Thanks for this mate! Just tested one waist-side of my hd28 binding. This glue cleans up easily and holds strong so far. after using a hair dryer to help the shrunken binding expand and seat into the channel, then gluing and leaving to set for 24hours, there is very little seepage to scrape off and polish. Heres hoping the other sides will come together and stay. This feels way safer on the finish than using superglue or duco cement as others suggest on this repair. I hope that helps others doing this fix themselves. Cheers
Great Job! Many times guitar techs just reglue the biding without taking care of the gaps due to shrinking or no retouching or sealing the chipping of the finish or lacquer that occurs always in these cases
The first time I've seen TB 3 used to glue binding. CA glue is used a lot for that, but man it can do some damage to the finish real quick. Thanks for sharing!
Great work- before the binding work, did the guitar sound muffled at all? I have a guitar with a similar problem, but the back was separated and there was also broken kerfing and even missing pieces of kerfing- I glued the back back down to the sides, but there are still a few little gaps where the kerfing broke off. The guitar doesn't sound as loud as other Martins I've played- it's an HD-28. It's also missing all of the back binding- do you think adding binding would improve the volume? Did you add any bits of wood to the kerfing before you glued the top back down, or did the pieces go back together without any gaps? Thanks.

This was published a few years ago and I honestly don’t remember.
Love me a good Martin D-28. Great video. What is your opinion of Larrivee guitars?
Thanks! I’ve only seen on Larivee so far. No strong opinions yet I guess
Beautiful work. What type of glue are you using?
Titebond III is my my go to for binding 🙏
Where’d you get that handheld suction cup?
Staples. It’s a cell phone accessory
Nice work. Don’t you think it will be back for other parts of the binding in the future?
I hope not. 😄
What’s a Harpeth?
