I’m so glad you said “Anything by Miles Davis”, there are so many tracks and albums, I wouldn’t pick “Bitches Brew” though it was groundbreaking it’s not something you can enjoy every day, like the also eternal “Kind Of Blue”. But I really miss Chet Baker from this list. So many fine records, that trumpet feel and also his very special voice. There are many more, but he came to mind instantly.
One of my favorite solos would have to be after you’ve gone the trumpet solo by one of the amazing trumpet players Roy Eldridge from the 1946 concert which features some of the best jazz musicians ever including Willie Smith and Charlie Parker on alto saxophone Lester Young on tenor sax Lih Young on the drums among others what a fantastic recording. I also love the song Java by herb Alpert herb Albert was one of the greatest musicians ever. and I also think my last day this is great too especially on cell what especially from the live at the plug nickel concert and also imagination and walking.
I would have added Clifford Brown's Joyspring and Cherokee Lee Morgan on Blue Train and Candy Wynton Marsalis , I guess I'll hang my tears out to dry, and Embraceable you Chet Baker's Autumn leaves, Look for the silver lining, Freddie Hubbard's Suite Sioux, and Intrepid fox Roy Hargrove- almost everything Dizzy Gillespie- everything but particularly Things to come, Night in Tunisia Nicholas Payton Weather bird and Dinah Clark Terry Haig and Haig, Tete A Tete and Serenade to a bus seat Randy Brecker -( Rocks.... the whole song theme and solo)
Credit where credit's due, a quality music list. I probably would've included something from Chet Baker (before he got all his teeth knocked out lol), but very solid otherwise.
If you ever do a trombone solo list I'd definitely expect William Bilal in Phi Funk Slide (best version is during a college football game) to be on it.
Kudos for all the jazz artists you listed. This should have been a top 20 list because you forgot classics by Herp Albert, Henry Mancini, Stevie Wonder, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and Celia Cruz
So WatchMojo DOES know Chicago exists. "Beginnings" is a fantastic song but "Street Player" from Chicago 13 would have been a much better pick. The trumpet was played by Maynard Ferguson on that song.
I came here knowing that WatchMojo would disappoint me..... Where is Capital Cities??? Some of their trumpet solos are better than some of these on this list.....
This list is simply silly. I can't imagine what WatchMojo was thinking when they made it. A trumpet solo from Blood, Sweat & Tears or Chicago and none from Freddie Hubbard, Clifford Brown, Roy Eldridge, Clark Terry, Fats Navarro or Chet Baker and a host of others, let alone the man many regard as the greatest trumpet player of all time, Maurice Andre. Back when Andre would appear at Carnegie Hall, the front row center section would be filled with New York's jazz trumpeters. They came to see the man. Of course, he played baroque music, but still. This is a pop list, and not serious. And does any real trumpet fan think Miles Davis was better than Armstrong? Even Davis occasionally admitted that Pops was the king. But leaving aside that debate, most of this list was inconsequential mediocrities who had one well-known pop riff. And the list doesn't mention Armstrong's unbelievable solos on West End Blues or Potato Head Blues from the Hot 5 and 7 days, or his blistering solo on St. Louis Blues from Louis Armstrong plays W.C. Handy. And there's Freddie Hubbard's solo on Stolen Moments, or Lee Morgan's solo on Blue Train or too many others to count that are better than the crap that makes up the bulk of this list. I have to assume the people who put together this list haven't listened to much trumpet playing.

Any of Timmy Trumpet's live sets lol
Oh my God.
I know it’s ridiculous to say this, but the trumpet, tuba and trombone are underrated instruments
Especially the Trombone

My inner aging band geek was pleased to see this list. I still get goosebumps listening to Maynard Ferguson’s soaring trumpet solo in Gonna Fly Now.

100%
From a devoted bebop and avant garde jazz fan - thank guys 😊
I enjoyed this category. Rise by Herb Albert and Miles version of Round About Midnight are classics.
I'm a trumpeter and I approve this list lol Especially for Lee Morgan/Sidewinder!
Check out Lee Morgan Mr. Kenyatta here on YT - not the remastered version but the original, which sounds better. It's a scorcher!
Grazing In The Grass is my favorite!!
Thank For the Top 10 Video 🙊🤯🥰😍😁💗💐🌟🥇🏆
Best one that comes to mind,Jerry Rafferty,Baker Street.
Um...That was a saxophone.

Awesome video 👏
I've been loving these instrument top10's
Love these videos guys😊😊😊😊
Another great one is Tank,by The Seatbelts.
Bill Chase; "Invitation To A River". Not "horn rock" but "trumpet rock" - 14+ minutes of it.
Search Así Fue by Juan Gabriel Live and listen the Trumpet Solos… top
I would have added Clifford Brown's Joyspring and Cherokee
Lee Morgan on Blue Train and Candy
Wynton Marsalis , I guess I'll hang my tears out to dry, and Embraceable you
Chet Baker's Autumn leaves, Look for the silver lining,
Freddie Hubbard's Suite Sioux, and Intrepid fox
Roy Hargrove- almost everything
Dizzy Gillespie- everything but particularly Things to come, Night in Tunisia
Nicholas Payton Weather bird and Dinah
Clark Terry Haig and Haig, Tete A Tete and Serenade to a bus seat
Randy Brecker -( Rocks.... the whole song theme and solo)
Hear me out as a trumpet player I’ve loved seven nation army’s one and wine beer whiskey from little big town
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! I thought "When you're smiling" was Frank Sinatra's song until today. 😁
That thumbnail is wild 😂
Credit where credit's due, a quality music list. I probably would've included something from Chet Baker (before he got all his teeth knocked out lol), but very solid otherwise.
@12:36 "Top 10 Miles Davis Songs" in the future? Honorable mention for Dizzy Gillespie on Stevie Wonder's "Do I Do"
forgot to mention trumpet players like allen vizzutti, chet baker, eric miyashiro, rafael mendez, doc severinsen, and cat anderson
If you ever do a trombone solo list I'd definitely expect William Bilal in Phi Funk Slide (best version is during a college football game) to be on it.
Don't forget Chet Baker if you do more!
I always wanted to play the trumpet
Never too late to learn :)
I will never forgive my school band director for making me switch from trumpet to trombone (because nobody else could play it). Curses!!! lol
Solo in the Asi Fue from Isabel pantoja is the best solo i ever heard
All the songs here makes me wanna smoke a cigarette and pretend that i'm Spike Spiegel.
Great list, but they forgot "senorita cover" by some youtuber
I am surprised Herb Alpert was not on this list. My three favorite of his is "El Solo Toro," "Rise," and his cover of "Zorba the Greek."
Don Ellis?
Hello Mr. John 😊
How about Billy Butterfield's solo on "Stardust" with Artie Shaw's band?
Kudos for all the jazz artists you listed. This should have been a top 20 list because you forgot classics by Herp Albert, Henry Mancini, Stevie Wonder, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and Celia Cruz
If Miles Davis wasn't number 1, there would have been a riot.
Hahahaha!!!
wait a got dam minute.. no Clifford Brown?! I can't take this list serious... a rare miss.
Chuck Mangione The Hill Where the Lord Hides ...❤
I pulled this up to hear trumpet music not a narration of trumpet music.
Please do 🎷saxophones solos as well 😊
They did two saxophone related lists already
@@rosario508 ty I missed those 😊
How can you miss Rafael Mendez?!!
First.
So what if you are. It's sad that you even care about something so pointless
LESS talking, more playing🙄
Just completely dissed Herb Alpert and Al Hirt!!! 🤬🤬🤬
Oh no...sad that Herb Alpert's Rise is not on this list. Most underrated trumpet solo song ever!
So WatchMojo DOES know Chicago exists. "Beginnings" is a fantastic song but "Street Player" from Chicago 13 would have been a much better pick. The trumpet was played by Maynard Ferguson on that song.
The thumbnail looks like my darksouls character
Too much talking, too much verbal describing rather than letting the horn do the talking. There was more talking than trumpet playing on this video.
You left out Chuck Mangione while he did Feels So Good.
Seemed like a rather random list.
I missed Herb Alpert
I came here knowing that WatchMojo would disappoint me..... Where is Capital Cities??? Some of their trumpet solos are better than some of these on this list.....
No love for Maynard Ferguson 😢
No Oingo Boingo? 😮 :(
Can never hear e ough Doc Severnson.
Sad… no FANIA ALL STARS y’all need todo your research
a list of trumpet solos without willie colon is disgraceful
@@VMan29397 yup Willie was the man on the trombone💪🏼🇵🇷

nope.
I thought this vid was about trumpet playing. Turns out that it is about some silly woman talking a lot!
