- My girlfriend washes the Lancair 360, then we fly to Flagler Airport in our Lancair IV-P for breakfast. Landing at 3:40. MOJOGrip recently reviewed this Lancair IV-P
We live in Spruce Creek Fly-In Community - where most homes have attached hangars! I’ve been a pilot for years and we have 2 airplanes in our hangar that we like to fly around Florida. I spent 8 years building my Lancair 375 on my own and my girlfriend calls it my “other girlfriend” 😂. We also recently purchased a Lancair IV-P . We needed more speed, more luggage space and we needed A/C. Can’t say enough good things about this airplane.
Most Saturdays, along with the other Lancair pilots in the neighborhood, we fly to breakfast. Since COVID-19 has most of the airport restaurants closed or with limited seating capacity, we haven’t been flying as much. Feeling a little couped up in the house, we decided we needed to get out and flew the new plane to Flagler airport. I packed a picnic breakfast, and we watched other planes practice touch-and-gos. After breakfast and some photo ops, we flew back to Spruce Creek (7FL6). Nailed the landing...

Looking forward to seeing more of this Lancair-IV on your channel. Awesome aircraft. Would love to see a detailed flight vlog in the flight levels to see real world performance. Looks like you guys are living the dream!
Yes we are! And we can absolutely do a detailed flight vlog...
A very sophisticated small plane..👍
It is amazing to fly ✈️
Nice Landing!!!
...I likes. Saw your
plane on MOJO.
...Beautiful!
Thank you! We are really enjoying it. Appreciate you watching our video...
@@gaFlights My pleasure. The two of you seem...joyous. And that's how I think LIFE should be lived. Enjoy.
That landing was great. Seriously, two thumbs up.
Thanks I was glad that one was on video.
Look at you go man... enjoying life. Very nice.
Amazing landing!! Well done!!
Yeah I was so glad that I had that landing recorded.
Only 1.3k subs with a couple sweet planes and a stone cold fox of a wife that is co-star in your videos? I am worried about our nation 🤣. Love the planes and the way put your videos together!
That is so funny and I couldn't agree more. We try to put some excitement into the videos but alas they don't get many views or subscribers. We are still having fun with it.
Great video & great aircraft!! I had the chance to visit Creek in 2018 during our flying vacation in Florida (7 European pilots) - it was amazing, friendly people and great aircraft over there! Fly-In communities like Spruce Creek are so enviable.. Would love to live there!
We agree the community here is great.
The landing gear looks so flimsy yet I'm sure it's fine. Avionics look incredible.
I agree especially when the gear is in transition. When it is in the down and locked position it is surprisingly firm and yet still has some flexibility to absorb the stresses of landing.
Beautiful machine. Nice job
Thanks it took 8 years to build the two seat Lancair.
Video looks great watching in the phone
Thanks for the feedback. I saw a 240Z on your channel. I had one of those years ago. Really cool car. I had a 1971 and that car had great lines. I remember always balancing those SU carburetors but the rest of it worked great. Nice mods on yours.
Superb landing. Wow that landing gear looks sketchy. Great little plane.
Thanks for the feedback on the landing. This plane(4 seat Lancair) is easier to land than the two seat Lancair. The two seater is so light on the wing that it likes to continue to fly.
I’m studying for my Drone Pilot license now! May consider going for manned Airplane as well. Great video!
imho Drone Pilots are going to be in demand as more and more airplane activities are performed remotely with Drones. However, flying these planes is nothing short of a thrill. Aviation ... send it...
Great camera shots. Great video!
Thanks the external shots are great.
Mate - I was jealous of your 360. That's just been increased exponentially by the fact that YOU OWN A IV-P!! Live the dream my friend!! I'm heading up to Sydney to check out a 360 that's for sale on Friday 18 Sep. Here's hoping!
Believe me I count my blessings everyday that I can enjoy these things. Good luck with the 360 you are looking at. We need more world wide Lancair Pilots.
As we say here in greece, the good captain can be seen, when the storm breaks out......
And a good captain avoids storms when possible. : )
Great video!! Subscribed for more.
I have a few more flight videos that I'll be posting in the next couple of days.
Great video
Thanks for the feedback we enjoy putting these together.
Beautiful plane. Thought I recognized it from Mojo. 👍 Cool pool enclosure. Is it screened or glass?
Screened - in FL you have to have a screen to protect from the mosquitoes 🦟. And thank you on the plane - I spent 8 years building it and am pretty proud of it!
@@gaFlights You should be! It's a beauty. Thanks for the info on the enclosure. I grew up in Houston, so, same issue!
She can wash my plane anytime. I'm a big tipper!
Very nice my friend enjoy both looks amazing one day I’ll will pass by with my TTX
Idk why, but I find the glitch on the right landing gear upon landing quite odd. And considering that on lancair, there has been quite a few cases in which the landing gear unlocks its self during landing... Might want to check that out. But anyway great video as usual !!
Thanks for pointing that out. I'm having the condition inspection happening right now and we haven't gotten to the gear yet. I agree with you on taking a close look at the right gear and the entire retract system.
Now we’re really talking, that’s a hundred percent better, very classy. Love the panel insert and airspeed tape on landing. The poses at the end next to the sign and the rest are first class, really good, sooooo much better than the leather bunny suit stunt, ugh don’t do that stuff again. Now you just need a prop filter to get rid of propeller blur.
Thanks for the feedback
🤩🤪
this is a video promoting the lady im assuming
I miss our 4P so much. I really wish we didn't have to sell her.
I agree these are great traveling airplanes.
I wish I knew you were selling it...I may have taken that off your hands. Darn
We are enjoying these airplanes so we are not selling them anytime soon. : )
@@gaFlights I knew you two would never be selling your planes...they are absolutely beautiful! Keep up the videos. I was speaking of Shawn Johnson who apparently sold their plane.
I don’t know much about airplanes in general , but that landing gear looks really spindly.
Thanks for watching and yes it looks spindly to me as well. Surprisingly when it is down and locked it is a fairly strong landing gear system.
That landing gear dosen't look like it would take much punishment.
Thanks for the comment and yes the Lancair IV-P has a series of service bulletins that address weak points in the landing gear system. The main gear has a lot of flexibility in the gear legs to absorb the stresses of landing. I always try to set it down as smoothly as I can.
...so does the house come with the trophy wife and BBQ or is that extra?
It does but I had to replace the grill because it had a meltdown. : )
Cool who does preflight ?
I do the preflight, I haven't made a video on that because it is kinda boring. Maybe I'll put a video on the preflights.
The gear is stolen from Cessna 182RG. Has the same lag just before going up.
I agree, and yes it also looks odd as it folds back. The other challenge is to do a gear swing you have to jack the plane up about 14" so that as the gear retracts it has room to extend down before it goes up.
I don't get it.
😀👍🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
So much for a wash...
Co-pilot /not bad 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
Thanks and I have to remember no distractions in the cockpit. : )
I did not see girl in bikini in this video
Man...I want a Lancair (Evolution, really) so I can get a smok'n hot babe!
Yes these are amazing birds : )
about four times within 2 Min 30 sec......I do hear the call "gear check" a.s.o......; = yepp....; that gear is "in" for sure......:-( .....; maybe you could that fact also put in written form in your vid...... :-)
That is a funny observation and I do agree... So I know many other Lancair pilots and I haven't met one yet that hasn't had to deal with some type of gear issues. (e.g. stuck gear doors, gear that wouldn't retract, gear that wouldn't extend....) I've had my share as well. In fact when I bought this Lancair IV-P the hydraulic pump would constantly cycle. (In other words it would continue to have to charge the system because of hydraulic leaks. About every 90 seconds it would run again). After some review..... There was leaks everywhere mostly poor hydraulic line fittings flares. Enough leaks that there was hydraulic fluid on the bottom of the fuselage after a 30 to 40 minute flight. So do I verify the gear in both retraction and extension.... Yes I will probably continue the redundancy of verifying the gear. - GAflights (The final paper check box is really funny) (BTW - The system will now hold pressure for a considerable time - But I still verify) : )
Nice blond plane.
Thanks and she is a fast plane as well. : ) and very hard to land. : )
I wonder if I make a video that starts with my 60 year old fat body wearing a speedo if i'll get as many views as you?
Funny but a lot of our videos start the same way and this is the only one that has really had a lot of views.
