David Crosby had a musical career full of tragedies and loose living , but he was also very fortunate to have so many people helping him out . Early in his career he only had big hits with the Byrds from songs written by other artists , and later in his career he was very fortunate to have Phil Collins pay for his liver transplant and have Peter Tork lend him money for his ocean yacht , and he didn't seem to have any financial problems with his many wives and children - lucky guy !!! He lived until 81 which isn't bad since other people around him were dying at young ages . I think it was back in 2019 when David Crosby did an interview where he said he had three stent operations on his heart and he was laughing like it was no big deal - that's what amazed me about David Crosby - that he had no fear of dying even when he led a very unhealthy lifestyle and needed medical help quite often !!! If he touched it musically, it was golden. I loved everything he ever did... I will miss his music terribly, and am so thankful I still have all the albums on vinyl, and now on CD as well. RIP to one of the most talented musicians - ever.
There’s no way he was born in 1991. My son was born in 1991 and he’s 32 years old. So that is incorrect. There’s no way that would make him 81 years old. 😂

We all have our demons and faults. Great artists take their demons and faults and create memorable music, art, and writing. It’s why they’re recognized, appreciated, remembered, and missed after they’re gone.
He was 81, what, do you want him to hang on until he's 100 and doesn't know where he is? Not tragic..."the cycle of life and death," all the success and money and women and acclaim most of us will NEVER get to experience, yes, drug addiction but a blessed life by any measure. RIP
Although I loved him you made a good point Josh. When you get around 80 the odds aren't too good. As a nurse I see people in their 90s hooked up to machines, suffering. Mostly the family "want everything done" so the patient suffers. Selfish love maybe?
David Crosby said that when he sentenced to prison in Texas for drug possession for 9 months, is credited with saving his life. On his first day, there, he was going through cold turkey. The attitude of the guards was, "Ok Rock Star. You got yourself into this, now you git yourself out."
My favorite solo brings back memories of discovering whatevel album had his head silouhette w/ the pink sun background; found it in a dorm room of a friend at Wash. State Univ. in 1971.....that song favorite is "Orleans."
David Crosby had a liver transplant. David Crosby underwent a liver transplant in 1995. The musician part of the Crosby, Stills & Nash trio was taken to hospital in November with suspected liver failure. This is thought to have come as a result of years worth of drug and alcohol abuse.
CS&N needed more guitar...story goes that in spite of their ego/competition conflicts, Stills suggested bringing in Neil for a "tryout". Neil's talent amazed them during the "tryout". I read somewhere that when Neil completed the "tryout", David walked up and asked, "Uh Neil, can we be in your band?"
Judy Blue Eyes is a Masterpiece, but as a teenager, I thought sections were obnoxious. Not anymore. Crosby's voices helps the Stills composition. I wasn't big on Teach Your Children, but I loved Ohio. The song he sang on that really grabbed me was Southern Cross. The Byrds, however, is a top five R&R band of mine. I can literally listen to them all day. So, that makes David Crosby one of my most favorite R&R / Folk vocalists. Bob Dylan is an excellent composer, but I like the Byrds' performances of Dylan's songs better than the Dylan versions.
A few corrections. He was obviously NOT born in 1991. The solo album was called If I could only remember MY name, not YOUR name. The album was Wind ON the water not wind OF the water. Those are the obvious ones. Who knows what else is wrong.
David Crosby and his bands were harmony itself, something that is less so today. Cutlure will not exist without harmony and love. Words, angst and separate communities will never have strength.

In regard to the death of legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen a couple of years ago, isn't Crosby the guy who publicly said something classless like *"I don't know why everyone is making such a big deal about EVH's legacy. He was a good guitarist, but he wasn't THAT good."* ? I'm paraphrasing, but it was something similar to that. _Again, he said it just a couple of days after his death. He DID finally apologize... but the apology came 3-4 days later... and it was only offered up after everyone (fans, fellow musicians, etc) were saying what an a-hole he was to disparage Eddie's memory, especially after only just a couple of days from the date of his passing._ It was definitely not Crosby's finest hour.
Lol so you're doing exactly what Crosby did? He's been dead 2 days, and you're shitting on him for doing the same exact thing he did to Van Halen. I'd just delete this comment cause you sound as dumb as the guy saying he was born in 1991.

R.I.P. AND R.I.P. ( ROCK IN PARADISE) TOP LEFT TO ALL THE GREAT MUSIC.
And what about that incredible sound chemistry with PhilCollins whithin that brethtaking But Seriously album of 1989 Another Day, That's just the way, Hero and many other songs....?
Do people even keep track of these things? I doubt it. He was so talented. It’s a shame he is gone. Glad he had children with Melissa etheridge and Julie. I hope his children are as talented as him
@deborahlangnese7645 Crosby often performed in his later years with his very talented biological son, James Raymond (born in ‘62), who sought him out in his early thirties.
The cause of his death wasn’t tragic. He was 81. He went to sleep, in his own bed, in his own home, and didn’t wake up. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Great info, RIP DAVID !!!
Thanks for watching! We're glad to know that you love our video. May David find peace 🙏
How in the World was David Crosby born in 1991?
Southern cross is my favorite song from Crosby, stills and Nash! R.i.p David!
He's 29 years older than me and I was born in 1960. How can he be 81 born in 1991?
I don't think much to your maths. He was 19 years older than you.
@@forgottencas2272 sorry, hit the wrong number and didn't proof read. The main point was they said he was born in 1991.
Always loved your music! RIP David Crosby
We love David too! May he find peace 🙏
So, you don't know how he died, but you're sure that it's tragic.
🤨
Being how he leaned I think we can figure it out!
David Crosby said that when he sentenced to prison in Texas for drug possession for 9 months, is credited with saving his life.
On his first day, there, he was going through cold turkey. The attitude of the guards was, "Ok Rock Star. You got yourself into this, now you git yourself out."
You said he was born in 1991 and that it's not certain what he died from. So why the description of this video?
David's music is on the play list of my life. Lee Shore was my favorite

Oopsie! You said he was born in 1991. You silly goose ❣️ Great upload and I appreciated the in-depth background information about his life. 😊
Thanks for watching! We're glad to know that you love our video. If we may ask, what is your favorite Byrds song?
@@FactsVerse , Turn, Turn, Turn. 😊
One of our favorites too, thanks! Be safe and have a great week 💕
Loved their music. Great songs. Grew up with their music. RIP.
We're very happy to know that you're a fan of David. Which Byrds song is the most memorable for you?

“I’ll Feel A Whole Lot Better”
My favorite solo brings back memories of discovering whatevel album had his head silouhette w/ the pink sun background; found it in a dorm room of a friend at Wash. State Univ. in 1971.....that song favorite is "Orleans."
Thank you so much for your favorite song and life story! Be safe and have a great day ahead ♥=
David Crosby had a liver transplant. David Crosby underwent a liver transplant in 1995. The musician part of the Crosby, Stills & Nash trio was taken to hospital in November with suspected liver failure. This is thought to have come as a result of years worth of drug and alcohol abuse.
Drug use. Not alcoholic

He did release a new album last month
this says nothing about a utterly tragic reason for his death so the title makes no sense.
I thought this was a parody spoof when you claimed he was born 1991 and died at 81 obviously math isn’t your strong suit
Your video starts out saying he was born in 1991.
I think your research may be wrong, just a feeling...
Thanks for the info R.I.P.

A few corrections.
He was obviously NOT born in 1991.
The solo album was called If I could only remember MY name, not YOUR name.
The album was Wind ON the water not wind OF the water.
Those are the obvious ones. Who knows what else is wrong.
The inaccuracies in this video are jaw dropping
David Crosby and his bands were harmony itself, something that is less so today. Cutlure will not exist without harmony and love. Words, angst and separate communities will never have strength.

Born 1991? The author of this video obvi doesn't even know who David Crosby is. CSN&Y performed at Woodstock in 1969. If you're going to do a feature on someone, would be a good idea to do research & get the facts correct. Just whow.
Southern Cross, but also Teach Your Children Well
And then there was Delta. Definitely one of my favorites.

David was actually kicked out of the Byrds... but as far as I'm concerned, the band ended at that point.

R.I.P. David Crosby. 🤩😍🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
May David find peace. Which song is your favorite?
I heard 1991 and then I turned off the video
I loved David..at least he tried and did well by trying to work every thing out..n forgave n was forgiven..im researching him..he was a very good person..no one is perfect... I love his voice its beautiful n guitar 🎸 playing..be kind n try to understand the grief n all he had to learn on his own like all of us..no one is perfect at least he tried n went on with his life..thank God he met Jan❤️✌️☮️💜❤️rest in peace David!!
I would assume he was born before 1991 as was stated in this broadcast.
81 that is a good run. Considering the lifestyle he had earlier in his life.
It says he was born in 1991 which isn't true. Facts Verse, which isn't very factual.
Don't want to comment on David Crosby cause there was alot not to like about the man.
You said it....don't know where all these accolades are coming from?
He was one of a kind but I loved him
Tragic death? You don't know how he died
He DID finally apologize... but the apology came 3-4 days later... and it was only offered up after everyone (fans, fellow musicians, etc) were saying what an a-hole he was to disparage Eddie's memory, especially after only just a couple of days from the date of his passing._
It was definitely not Crosby's finest hour.
Nice to bring up negative in memory of one’s death 🙈
Lol so you're doing exactly what Crosby did? He's been dead 2 days, and you're shitting on him for doing the same exact thing he did to Van Halen. I'd just delete this comment cause you sound as dumb as the guy saying he was born in 1991.
@@cyndihadlock8711 Death does not erase the negative aspects of a person’s life.
RIP David 🙏 ❤️
David will be missed. Which of Byrds song appealed to you the most?
You said he played a bar tender in the movie Thunderheat but it was called Thunder Heart with Val Kilmer. R.I.P. David Crosby!
JAMES SCOTT NICHOLSON,ONTARIO,CANADA 🇨🇦 I COULD NOT AGREE MORE, I MEAN IT IS NOT LIKE A TINY BLOOPER LIKE SAYING THAT WHILE ALIVE, MILLIONS OF US MISS HIM, AND MISTER SYMPATHETIC, CAN’T EVEN GET HIS BIRTHDAY RIGHT WHILE AND THIS IS WHO DOES THE OBITUARY??? R.I.P. AND R.I.P. ( ROCK IN PARADISE) TOP LEFT TO ALL THE GREAT MUSIC.
last sentence- no body knows what he died from.... So how is this utterly tragic? THumbs Down
Rest in Heaven David
I went to drug court in Tulare county with David... Rest in peace brother.
Born 1942
Once again, “facts” aren’t!
And what about that incredible sound chemistry with PhilCollins whithin that brethtaking But Seriously album of 1989 Another Day, That's just the way, Hero and many other songs....?
What was so tragic about his death other then his dying?
the fact that if a human takes care of themselves most can live until there late 80s to 90s and he passed at only 81. It's truly awful really
Do people even keep track of these things? I doubt it. He was so talented. It’s a shame he is gone. Glad he had children with Melissa etheridge and Julie. I hope his children are as talented as him
Beautiful words, thank you for your message for David. Which Byrds song appealed to you the most?
@deborahlangnese7645 Crosby often performed in his later years with his very talented biological son, James Raymond (born in ‘62), who sought him out in his early thirties.
August 14,1941 for those fact checkers💋

how can you say he was born in 91? that would make him 31 not 81.
Born in 91 folks!
The cause of his death wasn’t tragic. He was 81. He went to sleep, in his own bed, in his own home, and didn’t wake up. Doesn’t get much better than that.
He was 81. He made it a long time considering. What is tragic about that?
Born Aug 14th 1991? Now i don't trust any of this video and I'm only 27 seconds in!
