In 1995 cross the Simpson and from Birdsville to poeples corner between every dune there was up to 3feet of water epic run 5 vehicles never forget it have a good movie of crossing
When we got to Birdsville from Windorah we were first vehicles to beetoota for 9days and on arrival in Birdsville fourbies were unrecognisable and we washed them not realising what would happen in crossing French line filthy again many stories from crossing never forget
If you jump onto Facebook and look up the Birdsville hotel they share the updates from the Police out there. The Police are going to update the situation over the first or second week of July and that will determine if the desert will open. We are jealous, would love to be out there again. Already planning when we will be heading back 😁
Wow that’s crazy. The last update we read was they now thought could be lay August before it recedes. Glad you got to see it too, such an incredible experience.
It was so great to see a desert in flood. I can’t even say I was disappointed we didn’t get to Poeppels because I know I will never see water like this in the desert again.

Interesting have not heard that before. We don’t get there often enough so doubt we will ever be lucky enough to see this again. We did watch a video this week of all the wild flowers in the Simpson at the moment it’s epic.
@@filthyoffroadadventures Go to Coongie Lakes it is a wonderful spot - its in the desert out of Innamincka... I did the Birdsville track, Birdsville through to SA and then went back up the Innamincka track and once at innamincka in Dec I asked was there any water about as the Cooper was very low... I like to Kayak they said go to Coongie Lakes - it was absolutely isolated and beautiful - the birds - the wildlife an absolute Oasis ... the official campsite has only a toilet so it is remote as can be.
oh wow that sounds incredible. We are planning another trip out that way so I will put that on our board right now. We love remote, less people the better 🤣
What an amazing experience to see a creek in the desert in a big flood
Was incredible, almost like a lake it was so wide in parts.
The red of the sand dunes is simply stunning
I love the shot of Leisa walking on the dune one of my favourite memories.
awesome video 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Thanks so much glad you enjoyed it. Heaps more still to come.
Was there a month ago, Awesome trip. Water everywhere and a green desert.
Such an incredible site. Glad you got to see it too. I just wish I could’ve seen water in Lake Eyre.

Wow what a trip. Did you have the footage up on RUclips? Would love to see it.
That is amazing footage of Big Red at sunset. So beautiful
Yes it was such a stunning experience. The colours was incredible.
The Simpson looks amazing. You were so lucky to see it in flood.
Originally we were disappointed not able to do our original trip but wow we now see it as a blessing.
So beautiful... Brings back awesome memories of our trips to NT and SA 1996/98 in our T/D Holden Jackaroo.
Yep definitely very similar feel out there. You will be out there again soon I am sure.
I hope to be there in mid October
I wonder if I will be able to go to poeppel as it’s July now
Hope flood goes down

Truly a once in a lifetime event for us.
Also how long is the drive from big red to eyre creek
We took it very easy and even with some stopping it was about 1hr drive time.

Hahahaha. You guys are typical Queenslanders. Too cold at mid 20’s to swim. 😂. You know that’s not really cold right?
😂😂
Aboriginal music would be more fitting.... great footage but disliked the music.
Thanks very much for the feedback really appreciate it . We are still very new to this and music is very challenging to find the right track.
