Speed - The Ride (abandoned) - Las Vegas, Nevada

Had some free time in Vegas waiting for my friends flight to land for EDC, so I drove around a bit to go find the storage site of the former 'Speed - The Ride' coaster, built by Premier Rides and once located at the Nascar Café / Sahara Hotel at the other end of the Las Vegas Strip from where it now sits abandoned. Speed operated from 2000 until 2011 and was by far the standout coaster in Vegas, I was lucky enough to ride it a few times when I visited in 2009 and while I liked the ride I wasn't really surprised it never got built somewhere else. In 2012 the ride pieces were moved from Sahara to a new project going up called Akita Plaza that became London, Las Vegas but both never actually got off the ground and 10 years later, Speed remains in pieces laying out in the Nevada Desert, just off the Strip near the Airport.
