done.
Your both talented craftsmen/women, one with wood the other with music.. A great match, enjoy your videos. Lee Australia
i am loving the woodwork in its orange and reds, its really popping in colour and depth, it comes across in the film very well, absolutely glorious and so well worth all the effort gone into it - i think most of my life at some point or another i have been surrounded by poor furniture, old, beaten and dark in colour, a boat like this deserves such high quality colourful furniture, great work Maya
i am loving the designs for the upper cockpit combings, i guess there is some kind of drainage at the rear end where it meets the edge of the hull/footrail - i wondered how you might finish off the top thinking of water following the deck down the sides to the cockpit, its going to be a wonderful functional piece of furniture and look great, i wondered if you might add a little flare on that upper piece to roll off the rear end over the side, like a curl, that would be very creative and become a feature
can't wait to see that finished
Loved the performance Maya.
Both of you in your happy places! Such a good video in every way! Getting closer!
Once again, I enjoyed the music so much. It adds more enjoyment to the video, which, by the way, I also enjoyed a great deal.
Brilliant plastic box hack!
¡Viva, Magic Carpet!
Beautiful work you two. Can't wait to see her done & in the water.
I love your music! I just purchased "Dance Me." I am looking forward to you both getting back to sailing. I enjoy the building process because you both do such great work.
MC looks so much more spacious now since the interior is coming together. At least imo
