Just awesome, amazing, unbelievable - the subject, the explanation, the delivery, and of course, Rev. Swamiji! The best thing about the majority of the Swamis of Ramkrishna Mission is that they literally take one of our ancient scriptures and go from there, so it is not adhoc or very subjective! Indians more than anyone understand what the Israelis are going through because in 1948 they also suffered so much from Islamic bloodshed when both peoples work freed from the English yet they made a land transfer and put all the Muslims from large places into Pakistan while the Jews tried to be more moral and left hundreds of thousands of Muslims to become Israeli citizens and have tried continually to make peace with their Muslim neighbours and I would say from looking at the recent history of the last 50 years of the world can agree making peace with the Muslims is not an easy task

I think the people in South Africa could have given the Swami a break. We all speak English a little bit differently - even from one end of England to the other, never mind the rest of the UK and our cousins in the far ends of the globe. And he was strictly correct in his usage. Expire means to breathe out, or out breath. Medication doesn't breathe. People do - and stop. So, the Swami's friend had expired. God rest him. Many thanks Swamiji. I always remember the stories best.

Thank you. This is the clearest exposition of this truth yet. It would be helpful to have a talk on how this translates into practical steps (beyond knowing it) for the ordinary householder whose circumstances present a less pleasant dream to Brahman. Does yog have any value for them? If the knowledge itself is the medium of the yog then what step is needed to implement it (equivalent to the dreamer detachedly defending themself against the tiger in their dream even though the tiger is not something apart from them and even though it doesn’t ultimately matter)?

What do the Upanishads have to offer to the people of Gaza, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria, Armenia, also Morocco, Libya....it is such a long list.
Can these people, as they are placed today, find succour from the Advaita Vedanta?

This is actually correct; we are the limitless. So why does there appear to be a manifold of limited persons be it man or woman? What is interesting is that the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad as well as Genesis (2:18) discuss the concept of cosmic loneliness as a potential catalyst for the origins of existence (man and woman, life).
