      The dog image, when starring at it there's definitly depth in the image and no dedoubling. It's most definitly stereoscopic. But there is no object in it... Weird.

    Didn't expect that service disk to contain officially licensed cars of that caliber. An F50, a Viper, and an F1 car still with branding on it must have been a nice chunk of money to license just for a small demo. Still really awesome to see though.

  • @ShonicTHedgehog

    Hey buddy! Just a heads up, the Re-arranged OST does appear to be an officially licensed product. The one you looked up (and included a screenshot of) is from a company called “Miya Records”, a well-known bootlegging company. If your disc has one of their codes on it (like MICA-0064), your disc specifically would be an unofficial release. The official release of this album was actually released by Tokuma Japan Communications by the look of it.
    Feel free to let me know if you want more info, I have accidentally obtained a few Miya Records bootlegs of Sonic OST’s over the years. :)

      Also, another little thing I forgot to mention but with regard to the GameCube system menu, the BGM is actually a super slowed down Famicom Disk System startup jingle. I thought I should point that out as you didn’t have that in the video.

    • @dr.velious5411
      @dr.velious5411 7 лет назад +5

      Ultimate_Gamer C25 You can actually still play DVDs via a wii homebrew app, it was a bit of a mess last I checked, but probably a bit better now.
      Would have been nice if it came enabled by default though.

    • @Dd-gi5lm
      @Dd-gi5lm 7 лет назад +1

      I know about that, I'm just curious if someone could make the unfinished Wii Firmware Bootable...

    • @dontegraves5051
      @dontegraves5051 6 лет назад +6

      I wouldn't recommend even trying to watch DVDs through the Wii. DVDs are directly linked to killing the PS3 disc drive after extended periods of time. With something like the Wii, which already spins discs at absurd rates of speed to compensate for the console's lack of memory, it will quadruple the amount of stress on the console. Your Wii probably wouldn't last longer than a few weeks if you attempted watching DVDs through it reguarly. Either the lens will burn out or the disc drive fails immediately.

    Great video, love your content!
    Just a note on the Ocarina of Time album. The original release is actually official and licensed by Nintendo. Your copy is a bootleg, which you can see by the catalog number on the back. Yours is KO-99117, while the original is TKCA-71824. There are at least two more bootlegs of this album with other catalog numbers, and the one you have shown in the screenshot from Discogs is one of them, from a taiwanese bootleger label called Miya Records. So yeah, Discogs is right about that one being a "Unnoficial Release", hahaha :D

    I'm fairly sure they weren't officially licenced sponsors. It's pretty common to use reference materials like official cars when testing rendering, it happens pretty often. Also since this wasn't a commercially available demo, just for internal use. They would not have to pay licencing. Also getting a Ferrari in a game around 2000 was near impossible, and very expensive.

      @SYratherripped 7 лет назад +3

      Well that one country has more people speaking English as a first language then the other countries combined. And B isn't pronounced "Bed", yet comes from the Greek word Beta (Like Z and Zeta). Stop being stubborn and pretentious. Languages evolve. And those countries you mentioned, their native tongue's never evolved from any form of English unless they adopted it and changed it to their own "English". So to insinuate that we are changing the language is completely hypocritical.

    I remember in the Gamecube's manual, there was an image of Super Mario 64 in the menu. Whether it was a just a placeholder image or they actually used it for testing on the Gamecube's hardware, I have no clue, but it always confused me when I was younger, thinking there was a Gamecube port.

  • @HallowSL
    @HallowSL 7 лет назад

    If you take a look into the Gamecube SDK, there is some more evidence of them using N64 stuff for testing, as there's a 3DS Max file from 2001 of the Pokemon Stadium 2 Sandshrew model along with it's idle animation. There are only a few other things in here that are also in the Service Disc files, "ZebraA" has most of the SDK compiled formats for the Zebra, which the SDK also has a 3DS Max file for as well. The SDK also has the car demo, but none of the Cars' original max files are in the version of the SDK I've looked through.

    Today I learned Nintendo published a Gamecube disc with a model of a Soviet multirole helicopter on it.

    The F1 car model shown here appears to be a Lotus 107, which raced in F1 between mid-1992 and early 1994. The Ford logo further narrows it to 92 or 93, as the team changed engines for 94. The livery and sponsorship seem to correlate best to the 1992 design.

    I know this is a year old, but you forgot to mention if you speed up the ambient music on the menu (I believe you called it the IPL), you'll get the boot up music for the Japanese famicom.

    9:44 That's a Timberwolf/Mad Cat mech from the Battletech/Mechwarrior franchise. What the hell is it doing in something Nintendo related? And yes, the other mech is a Gundam.

    I dunno if someone has pointed this out but "kingin" is probably kin and gin, meaning gold and silver respectively, rather than "king-in". You're probably right about it referring to Pokemon Stadium (or Pokemon Stadium 2, in this case).

    Or you know the dolphin could represent jotaro kujo. Because at the end of DIU the narrator hints at jotaro working for Nintendo to develop a console in the future.

    They likely used quake because it was a revolutionary FPS, so nintendo had something to cater to an older audience in their tests. Quake had a lot of great 3D effects too.
