Unfortunately some of the driver ratings were wrong in the final graphic at the end of the video! (McLaren drivers and the return of Daniel Ricciardo 😂) will be fixed for next time!
@@AB-tf2ik It does feel/seem like that’s the case with a decent amount of F1 RUclipsrs/commentators etc. That Lando gets treated as if he’s delicate/made of glass. Meanwhile they don’t seem to have any issue criticising George, and sometimes making something that happened involving George a bigger deal than it actually is.
hold on Matt, let me get this straight. Lando: 1. couldn't overtake Piastri in the sprint 2. loses the lead in turn 1, lap 1, yet again. 3. couldn't overtake Russell 4. asks to pit way before, while Russell was asking to stay out. 5. loses positions yet again on the Safety Car restart, and again has to be let go ahead of Piastri 6. loses the WDC. and he gets a 6, while Leclerc gets a 7??? 😂 Is there any sense to these lol. At least Tommy gave an 8 to Leclerc and a 5 to Norris.
yeah but piastri had more luck because of the vsc stop and norris on pace was above him, even if they messed up the red flag stop, it's still hard to predict and he lost a lot cause of that. piastri also finnished behind lawson I think because of his 10 seconds penalty that he made on his own. he also didn't defend against max at all when he's supposed to help his teammate. he did win the sprint pretty much and had to let norris trough, norris bottled 3 starts, but still was faster overall. it's a matter of opinion but imo both did not have a good weekend. I get that norris messes up a lot, but mosy weekend he still ends up in front of piastri and is faster overall. that one was hard to evaluate because of the chaos and the sprint factor but honestly both had bad races.
@@bibhushanrajthala i mean norris finished in front of piastri and would've even if piastri didn't give him the place because of the 10 seconds penalty to piastri (wait when did the piastri/lawson incident happened ? maybe I'm wrong and they collided after he gave his place to norris and in that case having norris between piastri and lawson would have resulted in no contact or whatever anyway😂.) even if lando messes up time after time, he mostly ends up in front of piastri because of pace. So do you give him less ? even if he finishes in front ?
@@makkert fair. honestly my point is just to respond to people saying that it's not fair lando and oscar have the same grade. for me they both had bad weekends at different times and under different circumstances.
idea for next year: some form of wildcard which each one of you can use once in the season to award a driver with an 11 as a grade when something really special has happened
@@Jamesfrancosdog well a 10 has been given to one or more drivers almost all the races this season (mostly the winner of the gp) so i think an 11 would just give some extra credit for a really outstanding drive
Imagine their position when Alpine was going through that whole turmoil earlier in the season. They must have commiserated a lot. This was cathartic for both of them.
I got quite choked up seeing them hug. That was a genuine show of happiness that I never thought I'd see between them. I don't expect them to turn into bosom buddies, but hopefully it's brought down at least one barrier between them. They've both had a shitty year. (I'm allowed to get emotional, I'm old enough to be their mother. 😂)
Not only that, while lando and herbert keep calling it luck, Lewis in the meantime congratulated max on his amazing drive on the socials. Wholesome moments galore!
Yeah, there must be a little British bias with Matt and Tommy. No way is 8th to 8th on par with 1st to 6th... Lando has horrifically bad, while Pistri was just bad

Lando didn't get "unfortunate" with the red flag, he chose to pit. George got unfortunate because he was pitted by his team despite clearly saying that the red flag is coming.
Its still unfortunate. Doesnt matter if he wanted to pit. To get a red flag after a pitstop is always unlucky. And Max got lucky because of it. Those are facts. But those facts dont diminish the incredible race Max had. I get that a lot of people are mad because of the things lando said but its just dumb to completely ignore the impact the red flag had. Why cant we just appreciate the impressive pace and overtakes max showed without acting like luck didnt change the results?
@@akkche3tah106 I don't even mind Lando's comments that much, the bloke did just lose the Championship title. I just think that there is a proper skill in determining the safety of track conditions in regard to red flags and such events, and calling it luck, or calling the lack of said skill "unfortunate" is a bit shallow. The red flag wasn't caused by a crash, which would have been mostly unpredictable, but too much water collecting on track.
@@akkche3tah106 I agree that to some level it always is some degree of gambling. But educated guesses are more then just a roll of the dice. Like mr. Milseq says in his comment: based on experience one can predict what is a red flag situation. Doesn't mean you're 100% right all the time, but 75% is already better then random. And luck is what random is.
@@milseq Absolutely agree that Lando's comment is to harshly rated. A young man thought hours earlier that he really found a position to win a WC, and got hit by a painful reality. Who wouldn't be sour after that? How many changes are there for any person on this planet to win a F1 championship. Give the guy a brake after that deception.
@@paperplane-db8qf No, I'm more pointing out that despite the Lando pace he made mistakes enough to find himself behind Oscar who had a pretty bad race.
@@hannah-wd9qn I wasn't talking about the WDC, I'm saying they were talking about Piastri having no pace and a bad race on Sunday and Lando still managed to find himself behind Oscar.
I think you guys were a bit too harsh with Piastri. He had to give up his position once in the sprint and twice in the race. Without it, I do believe he would have a better pace.

Piastri didn’t give up a place in the race. He had a 10s penalty and would lose it regardless. Also he benefitted from the red flag, Lando didn’t. Lando was like 30s ahead of him before the safety car.
he absolutely had a stinker race. the incident with lawson, the overtake of max (atp it would look better if he purposefully didn't fight max bc it was that bad) & letting norris through is something every team would've done bc he still had a penalty so he would've ended behind him anyway
As a Norris fan, I really can’t give him more than a 4/10. His qualifying was good, but we’ve come to expect good qualifying from him, so it’s not very impressive. The race was a disaster, unable to get past Russell despite having more pace, making the wrong call to pit (and doubling down on it after the race), and losing places on every single start. I hope he can learn from this rather than making excuses for his mistakes. Yes, the red flag was unlucky, but he should have known it was a possibility.
I think his performance was a 2/10. Yeah he got pole and 2nd in the sprint but his race was just awful. I see no positives from his race and he lost his shot at the championship. The red flag flipped the race on it’s head yeah, but it’s quite embarrasing going from pole to 6th while Max starting 17th and winning the race.
Average driver ratings in 2024 so far: 8.56 Verstappen 8.18 Norris 8.00 Leclerc 7.83 Piastri 7.67 Bearman 7.58 Sainz 7.50 Russell 7.50 Lawson 7.30 Colapinto 6.98 Hulkenberg 6.95 Alonso 6.85 Hamilton 6.74 Gasly 6.50 Tsunoda 6.13 Albon 5.98 Ocon 5.65 Ricciardo 5.60 Bottas 5.59 Magnussen 4.80 Perez 4.55 Zhou 4.48 Stroll 3.97 Sargeant Not including fan ratings just Matt and Tommy
I genuinely don’t understand what more George could’ve done this weekend ? (Just like Max) He maximised every session Ez 9/10 (maybe nearly a 10 as the call wasn’t on him) If the team listened to him, he likely wouldve won the race with how hard it was to pass AND before he caught Gasly, he was the only one near Max’s pace
10 would've been him choosing to stay out himself. But idk why Merc didn't listen, surely in changeable wet conditions on a track with a new surface the guy actually in the car out there knows best.
Exactly his teammate his Lewis Hamilton. One of the best drivers in the wet and a 7 time WDC. And he made him look like Perez. Easy 10. Russell overdelivered in a car that didn’t make it out of Q1.
100% seeing his onboards before the stop really hurt bc he said multiple times he wants to stay out but when shov came on the radio & told him to box there wasn't much he could do. definitely mourning another win mercedes cost him
Norris is somehow above Max in the power rankings lol. Oscar too is almost level with Charles in those rankings. You can tell whoever comes up with them is a buge Mclaren fan.
Sorry Matt and Tommy, but Lando getting a 6 while Piastri gets a 6 is crazy. Sprint gifted by Piastri, and Pole bottled to P6? On a weekend that pretty much solidified that Lando doesn’t have that killer instinct to ever deserve a WDC. “That’s luck, not skill.” If I had any respect for Lando, it’s all gone after this weekend. I just always had a feeling that he felt entitled to things. You’re not, earn it.
i mean piastri although he was great in the sprint tbh really wasn’t that good in the race i mean the guy started 8th with his teammate on pole and then made an ambitious move that got him a 10 sec penalty whilst not making much progress in the race. i don’t really care much for either driver tbh but i feel like they kind of both weren’t great this weekend
And I also think Lando made more unforced errors than Oscar. I also question his returns to the track which seem to me too often gaining an advantage without a proper investigation.
So according to you qualifying P8 is better than qualifying P1. Finishing P8 is better than finishing P6. Crashing into another driver is not as bad as losing one place at the start and locking up on cold tyres. And he still finished behind Lando. But he needs to be rated higher because Lando lost P1 😂
@@paperplane-db8qf2 teamorders for Oscar in 1 race. He messed up quali and made an ambitious move. That deserves a 5 maybe even. Lando deserves a 4/10 at best. In a race where he should've increased his lead by 10-15 points he instead lost 15.
@@paperplane-db8qf Driver ratings aren't just about where they finished, it's about overall performance over the weekend. Piastri would have won the sprint, and if not for team orders and them not giving Norris a penalty he probably would have beaten Norris in the main race too. Norris messed up on multiple occasions in the race which took him from championship contender to almost certainly not having a chance in the championship, that is why he deserves a low rating. I didn't even see what happened to Piastri in qualifying, after the red flag he did a lap but looked like he abandoned it pretty early? If it was abandoned because of his own error, I'd give him the same overall score as Lando, if it was the team's fault or something on track that slowed him down, I'd give Piastri overall a higher score than Lando this weekend.
Really Matt? 6 for Norris and 5 for Oscar? Oscar literally had to move aside 3 times in 2 races for Lando… and he bottled it and has nothing to show for it. Respect for Matt just dropped to a 5/10
Oscar only moved once. He had a 10s penalty. Imagine finishing P8 and you think a driver who got P6 was worse. Elementary school math is not your strong suit 😂
7 for Lawson?!? Double Q3 and half a second up on Tsunoda in the dry. Punted off in the wet, lost out due to red flag and then defended perez and hamilton for 25 laps. 8 or 9 for me.
Especially when the logic for giving Bearman and Colapinto higher rankings than their team mates was that they have less experience... That was Lawson's 2nd wet race ever, first time driving at Sao Paulo. Got into SQ3 when Yuki didn't get out of SQ1. Qualified 5th in a VCARB. Made zero mistakes in the race when the other rookies were struggling. Not sure how his weekend was any worse than Austin.
Agree, quite harsh on Lawson. Given everything happened in the race, he still finish in points, defended so well against Perez and Hamilton. Didn't really put a foot wrong in the rain, wasn't so far away from Yuki. That is an impressive performance.
@@generalben yup both vcarbs were a 9 for me, even could go 10 for yuki. if they didn't cook their strategy by putting on wets they would have both been 5th or higher with yuki probably getting a podium
That was an 11/10 drive. A literal once in a generation performance. Something that had only happened 5 other times in the entire history of the goddamn sport. People's hatred is capable of clouding their opinions on such tremendous levels it's astonishing.
Lando does not deserve a higher score than Oscar. Lando underperformed and when it counted, failed to keep himself in contention. The only knock against Max's drive is that the red flag throws the idea that he would have still won without it into question. Honestly I'm more impressed with his progress without DRS than anything else, and I won't strenuously argue the 10. Is Daniel Ricciardo still in the graphic @35:48 out of respect, protest or 'someone forgot to update the table'?
How is it 5/10 for Lando though??? He seriously underperformed in the race and i was thinking they’d give him a 2/10. I can’t see anything about positive about his race.
I don't think Stroll lacked knowledge. Fernando's radio message makes me think it is possible Lance binned it on purpose to not race because feelings, and Alonso wanted to highlight to the crew that he respects them enough to drive even through pain. This lines up with my primary Stroll theory which is that I think this is all Daddy's dream, not Lance's. I think we are all being forced into this spectacle because Lawrence wanted to be a race car driver when he was a boy and he is now the low key abusive sports dad living vicariously through his son's sporting career, even if Lance really doesn't want to be there.
As far as i know, Lance is actually pretty decent in Tennis and he likes that Sport. So i dont know why he just dont grow some balls and say "Screw it, i'm gonna go play Tennis instead being an Embarassment to F1"
The worst part is that I genuinely think that Lance has the potential to be a good f1 driver. F3 champion, one of the youngest driver to score a podium (in a Williams), only 3 points behind Masa in his rookie season.... The problem is that he doesn't give a damn because.... Daddy
Respect opinions but feel like Oscar’s been a bit hard done by. Sprint should have the win and then in the race had to give the position back to Lando so they should have at least the same grade if not Oscar to be higher.

Oscar should get higher just because of the sprint race? So qualifying and the main race means nothing then? He was 30s behind before the safety car and red flags And he should be rated higher than Lando? Yeah Zhou should be rated higher than Bottas also.
6 for Norris is generous. By all accounts he had an atrocious weekend where his highs were due to some sheer luck (or misfortune from Max' perspective) and his lows were due to stupdity (pitting for new interns AFTER SC ended was dumb).

I was at this race (first one for me) and what they didn’t capture on TV was the entire crowd, 99,000 people, collectively booing Lance Stroll. It was amazing 😅
wow 😂😂😂 Why were they chanting Drugovich? He’s the Canadian you’d prefer in F1? The worse lance does the more negative energy he will feel. I don’t think anyone is impressed about rich daddy buying and building a team behind him … and then he pulls this shit? Wrecks cars and doesn’t think a thing of it.
- It really makes me sad that some people just cannot give Max the respect and achievement for this incredible drive that he deserves. And that includes Norris even more, who should know better. It was one for the history books, no matter what anyone says. And yes, I say that as a Max fan, but also just an F1 fan. - Ocon and Gasly truly deserve a round of applause for what they achieved, I never would have expected it, and I take my goddamn hat off to them. They should be proud of it, and never forget the result they put down here, bravo to both of them, even if I'm not an Ocon fan. - Lewis I really don't think there's a conspiracy there, nor do I think he's washed, or that it was always just the car for him. i thin kthat Merc has just failed to give him a car he can do in waht we know Lewis can do. I totally do not like the guy, but ass a driver, I will never suggest he is less than he is, even with my issues with him. I do not think he'll do THAT much beter at Ferrari, but I could definitely be wrong. - Russell is always so close, yet still makes those errors, still loses out sometimes. And to be honest, it IS on the team, but also on him, he could have stood his ground more. - Norris... So disappointed, honestly, I have lost quite a bit of respect for the guy with his comment. And that to a friend as well, after a race you botched so hard yourself. One of the most unflattering moments from Norris ever. Not angry, just disappointed. - Leclerc really impressive that with how far that Ferrari was falling back middleway through, he kept Norris behind. Both Leclerc's performance, as well as Norris' mistakes. But great job Leclerc. And still the best person when it comes to dueling Max, he just knows how to deal with it, and I just LOVE watching those two race together, it's brilliant. - Alonso, champ for pulling through for the engineers, truly. - The rookies, they did their best, some more successful than others, but still deserve praise for sure, I feel like.
please do tell me where exactly russell made mistakes this race? imo this was a mistake-free race from him, probably the best after max. the pitstop cannot be blamed on him when higher ups come on the radio to tell him to box
@@hannah-wd9qn Hmm, I rate Occon's performance a tad higher then Russel though so for me Esteban was the best after Max. Russel could have pulled a Sainz and told the team "no!" and keep driving. Sure, if that turns out to be a mistake then he will get the blame, that is the risk of making his own calls and ignoring the team, but there is always the possibility to do this. He chose not to so it is kinda on him tbh.
@@hannah-wd9qn That statement about Russell was mostly just in general, not about this race. Apart from how I still think that if he had truly believed that they should stay out and the red flag like he said, he should put his foot down more. It's happened multiple times now where he says one thing and wants to make a decision, even times where he has, so I don't get why he sometimes just lets the team decide when he is so certain about something. I still consider that a mistake. It's the same criticism I often still have with Leclerc as well. I mean, let's be honest here, some drivers know when to just tell their team to go screw off, and make that decision for them. It was a great race from him, but he could just have stood his ground more on the decision in my opinion, that's all.
Leclerc's performance went under the radar, the Ferrari hates the cold and they've suffered in the wet for years. keeping his Top 5 streak goinf was a miracle on his part
@ yeah I first really noticed it back when he was with Latifi, Latifi would almost always set the better first lap only for George to destroy him on the final qualifying laps of each session.
They fakery of Matt being a Leclerc fanboy when he clearly demonstrates every video that in reality he is a Norris fanboy is the funniest thing ever and he can’t even hide it 😂 on average Tommy give Charles the higher grade than the so called “fanboy” 💀
Lando got a higher score than Oscar. But I guess overtook Oscar twice - once in the sprint and once in the main race..............team orders and you score him down because of it?
@@endthisnonsense7202 They wish, but Oscar's not going away. Maybe just British bias. Lando was beaten by his teamamte in the sprint quali and race and loses 5 positions in the main race to finish 6th. Yet these guys rate him higher - simply British bias.
Max was surreal but when you know George is pleading and still listens to reason from the team(who have way more data) that is not something we should look down upon. Also max had less to lose pitting from the lead is always the toughest decision!
@adarshvemali2966 Max had everything to lose, he could have lost 25 points in the championship if the SC didn't come out or came out too late and his inters blew up. World Champion material knows when to say "f▇▇k the data, I know what I'm doing"
Piastri had to pull over for Lando in both races. Whatever else is true, Piastri was the better of the two McLaren drivers this weekend. Lando made so many mistakes on Sunday. He was lucky Stroll showed that someone could drive worse.
Love or hate Max. This was insane drive. The sky team agree, Lewis and Alonso agree, loads of former F1 drivers agree... but some guys on X dont agree. For me it was in top 3 of the best drives I have seen. Been watching since 1991 and seen almost every single race. But we have different views and that is ok.
Wtf Tommy and Matt? Why does Lando get a score higher than Oscar when he was categorically worse? He had to be given the win on the sprint and then had to be given a position back AGAIN from Oscar in the race after going off track losing several positions after the restart. Mind you, he also started on pole which he bottled and worked his way down to P6. He even cut the corner and overtook several cars to get back behind Oscar, which he didn't get penalised for. He bungled each and every start/restart. Couldn't make an impression on Oscar in the sprint, couldn't make an impression on George and Charles in the race. Not to mention he basically failed the championship fight and lost it once and for all. Do we give points out only for qualifying now do we? And then to pretend Lando was massively faster than Oscar (did you even watch the same race???). Tommy, your British bias is showing...
Oscar was able to pit during the VSC, whereas Lando pitted at the very moment it ended, so Oscar benefited more there. Plus he received a 10-second penalty for punting Lawson that even he admitted that was entirely his fault
@@andrewhazlewood4569 I do agree Oscar let Max through on purpose. I think Lando deserves a higher score since he has to deal with his teammates while Max has the backup not only from Red Bull but the RB driver like Yuki and Liam also... It's much harder when Lando has to fight 1vs5 so he deserves more credit
How do you give Oscar a worse rating than Lando? Oscar P1 sprint quali, wins the sprint, then loses no places in the race. Against Norris being slower in the sprint and losing a ton of places in the race after starting on pole?
That IS very sad. Also IF news like this effects your driving skills you shouldn't be on the road, it can be just as bad as drunk driving. The same applies to a formula 1 track I guess.
Hamilton being poor in the wet is not an issue that started with the poor car, it's been happening consistently from 2021 Emilia-Romagna where he went off to ruin his race which only was partially salvaged by the Russell-Bottas red-flag.
Many Lewis fans argue against George's good drive by saying he's never outqualified Lewis in the wet in the time they were team mates. I find it a bit funny that he's done it twice in 2021 though, when he was still in a Williams, the famous Spa P2 lap of course, and then P3 in Russia
He also made that same mistake in 2022 trying to overtake Vettel at Singapore. He has some good wet drives but mostly when he’s just driving by himself.
Oscar let him past in both races yet soap dodger b thought of giving him a 4. Then of course Lando was given the sprint win & then went from pole & should have been 7th if not for Oscar being told to let him through again.
@@adamheddle430 yeah so why not let Oscar keep the position and tell him to build a gap? If Lando was going to inherit P6 anyway, why not try and keep Oscar's P7? At that point surely they realise Lando has lost the championship. But that's an aside. Giving Oscar a 4 and Lando a 5 or 6 is straight British madness.
If a driver is letting his teammate pass IN BOTH sprint and qualifying because his teammate doesn't have the pace and keeps on binning it, they're not getting equal points. Oscar and Lando on same points is crazy. Lando would've been 3rd and 7th if not for Oscar being Bottas.
Bottled it with lando as predicted.. he was not unfortunate with the timing he was begging to pit whilst verstappen knew a red flag was coming. Unfortunate for Russell
I read a magazine called auto sport and they also rank the drivers each race. Would you believe Max only got a 9 due to sprint penalty and not nailing it immediately in Q2!! The same magazine has on the front Max's greatest ever drive! So surely it must be a 10.
They need to do something with the 'Wet' tyres. It should not be good strategy to wait on used inters and just 'survive' for a red flag. The 'Wet' tyre needs to be good enough to race on, those drivers who take the risk to pit and take wets on should have the opportunity to use this gamble to make up positions over those trying to 'survive' the rain. It's just stupid that when the rain is like this, it turns into a 3 lap survival waiting game for an SC or red flag instead of the Wet tyre being a viable option. Not the drivers fault.
Rather than a rating of 3, he deserved a penalty or 3 for his drive. Unsafe rejoin, start infringement (which could have endangered drivers and marshalls) and overtaking off track. Definitely they didn't really rate him for his actual performance and what a horrorshow they put on.
@@paperplane-db8qf1) he did overtake off the track. He went off in the first part of the chicane, during his off was overtaken and then took those places back rejoining. So he took an advantage. That is a penalty for going off and taking an advantage. That's a consequence of a chicane consisting of two corners. 2) where in the rule book does it say that an aborted start infringment isn't a penalty? The rules don't actually say anything explicit about a penalty, which sometimes happens. In those cases, you have to judge: a) did the infringement gave any driver and advantage or disadvantage? The answer is yes, because it shortened the race by one lap. b) did it cause danger? The answer is: certainly. Stroll just went off during the formation lap, so someone else could easily have gone off again at the same point. It is truly baffling to me that everyone pretends that this is just a little mistake. The procedures are there for a reason.
@@paperplane-db8qf "And the start infringement wasn’t a penalty according to the rule books 😂" Well, glad you can laugh at that potential Bianchi moment of Lando, so funny indeed. Torrential rains, bad sight, slippery conditions, weaving like an idiot. Perfect situation to be in while people are on track. What did he get as punishment? A slap on the wrist and a fine which is nothing more then ice cream money to these guys. Never do I want to hear from 'fans' or officials or media about Max and him being dangerous when this was allowed to happen and discarded with no consequences at all. Hey, send more clown and laughter emoji's to show us how you feel about this!
Colapinto is getting higher points than Albon considering that Alex crashed in tricky conditions while Franco just died after SC and ruined the championship battle. Impressive
Lando a 6? He's that nice? Needs Piasri help to have DRS to defend himself and switch in the Sprint. Then starts when he shouldn't have, loses yet another pole, wants to pit earlier than Leclerc and was afraid of staying put, loses his position to Russell by going off track (or was that also Verstappen?) and then loses more positions in another restart, and gets another position for free he was never going to earn with Piastri, all for nothing as hes not even good enough to even get close to Leclerc. That was a disaster of a weekend. Yes. He would always be good at Qualys. Who cares at this point.
You guys should do a constructors ratings for the team (strategy, team orders...) either as one whole dedicated video or a segment after the drivers ratings. It'll be fun to watch that.
Over the last month or so your rating have just become silly. Oscar, Fernando and Oliver the same ratings? After Oscar got pole and the win in the sprint! Unsubscribed.
Oh noes... Anyways Please come back and tell us about the miracles and expertise of Lando this weekend. Seems we all missed the brilliance of what Lando did. I want to hear your version of the stellar performance of Lando. Nah, just kidding. He binned the race and has shown he is a) not anywhere near ready to be a title contender and b) shown his character while running his mouth where he should have shut up and move on (much like zack brown. anybody hear about zack? is he in hiding somewhere? is he ok? not that I care but just curious about that zack of shite). Oh, while I have your attention, please give us your opinion on the gravest and most dangerous of violations we have seen this year: starting illegally, driving in torrential rains with bad sight and a very real possibility of going uncontrolled of the track while there are stewards on track, a recovery vehicle and another driver. Oh, and he was weaving like the idiot he is, trying to heat in his tires. Perfect scenario for a crash in these conditions. Well done Lando! His team had to call him and shouted "RECOVERY VEHICLE!!!". Please enlighten us on what you think about this potential Bianchi moment of Lando, so so curious about that....
Am I the only one who thinks that it is weird to grade Albon lower than Colapinto, when both crashed in quali, but Albon made it to Q3 and looked quick whereas Colapinto was nowhere. And then Colapinto crashed in the race so Albon not being able to start was actually better probably.
Suggestion, you should also rank the team as a whole, factor strategy choices and pit stop performance etc into that, that works be interesting. You can account for strategy and pit stop blunders better that way.

Well, he finished well over a pit stop behind Max (who had lost a significant amount of time having to overtake more than half of the field) in a car that for the most recent part of the season is equally fast if not faster on some tracks.

Exactly. George apparently wanted to stay out but was told to pit. That’s the difference for Lando, as he seemingly wanted to pit anyway.

He was after the overcut and then a VSC came around...
hold on Matt, let me get this straight. Lando:
1. couldn't overtake Piastri in the sprint
2. loses the lead in turn 1, lap 1, yet again.
3. couldn't overtake Russell
4. asks to pit way before, while Russell was asking to stay out.
5. loses positions yet again on the Safety Car restart, and again has to be let go ahead of Piastri
6. loses the WDC.

Is there any sense to these lol.
Unlucky with the race quali? His race was also underwhelming.
Oscar did also punt off Lawson.
Lando didn't get "unfortunate" with the red flag, he chose to pit. George got unfortunate because he was pitted by his team despite clearly saying that the red flag is coming.
And imagine how worse it would have been if his team accepted lando to pit when he first asked.
British bis as
As a Norris fan, I really can’t give him more than a 4/10.

Bearman 5?? At least a 7
Sorry Matt and Tommy, but Lando getting a 6 while Piastri gets a 6 is crazy.

7 for Lawson?!? Double Q3 and half a second up on Tsunoda in the dry. Punted off in the wet, lost out due to red flag and then defended perez and hamilton for 25 laps. 8 or 9 for me.

Lando does not deserve a higher score than Oscar. Lando underperformed and when it counted, failed to keep himself in contention.
The only knock against Max's drive is that the red flag throws the idea that he would have still won without it into question.

I don't think Stroll lacked knowledge. Fernando's radio message makes me think it is possible Lance binned it on purpose to not race because feelings, and Alonso wanted to highlight to the crew that he respects them enough to drive even through pain.
Maybe it's "If you accept team orders you're a second tier driver"?
@@endthisnonsense7202 They wish, but Oscar's not going away. Maybe just British bias. Lando was beaten by his teamamte in the sprint quali and race and loses 5 positions in the main race to finish 6th. Yet these guys rate him higher - simply British bias.
At 1:30am? You guys are crazy
Sometimes uploading to youtube take hours... You rarely see clocks in podcasts for that reason.
@@randar1969 Then again, I'm awake at almost 3 in the morning with many plans for tomorrow... 😅😅
3.30 am here
It’s 830pm for me.
It was 8:30am for me when the video came out
Giving George an 8 is a crime
Max would have never boxed if he knew he could hold on until the SC, that's the difference between a world champion and just a good driver.
@@blasphemer_amonbrother his team listened to him so thats good on them. But if they would have asked him to box Max would have boxed
And that's why imo he is the most underrated driver in this season
Not a Max fan - but his drive was worthy of an 11
Lando should have 1 point less then Piastri. just because Piastri had to yield for Lando in the Sprint and in the Race.
Than
Two notes: Why there's DR instead of Liam Lawson in the list? Also please consider dividing the video into chapters - maybe by teams?
@35:41 (the list)
Piastri had to pull over for Lando in both races. Whatever else is true, Piastri was the better of the two McLaren drivers this weekend. Lando made so many mistakes on Sunday. He was lucky Stroll showed that someone could drive worse.
31:34 "Daniel Ricciardo" in the list of ratings is crazy.
Great to see how Stroll is an Unanimity!! 😅
Oscar was lucky to get a shorter pitstop during the VSC and he could not defend against Verstappen at all
@@BrandoN-ie1npcould not or chose not to?
@@andrewhazlewood4569 I do agree Oscar let Max through on purpose. I think Lando deserves a higher score since he has to deal with his teammates while Max has the backup not only from Red Bull but the RB driver like Yuki and Liam also... It's much harder when Lando has to fight 1vs5 so he deserves more credit
I think Oscar didn't even knew max was behind him. Imo it was the team that didn't communicate well
Matt said go push hard in the gym while i was on my last rep of squats and I have never received such motivation. THANK YOU MATT
how can you listen to a podcast in the gym? I need my music, else I couldn’t lift a thing lol
P1 --> P6 is just pure talent
Hello Riccardo is back!! At the update aty 13,00 you have Dan Ric instead of Lawson!! Nearly spat my cereal out lol!!
Was that a mistake, or is it a bit?
What a disgrace just a 10 for Max, for this drive it should have been dialed up to 11!
Yes there was history made in this race.
I thought for sure you had put a dramatic pause in after saying Zhou... But no. My internet cut out at the perfect moment 😂😂
How do you give Oscar a worse rating than Lando? Oscar P1 sprint quali, wins the sprint, then loses no places in the race. Against Norris being slower in the sprint and losing a ton of places in the race after starting on pole?
Oscar had to let him through TWICE.. because of how much he was bottling it..
Keep in mind Franco's grandfather passed away Thursday night very shocking and sad news from him at the very start of the weekend.
That IS very sad.
Also IF news like this effects your driving skills you shouldn't be on the road, it can be just as bad as drunk driving. The same applies to a formula 1 track I guess.
After struggling through the woes at the start of the season this is a good reward as an alpine fan
12:59 Wow, Daniel got a good rating in a race he wasn't a part of. 😂
Hamilton being poor in the wet is not an issue that started with the poor car, it's been happening consistently from 2021 Emilia-Romagna where he went off to ruin his race which only was partially salvaged by the Russell-Bottas red-flag.
yet he won britain THIS YEAR being fast in the wet…….
Lando would’ve finished P6 either way as Oscar had a 10 second penalty anyway
Remember, they left early 😂
Max should have gotten 11 points for the Brasil weekend!!
GASLEEEEEEE!!! Just love when he does well.
Best thing Piastri can do for his driving is change of passport.
how so? become british for the bias 😂? I heard how stingy crofty and brundle were about Max’s great drive? That’s sad. They need to do better.
Zhou: I started from the bottom and felt quite comfortable there.
Hearing Alonso over the radio being in so much pain maybe Stroll was onto something 💀
Tinfoil hat time
They need to do something with the 'Wet' tyres.
It’s about the spray not the tyres, the drivers can’t see anything in front once it gets wet enough for wet tyres.
Lando deserves a 3!
Rather than a rating of 3, he deserved a penalty or 3 for his drive. Unsafe rejoin, start infringement (which could have endangered drivers and marshalls) and overtaking off track. Definitely they didn't really rate him for his actual performance and what a horrorshow they put on.
@@PSelten94he didn’t rejoin unsafely.
He didn’t overtake off the track.
And the start infringement wasn’t a penalty according to the rule books 😂
@ no he didn’t. You don’t understand the rules.
All this nonsense when you’re just wrong. 🤡
@@paperplane-db8qf "And the start infringement wasn’t a penalty according to the rule books 😂"
Well, glad you can laugh at that potential Bianchi moment of Lando, so funny indeed. I mean, what is a sliced track marshal or 2 when compared to the humor of it all.
He should have been DSQ'ed for the rest of the season, it was *that* bad.
Impressive
they were difficult conditions anyway he was even asking for full wets too before he crashed 🤷🏻♂️
No no! Please come back
Oh noes... Anyways
Please come back and tell us about the miracles and expertise of Lando this weekend.
An epic drive from Max
Am I the only one who thinks that it is weird to grade Albon lower than Colapinto, when both crashed in quali, but Albon made it to Q3 and looked quick whereas Colapinto was nowhere. And then Colapinto crashed in the race so Albon not being able to start was actually better probably.
Suggestion, you should also rank the team as a whole, factor strategy choices and pit stop performance etc into that, that works be interesting. You can account for strategy and pit stop blunders better that way.
how liam lawson only got a 7 compared to yuki is crazy considering its his third race + had a far better sprint than him.
I dont like Max but wow, what a drive. Shows he deserves to win the WDC
Bearman rating is a joke. Yea he’s young, but he is inF1. The top tear. With the big boys. Don’t be out there if you aren’t able to keep up and be treated equal. You give him extra points when he has an easy time with Ferrari and now you give him extra points when he is bad. British bias at its finest. Bearman deserved a 1
Totally agree. I do not like VST, but even I was telling a friend that he was undeniably incredible this weekend.
Russell made lika 0 misstakes and destroyed Hamilton, how can he not get a 10 or 9. He clearly draged that car to places it didn’t belong
Well, he finished well over a pit stop behind Max (who had lost a significant amount of time having to overtake more than half of the field) in a car that for the most recent part of the season is equally fast if not faster on some tracks.
Nice to see Daniel Ricciardo is still getting a rating.
