I heard this song being played in a car down the street like 5 years ago and I searched the lyrics i was able to make out. Found this song and still listen to it now 5 years later. Its amazing.
As a victim of abuse by an alcoholic father, this video triggers me into a terrible state of mind. But I can't stop playing it, because the music itself is just so great, and the second half really speaks to me, especially the end. Thank you, The Used

I'm pretty sure the video is extreme for shock value. The usage of brightly colored paint instead of blood leads to the conclusion of this not being reality, and rather the kid's tortured mind after he smashes the mirror. So it's put to such an extreme because A) it fits the energy, tempo, and sound of the song, and B) it really drives the point home in showing what bullying and abuse can do the someone's mental health. All in all, I really love the song and video. It makes you think; a rarity.

This really hit close to home for me. On my 16th birthday my father was almost killed in a school shooting where the kid (his student) was both emotionally and physically abused. The principal saved his life by tackling the kid and taking the bullet for him. Abuse happens and so can this if they get pushed too far.

That must've been extremely funny for random people walking around to see that. Some bullies beat up a kid, he goes inside for a few minutes, comes out basically naked, beats their asses, and goes back inside.

when you go through years of abuse at school and home like this kid did you don't turn to other people to help because that only makes things worse. you learn to not trust people and bottle everything up. that in and of itself is physically, mentally, and emotionally scarring. you take it for so long before you snap. he snapped... simple as that.

+Joshua Maletta The way that was phrased was hyper aggressive, in tone at least. We all have different thresholds for adverse stimulation but it is important that we build up our tolerance. The world or life does not care about your sensiblities or feelings. It will hit you and keep hitting you even when you are down. With that said it does not mean we should ignore bullying, it is just that it is a part of life and we should try to learn from it

This is the best/saddest/most inspiring/horrifying video I've ever seen. When you see the boy first get bullied you think, "Man I want him to kill those kids". And then he does! You see his dad hit him after he's already been beat up and you want him to kill him. And he does!!! Crazy.

See when I first heard this song my interpretation to the lyrics and song in general was a positive one. based on my own personal experiences when I hear “I come alive when I’m falling down” makes me feel optimistic when I feel like I’m hitting rock bottom... but after years of hearing this song and finally watching the video today I really wish I hadn’t u.u that is all.

Honestly, this video inspires me. Not to kill people, but to do something with my life. I'm a high school drop out, who does nothing but sit around and play guitar all day. It's time to do something with my life. The Used has always made me want to get up and do something, now more than ever. Thanks guys.

really people every one has a breaking point it just depends on how you act upon it. it's a music video seriously if it upsets you then don't watch it. it isn't glorifying it just an artistic video showing what a majority of us felt growing up. you can't say you never had that moment when the world felt like it was against you and you couldn't handle it anymore. all i'm saying is IT'S A VIDEO GET OVER IT.

Seriously why are so many people getting worked up about this video?? I love it and I've seen more violent videos when I was younger, trust me this does not affect you in that sense. Anyone can catch the point of the video: Sometimes it's right before it seems like you've lost you come out swinging or get a big rush of inspiration to go on. The video is not about going out and killing those who did you wrong, if you think it is then you shouldn't even listen to The Used to begin with lol.
Everyone is saying that this video is too violent, but I think it's totally called for. Someone had to make a video expressing why child abuse and bullying are wrong, and I respect The Used for being the ones to do it.
That's your opinion, for me this is a strong video which stands out. The violence isn't the pushing force of the video. Although I understand how people might get set off by it. Not everyone appreciates the same stuff. For me this video is pure vissual art. As a video alone, maybe not, but together with the song I personally think this video is a true master piece. It shows of emotion and sides of humanity which isn't often explored in videos because, as you said, people think it's too violent.

The truth is not always the best thing. This video is not trying to pass violence off as acceptable, rather its showing how horrible it can get when certain individuals reach the limit of shit they can take before they snap. If anything, its saying "dont fuckin mess with people cause you dont know what'll happen"

I think if anything this video shows the back story that most don't get, or hear about, as to why a child/person might go nuts and on a killing spree...does it justify it? NO. But it still gives insight into why someone, including a sane person, or even children might just lose it. I think it's a great song, video, and album.

The Used belong to a genre known as "Art Rock" now, I dunno if you noticed, but all their videos except "Put Me Out" are very artistic. So consider that maybe? I dunno why it matters to be honest, these guys are genius and I think they can do what they want in their videos. :D
