- Vlog_028 I tried cooking a Michelin star meal in the back of my van....it came out better than expected but I don't think any Michelin star restaurants will be serving it anytime soon hahahah

Food looked really good I would of eaten all of it, lol and the blended tomatoes 🍅 😋. The way I have seen Consomme made you cut up onions, garlic, tomatoes and cook in a pot with olive oil, water. The soup is clear with translucent vegetables after they are cooked, and you can make it with lentils, salt to taste. Serve in a wide low brim bowl. Add a pinch of lemon juice and eat, as a soup. 🍲 maybe make home pressed corn tortilla and roll them up eat with the soup. Its really 👌
Usually, Consommé is made with other seafood for the broth, such as prawns and mussels along with a bunch of other ingredients that are cooked and then strained, removing the chunky bits. The liquid is then placed in a refrigerator to cool. The fat will rise to the surface which is skimmed off and then on a low heat you place egg whites in it and gently stir constantly for about 30 minutes, the whites act as a further clarifier, bringing the flotsam (remaining food particles) to the top which you can then skim off. After all this effort you basically have finished your consommé and can add all sorts of things to it. The key is to maintain the clarity, so you need to ladle it gently into a bowl, then add whatever you're putting with it and a proper consommé can be eaten. But honestly, who cares about all that, at least you're trying to cook some different things than all the fast food and instant meals.

We just completed our 'Rock-to-Rock'tour, Vancouver Island to Newfoundland and back, 85 days, only 8 campsites. We ate while on the road literally! We ate well!
We did biscuits on the BBQ in the ferry parking lot. Our second batch was the road between the airport and the ocean watching the planes come in over the rolling waves. We bought fresh scallops in Digby NS, cooked them up on the beach at Sandy Cove, panfried with garlic.
Bought fresh cold water shrimp in Labrador cooked up on the beach. Cooked up our fresh cod cheeks on the beach in Eastport.
Given that I'm going full time a class b soon I really enjoy your videos. Nice job.

Scallops are my favorite even though the first time I tried them as a 10-year-old I thought they were gross. I would have placed more cubed tomatoes on the plate and made them more random. Looks super though.

the only things keep you away from full comfortable live are 3 things actually 1- toilet 2- a proper shower and an AC unit

Well, there's a myriad of reasons. Some people choose to only use it for peeing, for obvious reasons and for everything else, they use public restrooms. Or, some just choose to only use it for absolute emergencies i.e. when there are no public options available in those moments. Personally, if I were living in a van full-time, I'd absolutely have to have some kind of composting toilet onboard and would use it all times, seeing as you can't always predict and/or plan out when your bathroom trips will occur.
I couldn't imagine ever getting used to being stealthily parked somewhere late at night and then all of a sudden, having to go and having to get out of bed, go out in the cold to find a bush or even worse, having to get up and drive out somewhere and find a gas station. But hey, to each their own, right?
