I use a jig saw with a bi-metap blade for cutting the track. I use a dual 1/4" track for the top and bottom. Keeps the glass from rubbing and scratching. I use 1/2" on the sides if I use it.
I have done both 1/4" pieces in a 1:2" rail before but I switched and started using a divided rail. I got it from woodworkerexpress.(com). Part number 4041. They also sell it in a longer length. It is the upper rail, so has no rollers or anything. I used it too and bottom.
Cabinets can display anything. Nobody but nobody addresses the issue of shop dust covering the French cleat items. Cabinets with sliding doors will solve the problem. No back to cabinet. Hang French cleat items in cabinet frame. Use lexan panel for visibility. Your thoughts. Better yet build one and make the video!!!! Thx Bruce. Cleats and Cabinets ( sort of like root beer and ice !)
Just did this myself using a jigsaw with a plexiglass blade and it worked perfectly.
You're the man!
That’s awesome, thanx for posting!
😎👍🏻♥️
How do you measure the size of the acrylic
Hey man, really appreciate this video. Do the doors ever stick to each other while sliding, considering there's no track seperating them?
What do you use to cut the metal edging, and do you use 1/2 " for the side channels and 1/4 " for top and bottom?

Both glass in one aluminum rail sir?

"easy way to do it with no special tools" breaks out table clamp and circular saw 😂
Those really aren't considered special tools to most people. 🤷
