Decades ago, I cried when I first heard this song, as my husband and I had been trying for years to have a child, and I ached inside thinking of yet another childless Christmas. Well, my adopted little girl watched this show with me long ago ( she is 19 now), and SHE cried when she heard the music, as it made her sad! But I was so happy to have her. She was our miracle.
Nothing is better than old hand drawn cartoons. The raspyness of old analog audio on a old home recorded vhs tape. This was my childhood makes me want to cry.
Hanna-Barbarra did a lot of recycling of songs among their Christmas specials such as this, Casper's First Christmas and Yogi's First Christmas. I do like this version more than the version BooBoo Bear sings in Yogi's First Christmas though as it's slower and the montage with Pebbles, Fred, Wilma and Dino is very sweet.
So far, this song has been played in A Christmas Story (1972), A Flintstone Christmas, Yogi's First Christmas, and Yogi Bear's All-Star Comedy Christmas Caper. Got to say I like it a lot. In fact, I love it.
Like in her elementary school years, then the middle school years with the cheerleadering segment from The Flinstones comedy show. And high school pebbles in the Pebbles & Bamm Show.

📺 I so do miss all these Christmas holiday specials like this back throughout from the 1980s, we were spoiled then and we were spoiled throughout the 1990s as well. We had it all back in those days, from a young kid all the way an adult. The greatest shows, the greatest cartoons, the greatest movies and action figures, fantastic music and fashion, toys and board games and so on. Oh I can't forget about the jewelry either and there's so much more we had back then too. Now today everything's like Frozen in Time or something. Today we don't have the stuff we had back then as a young kid. I am grateful and thankful for everything we had from the 1980s up to 1999. All the programs are reruns and junk in the cartoons are no good and the action figures aren't good as they use to be back from the 80s either.
This Music made me Cry My Eyes out sometimes everytime I hear that Christmas song in both 1971 A Christmas Story and 1977 A Flintstones Christmas because this song sounds beautiful in my opinion.

I always liked this Christmas special. All I can say is that I am happy about the era I grew up in. I had a lot of good Christmases with my family and grandparents. This one always makes me think of those times with my brother and sister and my parents together like it was for Christmas.
I remember hearing this song about the same time Sandy Hook happened and it really hit home how sad it was because I thought about all of those children that wouldn't see Christmas or their parents that wouldnt see their kids Dave's when they see what "Santa" had brought them
A man I admired greatly once said that "Where there's life, there's hope". He died believing that... and that's how I hope to die someday as well. Hope isn't a place, it's Mankind's greatest gift. So, if Houston really has no hope in it's streets... well, I guess it's up to you and everybody else who lives there to find the hopes and dreams inside yourselves, and transform those hopes into the strength to rise above the ashes and the ruins.
