YG has been known for their live performances. This is YG. No one should be lipsync. That is their rule. Pharita is that singer who makes you doubt if she's lipsyncing just because her facial expression doesn't show anything even when she's belting. I doubted it before not until I rewatched her introduction video. That's when she sang while her vocal coach played the piano or looked at her laptop listening to Pharita. I was surprised because she was belting there but her face remained calm neither her shoulders nor her body moved like she needed to grasp some air to breathe deeper for that song. Pharita has mastered this technique!! You might want to rewatch that part.
For Chiquita, you'd know she's singing live because you can feel the rawness of her voice.
For the other girls, they have soft voices and it seems that it's part of their training not to move a lot? Most YG girls even the sunbaes are like this too. They just want to show emotions through their faces and you can feel there is soul when they sing ballad songs.
Wow, their mics cost US$12,000 each! Their tube microphones, Telefunken ELA M 251E, cost almost the same as a car each. That is why their live vocals are almost the same as the studio version. YG did spend a lot for this live stage performance.

What the?? Pharita’s highnote is totally different. The first time I listened to the live stage one, I immediately noticed that it’s a bit shorter than the studio version. If you didn’t hear that then something is probably wrong with your ears. Even the comparison in the end sounds different.
The microphones are hot. Which means they are on. What they do is lower the back up tape but leave the music and everything else on. The only way you can hear just the voice is if they sing it acapella and YG will never do that! These girls have been singing this song so much that it’s going to sound exactly like M/V every time! Even in concerts the back track will always be playing!
Omg so you haven't seen Pharita face when she practiced "Believer" highnote. She didn't do that ugly faces & she just sat without expression. They all practice this for 6 years thats why they are so ready 😂

They're so talented, you can't tell if they are singing live.
It's live. Pharita's big note, the first part at least, was shorter than the MV and Special Stage. Don't be deceived by how effortless she makes it sound. The harmonies are on the backing track but the ad-libs are live. Why are you fixated on this. Why can't you just enjoy this beautiful song.
Because we’ve seen them do harmonies live before. We know what they’re capable of and to call this a ‘love’ stage is a joke. And only the ending adlibs are live. You can see the ones in the first half of the song aren’t even being lip synced

Because the title "LIVE STAGE" mislead the fans. We already love their vocals and we just want to get impressed with their live singing.
It's obvious why this is not live, (consistent volume all throughout, no pauses and breathing, no distance adjustment from the mic, less to no struggle during high notes or runs, body language is way off)

If you really want to check then you need to take the audio tracks and place them over each other. The one thing that I remember when working with audio is that our memories for it is deceiving. We think that we hear it one way when it really isn't the case.
Studio recording they usually try to reduce the inhales. So in the live I would say that if you hear a inhale and it matches the mouth and the body then it is most likely to be live.The M/V and the Special Stage with Rami's flip after the key change is different where you can see her put emphasis on the low note in the Special Stage which is the reason that it stood out more in it. Also, the mix of the voices were better in the Special Stage.
But yeah, sound is a difficult one since there is a lot of variables that can change the sound in our ears.

Nah yg never lipsync...even when their idols are sick they would not lipsync..they put pride on singing real live cause they value the support they get from their fans...watch pharita inroduction again and you will see how effortlessly she sang that high note when she was with their vocal couch inside their practice room. And watch their behind the scene,they practice while fixing their make up and they sound exactly the same just raw.. Whenever i watch kpop sing i do not only focus on their voices but also on their mouth and their faces. Thats how i can tell if its live or not. I can easily tell if someone is faking everything. And this is live. Their facial movements,their mouth, the way they delivered theie notes...its live

The problem is the post-production. They were probably singing live, but the audio is too perfect. You can hear some notes should have been out of tune, but they weren't. Also, they probably spent a day recording this several times and used the best "video" moments (which could have been lipsync) with the best "audio" moments, so the audio doesn't match the video completely. And since it has been edited later, especially volume and tunning, you get these "LIVE" videos that aren't really LIVE.

I Love the BabyMonster "THE PRINCESSES"❤👸. The Funny fact about BabyMonster since they are vocally talented and trained they are the group along the way of their career that many people will accuse them always that they lip singing when they sing their song in live performance😅.Because of their well sounded vocals.But I also pray that they do not do lip singing in the future and hopefully YG let BabyMonster be vulnerable for them to be strong and for them to learn how to face criticism of the public specially in this industry.

I hope you realise by now when Baby Monster sings live. It is live. Go watch It's live channel. They just performed Sheesh with a live band on a independent channel to show haters or deaf people there is no trickery in Baby Monsters singing. You can hear CD quality live vocals.

It guess the reason why it seems debatable is because they followed the rehearsed melody instead of experimenting with the notes, possibly bc they are too young still. They are singing live, but there’s potential audio edits.

I think i get what these guys are talking about. They know baemon can sing, they know they're singing live, but they just want to hear them differently (from the actual song).
For them (as they are used to jyp idols) singing exactly as good as recording is not the big deal. They needed MORE, to push their vocal more than recording, like to give more spices to it while singing live. So it doesn't sound exactly the same.
You know, like when some divas do parts of their song a bit extra and it sounded better? Like that.
But again, with spices or no spices during live, baemon is still a genuine gem. Unbeatable vocal lines.

I said the same on other vids about the “special stage” it just sounds like an edited version of the song. And when you look at them it doesn’t look like they are really singing. Love babymonster and love this song. But I think maybe they sing little bits here or there “live” the rest is just the original song with a few tweaks.

RORA part before ASA coming, she was singing softer than audio/MV, and the backing harmony was a pre-recorded backing track. You can compare it with the first stage as well. But I have no idea about whose voice belong to the pre-recorded harmonies. I guess it was RORA and CHIQUITA together. PHARITA is one of the most stable singer of this group, apart from RAMI, and she can belt powerful high note without face change. Most of adlips with riffs and runs were sung by RAMI, and she is one of the best in voice control, apart from AHYEON and RORA. The comparison from spotify and YT version, Pharita's high note ending in live stage was differently tipping up a little, and a bit longer.

I personally noticed some imperfections in this show and believe YG won't do suicidal action by allow Babymonster perform a lying live performance, too. 😉

@@WatchingSundays Rethinking for a night and one idea came to me. It could possibly be the post production issue of their live stage. Comparing 'Batter Up' live school version and stadium version which need back up audio because of heavy dance performing. The school version has louder backing audio than stadium version and some people complained it was a fake live. Maybe in this SITM live stage has inserted backing audio louder over live singing voice in some parts, too. The SITM special stage used mobilized mics which let us easily catched the live vocals and inhale breaths, but this live stage the standing mics were kind of better sound recording for post production.
They can definitely sing, but this sounds like it was post-processed after they sung it live. I think most Korean companies that post live clips do it.

She really had a calm expression on her face from the first tape. She worked very hard and the result is that she has a very solid voice. There's a behind-the-scenes video from the MV shoot where everyone dresses up and practices singing without music. .The funny thing is that it sounds exactly like it did in the studio.

Its live, but its processed obviously. Pharita belting its in her comfortable range, thats why she is not making crazy faces, when the singer is making crazy faces and the veins are exploding on the neck, they are just forcing something without the proper technique. Pharita's belts here are not that high and is going down on notes plus seems high because its stylezed. The majority of harmonies are backing track, only Rami adlibs are live in that sense.

I don't need perfect pitch. I have the waveform and spectro of both spotify and live stage video and they are an identical match throughout the entire song. If they in fact did sing this live, then they most likely used this live stage for the studio release. Either way, we KNOW they are great singers and aren't bashing babymonster. We just want to see them sing; with zero tech behind them. Pure, raw beautiful voices. And if you can't get behind that, and just want to praise YG all the time, I dunno what to say.

I wonder how crazy a company use €72.000 microphone only for lipsync. Even only use €10 earphones, i can clearly hear their Breath sound, Hiss sound, Plosive sound. What if MV version is studio recorded using pop filter with minimum editing? Then being consistent is it worst?

Coming from the Philippines that even dog can sing this is the problem if you got a very good singers and a very high production is that you can tell if it's live or not. Just like miss regine Velasquez one of the legend singer in PH. said before she can sing exactly like the studio version and you would know if it live or not cuz she can deliver that exact version of a song. 🤭 People watching kpop or in western part of the world is so use to seeing lipsync that they don't know what is a very high production and not. Guys, I loved your earlier reactions on Babymonster, but not this one. During your early reactions when you don't know much about BM, I really enjoy to see your genuine enthusiasm and reactions. However, in this reaction, you have lost those emotions and become a critic - okay, but criticising using the negative comments written all over the internet and scripted it in this reaction is not okay. Probably you have reacted on too many mvs to come to the conclusion that live singing = out of tune singing. You become doubtful whether it is live or not when it sounded too good to be true. Thanks, we're not even bashing BM. We're selfish humans and just want a true 100% live vocal performance from them because we know they can. We don't follow or pay attention to whatever story circulating around. And this is us being genuine and real. We love BM and think they are the next BIG thing. @@WatchingSundaysThey are too young to make a different in their note yet i guess. They nees more experience to do that. So stick on the same harmonies like the studio version is the thing that they should do for now instead of taking risk changing it the note and make different sound. I dunno know your channel it just show up when i search BM but i hope you do introduction video on every member and witness how effortlessly they sing and hit highnotes without crazy facial expressions.👍
