Lol, ive watched a couple videos of Magnus and I never understand anything that's happening. He's really good apparently because everyone he plays always shakes his hand.
And also the video don't show a 2 D perspective of the match and the game pieces chess notation aside for easy understanding of the game. No narratives . 6:57 minutes of the game watching 2 chess masters and promoting a chess community site. I expected to be much better for teaching and learning of chess.
This is big. Two of the best ever, respectively. And I love that it's just raw footage without the influence of whoever would otherwise be adding commentary. Looking forward to playing this one back slowly and analyzing the game!

After Carlsen in white played Bb5, black's rook was trapped on b6. Carlsen would take it after Nc4. The black rook could only capture the bishop or be lost. Thus, Polgar would have to play down a knight and one pawn in the endgame. Plus her rook was on a useless square.
she was too down in material, i think she felt adventurous on testing what magnus could respond with, but all his plays were simple, just responding on the not so good moves from polgar
I'm pretty sure he had this tactic in mind when he played his pawn to b6. Otherwise he wouldnt push his pawn there. He knew in this moment that it is a good move, because black cant take it because of said tactic.
The pieces well kept together, and UP goes the front...so refined you cannot stop it by any kind of counterplay... that's what you can watch here even without any understanding of chess.This is theCarlsen system.

The other a troubled american that is a genius since they can remember, but also the greatest talent the chess world has ever seen. Also there is a Polgar vs Kasparov match that has a very series worth storyline, she was playing for revenge after losing to him in a game where he made an illegal move, she ended up winning too.
They should show the computers' evaluations of the positions as the game progresses. It would also be good to see the times on each player's clock, and a better view of what's happening on the board. Or another video with the above.
Judit has a fundamental handicap to playing chess, namely being a female. If she was a male, she’d be looked at as an average GM. You should understand/tolerate her special status though

If you watch Table 18 you notice, they take on average 2-4X longer to make a move than these two.

The GM title means less and less over time, since it is awarded to more and more people every year. In 1970 there were ~100 GMs; now there are 1950.

Great tactic by judit taking the rook, but magnus is a very strong blitz player as well and he is way up on the clock with a winning position.
