They say Caste is not in cities but then they join their Caste WhatsApp groups, marry in their own castes and then put caste stickers on their vehicles...
You are ignoring the fact that while yes caste might still exist in some ways in urban areas but it is greatly reduced compared to rural areas where every facet of the society is dictated by caste. Economic upliftment greatly helps in reducing the ill effects of caste discrimination.

Buddha fought against castism 2500 years ago still India the land of Buddha is suffering from Castism. Such a shame.
Not budhha only but many hindus fought against casteism like swami dayanand saraswati ,swami shraddhanand,vd savarkar also held quite a few small scale movement in Maharashtra against caste discrimination

@ Vimoh . Please cover caste and the notion of merit. There is still a good number of people who have this idea that merit is an equaliser and unimpeachable truth. This plays out very notoriously in the Indian education system and without understanding that merit is a scam, it will be difficult to fight it.

Well said Samarth, it seems you have researched well on ground realities of casteism.
Getting a house for rent is always dreadful and has been increasingly getting tough as years progress.
I so so soooo love this rant. I wish if every central government employee could see the surroundings the way Samarth saw it and realized it. I am saying this because one of my closest relative works in a prominent ministry and I keep on hearing the same things - how caste based reservations are destroying the 'opportunities' of general caste, how upper castes are deprived of, discriminated of government jobs because of these 'quotas'.
Oh yes, me and my relative, both belong to the Hindu uppermost caste 🙃 I know what is selective blindness about the casteism in urban areas, places like New Delhi.

Living experiences mujhe bachpan mein mil gaya tha, Mujhe chhute nahi the Brahman, Goud aur maali ke ladke/ladkiya. kyuki mein Dum/harizan logo ke saath ghumta tha.
Mein Brahman tha likin mere dost sabse bottom mein the caste system ke. Mujhe school teachers ne dost banane ke bajah se maara tha.
Ye sab at least mere school me nahi tha, and I am not from tier 1 city, and I am a Brahmin

Casteism is prevalent even in the top educational institutes of the country - just like he mentioned hostels.
Mai pehle apne papa ki baat ko ignore kr diya karta tha lekin dheere dheere life ke experience ko sense kiya aur realize hua ki jaat paat to agal bagal mere dosto tak me hai, mai bs ignore kr deta tha kyuki mai jaat paat nahi manta isliye.

Mai 37 khud sc(jatav) comunity se, ye jaante hue ki jativaadi soch hai samaj me, par phir bhi aaj bahot badlav aa chuka hai, Bachpan se sabhi caste ke dost rahe,aana jana bhi rah,agar aap mazboot hain toh goan-shahar kahi bhi aap ko poocha jayega..

@@nilabhbhosale6709 i have seen casteism in mumbai. But not so severe.
Castesim has been made as pain because of all wrong reasons... hierarchies will be based on karam not by birth soon ..because truth can't be suppressed..
but some works are frowned upon. You can still see this attitude in people for blue collared workers. In west there is dignity of labor but not in India. Also in bhagwat geeta alot of castiest statements are made so check that out.

Caste ban karo, reservation kud ban ho jayega. People who fight against reservation don't fight against casteism. Caste is your only identity in life. Nothing else.
