you should check a cover by a member of them called RAMI, to the song 'Pick up your feelings'. It has an insane Highnote, she sang it when she was 15.

Hi Zoe, first time listening to your reaction. The blonde singer you mentioned is Rami, 16, born and raised in Korean. She does speak some English but isn't totally fluent. However, she has a very good grasp of what how to pronounce the English she knows.

Their name "BabyMonster " os because they are kids , for sure ! Ruka have 22 years , Pharita have 19 years, Asa ,18 years, Ahyeon have 17 years Rami have 16 years and Rora and Chiquita have 15 years old. They are baby...monsters !!!😂😂😂
This is Inkigayo which is a live concert. But Inkigayo does do a number of pre concert screenings. Inkigayo then do a post production edit to pick the best scenes. So it is live but they have spliced a few live performances together. The girls are highly trained 5 to 7 years now so expect a very polished performance. Watch its live with a live band for more vocals. There are also live radio station performances. No AI with Baby Monster. Hint. The name Baby Monster is what these girls are Monster talent. Auditioned and selected from thousands of applicants and trained for 5 to 7 years. They are trained for live performances and actually do not need backtracks. The girls usually provide their own live harmonies, and live background vocal support. The dance routines here are actually relatively simple and designed for live singing. They actually are also a highly trained dance crew and can deliver a much more complex dance routine.
@@rikakasumi2002 You are wrong in inkigayo if it is sung live, only there are several sections to choose the best one, this is where lesserafim, illit, and other groups have been badly stopped by their vocals, and because they don't know how to sing, what happens is that the Korean fans had gotten used to lip syncing, that the day babymoster sang live with the band they were scared of how good they are, That day they received a lot of criticism, from the fans, plus the music critics, the real critics, They began to praise their vocal abilities and their stage presence. @@rikakasumi2002 You are absolutely right, I always suggest you watch the presentations on the radio or it's live on RUclips, Don't worry about that, the Korean newscasts are talking about and praising the babies and highlighting the great talent they have, they are also talking about the sold out ones in their presentations on the 10th and August 11, there were even fans with signs asking YG to set another date, the girls are growing organically and little by little they are gaining management and respect

Look for the “It’s Live” channel where you can listen to this song again being sung live with a band, without the dance moves. Then you can also listen to the other songs of the girls being sung live on the same channel so you can judge their vocal ability. Really monster talent!
@@Juampi345 baby Monster sings their performances live. Other groups like illit use backtracks because they were selected to perform after only 6 months audition and training. Baby Monster trained for now 5 to 7 years and live performances is what they trained for. They do not use backtracks. They don't need to.
Asa is a beast, one of the fastest rappers in kpop and beautiful vocals too. They have a couple songs that are all nothing but beautiful vocals

Baby Monster are really amazing at vocals. Most if not all the members can sing and are really good live. Pharita and Ahyeon specifically have natural loud projection that even when they aren’t opening their mouth wide (like someone would when going loud or higher in tone) they still can project loud and clear. I’d say their vocal line (Pharita, Rami, Ahyeon, Rora, Chiquita) are one of the most strongest vocal lines in kpop as a group.
For more vocal songs. Watch Baby Monster Stuck in the middle and their pre debut Dream. Also Charlie Puth gifted them a song Like that.

The YG producer is Choice 37, Robin Cho. He is the only American in Baby Monster. The girls are, 2 Japanese, Ruka and Asa, 2 Thailand Pharita and Chiquita and 3 Koreans, Rami, Ahyeon and Rora. Pharita, Ahyeon and Chiquita studied english from a young age in school and from watching TV. Ahyeon learned English from singing Disney songs. The other girls learned English at YG as part of their YG training.
not sure what you mean by Choice37 "only American in Baby Monster"? Korean-American BigTone, the Rap Trainer often seen with Asa in the Introduction video is out of NewYork, and is a Rapper and Songwriter that works with BabyMonster. All his family is in the US and he only came to Korea after the age of 20, with his first jobs being an English Instructor.
About English communiative abilities, Pharita and Ahyeon are fluent already, others are good enough at communicative level.
Ahyeon, Rami, Rora studied English in school, and practice more from watching TV, listen and sing English songs.
Ruka, Asa, Chiquita, Pharita studied English in school and English & Korean in home school while being YG trainee. They also practice more from watching TV, listen and sing English songs.
@@jl-rt5it Big Tone was the producer for Batter Up and for final evaluation training. Have not seen any more credits on any other Baby Monster song other than Choice37. So his path with Baby Monster is likely ended. The raps have been written by Hyun Suk Choi of Treasure and the latest Forever is by Masta Wu. No Big Tone anywhere in sight.

He is still with YG, your logic that other people have credits on more recent songs does not mean he will not be there in the future. Babymonster like Treasure draws from multiple writers, they work on different songs within the album. Not being on the credits for a song does not mean he is not on the BM team. He is still a chief Rap trainer within YG so this is still ongoing, especially with Chiquita being trained up. You have to agree that the song sample size is small right now. The new album coming up is exciting and there will be more than double the amount of songs so far.
@@jl-rt5it so you want me to also mention all the American writers and composers? At this stage Choice37 Robin Cho is the main producer and the 8th member of Baby Monster. It is like Teddy from Blacklabel is considered the 5th member of Blackpink even though Choice37 did produce many of Blackpink songs.

Inkigayo is a live concert. Inkigayo do a number of pre concert takes and do splice a number of pre concert takes into the post production video. So it is live just a number of live performances spliced together.

Almost everything else is gonna have a track or split as thats just how kpop is with everything having to sound perfect.

The blonde singer us 100% Korean and raised in Korea 😂 none of them are English native actually, 3 are Korean, 2 japanese and 2 Thai members, one of the thai members is fluent in English but still was raised in Thailand

They been called "Live Monster" 'cause they can sing live better than recording one. 5 vocalists can rap, 2 rappers can sing. They had their monthly evaluation for 6-3 yrs of training before debut...😅 and now they are 15-18 yrs old 22 oldest.
It's pre-recorded for this kinda program but, you can see their live singing with live band in "It's live" program.

Hi, welcome to Babymonster songs! The blonde one is Rami, she was born and lived in Korea. They are seven members: 3 korean, 2 japaneses (the rappers) and 2 thai
They sung it live, but there were a couple additional takes just for various camera angles, but yes they sound almost exactly like the actual recording (were getting hit with lipsync allegations until they were like, oh you want to see live? well show you live) and almost even better than most of the time (many industry professionals who hear them live are gobsmacked). If you want to be even more impressed, these girls are currently 15-22 (chosen for their group at 13-21, average training period was 3.5/4 years with most beginning around age 10). They are considered monster rookies, and when the group name was announced people thought it was cringe/silly, but after watching these girls perform live again and again (especially bc there was a big controversy regarding live vocals on kpop when their first minialbum came out, with some groups struggling with singing their own songs live, then these girls came and were like your excuses mean nothing), everyone is like ok yes i get it you’re right thats exactly whay they are. But yes they make every single one of their songs sound even better when performed live, which is so insane. Other songs/performances I would check out include the It’s Live performances of Sheesh and Forever, Haram’s Pick Up Your Feelings, Ahyeon’s Dangerously (Charlie Puth actually saw this and ended up giving them the song Like That which I would also check out), Stuck in the Middle, Rora’s Someone You Loved, Asa’s Me Myself and I (ace of the group, the machine-gun rapper, and she was rapping Godzilla at like 14 but she also sings so well, and despite being Japanese has perfect Korean pronunciation), Pharita’s All of Me, Ruka’s Astronaut in the Ocean mashup, and Chiquita’s Traitor (she was recovering from COVID at that time tho)and their Dream MV, most of which were literally pre-debut. They also have intro solo covers filmed at different points of their training which will also impress you especially considering their ages. highly recommend getting more into them, I dont think youll be disappointed - vocal coaches go crazy over them.
You are hearing the backing vocal track, which is common when they are dancing. If you want to hear it with no backing vocals, try the "It's Live" versions of their songs, they are there with a live band, sing live, no backing vocals, and they are not dancing. It is actually a very well done format.
Ahyeon and rami are the main vocalists of baby monster but the group as a whole has really good vocals
Watch their performance on 'Its Live' or any of their lives on radio. No back tracks pure vocals and they do it amazing.

RAMI is Korean and they learn English in school beginning age 5 or so. Pronunciation is unknown as they are not natural English speakers.
Maybe you have seen Pharita who sings high notes but doesn't change a slight bit of facial expression. She make high notes sounds so easy.

For Inkigayo, they are allowed like they would do it in their concert which can be a split between pre-recorded and live vocals. The one thing with BABYMONSTER is that they are able to do it almost completely live. They have proven it on radio shows and in their fan meet when they have the live band backing them instead. It depends on the performance the split difference of the backing track and live vocals.
None of them are American born or lived in America. 3 members are born in Korea, 2 are from Japan, and 2 from Thailand. Most of them English is their second or third language. The rappers which are from Japan is their third language as they learned to speak Korean more fluently first. For the Thai members Korean is their third language as Pharita went to an international school so she is fluent in English. Chiquita, the other Thai member could speak English enough to communicate and is learning Korean. Ahyeon is the other member that is fluent in English since she was learning since age 5. The blonde which is Rami is Korean botn and can speak English but no one knows how fluent she is but we do know that she is a good student and so I don't doubt that she can at least conversationally speak English.
Mist if the members have been training for about 4 - 5 years with the exception of the Thai members. Pharita and Chiquita was the last two to be added to the BAEMON project and have been training for 1 - 2 years. The reason that their singing in English is so good is because during their evaluations they do a lot of cover song in English.
Asa is the one that does the fast rap and she does a lot of tongue twisters for practice. Most times doing them in one breath. She has been known to take on some of the faster raps in her evaluations.
And as far as it looking like they are not struggling with their vocals, that is mostly from their training. They have some behind the scenes where they are just sitting or casually singing and making it look easy. It is without music so there isn't any backing track to hide the split between recorded and live vocals.
none of these ladies are american-born, but a few of them have good english pronunciation because they practiced! namely rami, ahyeon and pharita. please react to more babymonster/kpop, you're really fun to watch!!

If you want live,no touch up watch their concert performances fancams..Babymonster is from yg enterrainment. A company that takes pride on producing artist that can sing real live and give the best and worthy concert performances.. If you look into all yg artists you will know how they are all much better live than their studio versions..unlike kpop these days that mostly rely on autotune and lipsync their live stages, yg trained their idols and build their stamina so they can dance,jump,run and still sing live on all their performances
