Pixel phones are notoriously janky. Also, glorified Exynos chipset.

@@harrydrake4173 pixels are the iPhones of android smooth and get updates before anyone else the pixel 8 may not have the benchmarks that iPhone 15 pm has but it makes up for it with ai improvements from google assistant to photos while iPhone has all that power and can’t do nothing with it you can’t even do split screen or float an app on the iPhone and Siri is trash iPhones are mainly for instagram and TikTok etc. iMessage and FaceTime that’s it me personally prefer the galaxy s23 ultra at the moment but I respect what the pixel 8 pro is doing and I love the direction google is going with it
@@harrydrake4173janky? I've been using Pixel phones for the last 5 or 6 years and haven't experienced anything I haven't seen in other phones. The only real issue is that they're underpowered compared to the competition, although they make up for that with all the fancy software features.

I was always an android user until 2020. Since then I have had the 12 pro max, 14 pro and now I’m still waiting on the arrival of my 15 pro max.. however my message to google would be, keep it up, I’m seeing you, I’ve noticed what your up to. Keep pushing and go head to head with Apple and Samsung on hardware and I’d seriously be willing to move back.

999 for this tho? These a.i features are not really new they exist already in editing apps and it's nice that they implemented them in an easier way to use for every day things but these features aren't so many.. I think 999€ Is too much even if you consider using all of them every day

@ibroleem yeah not me , I download everything modded/cracked but still it's so much cheaper even if you pay for these apps..
Now before someone comments that the video audio got really soft when you zoomed in... Most likely Google is doing the same thing where you zoom in and it focuses on the audio of what's in the frame. Being that we were just staring at a wall, there was no audio to pick up. But if there was, say, a street performer... It would focus on the audio from the musician.
I'm not sure at all if the older pixels did that as well.
Really Pixels best phone. I didn't have a problem with the 7p, but this improved in every way.

The pro gets the attention because it's basically the same thing with the best the company has to offer, the 8 is nearly identical besides the zoom and smaller battery

Curious, how has the phone been for you? I am thinking about upgrading from my S22 Plus to the Pixel 8 pro.
I had preordered and received my Pixel 8pro yesterday. I've been using it all day and it's been great so far! I upgraded from an iPhone 13 Pro Max.
I didnt notice the bezels so 🤷 and i havent felt it get warm except when i had activated and set up the phone. Been watching RUclips, TikTok, web browsing, and have already made a few phone calls. Using the phone honestly reminds me of my iPhone just now with a split screen option. Easy to use and simple.
Take it outside all day and use mobile data. That will be the real test as the 7s were terrible for battery life on data.
Every phone I test is worse on 5G than Wi-Fi

Actually the face unlock this year is level 3 which is secure and can be used for banking and other secure stuff
Yeah I realized that after it wouldn’t work with my picture test
Also the pixil 8 pro has better reception I compared the difference between my pixil 7 pro. My pixil 8 pro gets 4 to 5 bars my pixil 7 pro gets 1 to maybe 2 at best consistently so 8 pro is much better
A very premium phone.
They still look dimmer even after upgrading their screen brightness. What you can get from Samsung at 40% brightness you get from Google at 80% brightness. Where did they pack all those nits, between 80% to 100%?
Auto brightness will maximise the brightness. Manual slider only does a fraction of what the screen can output
Nick and MKBHD are the only two tech reviewer I can trust😅
Another reviewer was mentioning that it might be 2400 nits, but it’s still dimmer than the iPhone pros 2000 in direct sunlight

IF I was to get an android it would be a pixel, and the phone looks great. I am going to stick with my 14 Pro Max.

I don't game on phones so I don't care about the benchmarks. I have a 15 pro as well. The Google Pixel 8 Pro feels just as fast as my iPhone. Smooth as silk. Fast. Really great phone.
Anyone complaining about bezels on the 8 pro needs to be throat punched. hard.
You said it's one of the best android picks for battery life without any proper testing. All other sources show that it's still probably the worst pick for battery life not even getting close to 23U despite same battery size. Google's own website has it as having less battery life versus the 7 pro.
It lasted easily from 6am yesterday until the next morning and as I said it will last a day, that's my honest experience. I never said it was better than another phone I said it lasts a whole day which is my experience

The pixel 8 pro with a (free pixel watch 2) during the preorder date in Canada was 🔥. Apple will never do that for sure. If Google one was like Apple One with a lot of stuff , it would be a big W

I just got my pixel 8 pro today, it has same problem as the pixel 7 pro, the scrolling lacks momentum. It's hard to explain, it's sort of sticky. It's not a hardware issue because the Samsung browser app is super smooth and fluid whereas all other apps the scrolling is wonky.
I noticed some of that in a couple apps , hopefully fixed in software updates
@@nickackermanchannel it’s not just a few apps, it’s everywhere. Just open RUclips and put a Samsung phone next to it. Swipe up gently on both phones and notice on pixel, the scrolling abruptly stops while Samsung glides and gently slows down.
@@pancake1997 trust me, I wish I didn’t notice it but when you have multiple phones and you switch phones it becomes obvious very quickly. Not an issue for majority of the people.

It looks silver initially but on closer inspection and in the light it is like a Champaign color it’s very classy
@joeguillian8955 Thanks for asking this. The Google keynote definitely said "accented by a soft gold trim". It looks straight silver on all reviews, but I was hoping it looked as shown in the keynote. I'll see for myself tomorrow!

16:06 What happened with the sound on a 5x video zoom? It looks like as more zoom you do the more focused sound is recorded. As the wider angle you used, the wider angle of sound was recorded. Am i wrong?

Really good phone probably the least boring
It is misleading that Google are promising all these AI and software based editing features and the like on the Pixel 8 series without CLEARLY telling people that these enhancements will only be added in future software updates and WON'T be on the device when you buy one. And then you have to use Google photos for some of them to work (possible subscription). Video editing has to be uploaded to the cloud for these to work. Some voice activated features will only work in English. Buyers beware. All that glitters sadly isn't gold.

I like the phone, I just wish they would use the snapdragon chips like Samsung! The tensor chips are not that great.

Can you comment on the G3. Is it fast enough to so called process photos? My pixel 7 pro always need that 4 to 6 seconds to process the photo before I can properly preview the photo that was just snapped...
Yeah google challenges the other flagship phones by giving it more color and a different way of using the phone. My samsung was boring but the battery was great. Pixel just needs to make stronger batteries

I got mine yesterday, I don't think im gonna keep it over my S23U - I just feel like im not getting as much phone with the 8 Pro - its very nice don't get me wrong but I just don't think im gaining enough by replacing my S23U with it, at least for my preferences anyway
Yeah S23U is like the king, this is definitely not as much phone, but it suits a different type of user better whereas the S23U also suits a different type of user better
@@nickackermanchannel ye 100%. I'm not one who really takes advantage of all the Google specific features so I'm sure other people do benefit more. In my testing the camera has been nice the last 24 hours, however I feel Google really do ramp up the HDR a bit too extreme a lot of the time, very rarely letting shadows be shadows etc it can look impressive sometimes but other times it just looks a bit too excessive to me. I understand why the photos can look better next to another competitor though because it can initially give you that wow reaction on first impression.
This is the only phone I care to have.

I don't think that anyone is going to use that half-assed temperature sensor two days beyond unboxing. The long software support is welcome and certainly sets the bar high for Samsung. Pixel 8 Pro is definitely a better value for money compared to Samsung.

Nope I didn’t say this one the best phone, I said it’s the best android phone right now, mostly because of the great cameras, long software support and smooth software. The S23U is neck and neck and the S24U will probably grab the crown again.

Its sad that google can slap a thermometer in pixel 8 pro, which nobody wanted or asked for, but they are not interested to acomodate a SD card slot. These companies stripping away popular features like headphone jack or sd card slot, makes me look toward sony xperia 1 v. If sony promised 5years of software n security, i would buy it at any price at all.
Please compare google pixel 8 pro, vs sony experia 1 v, vs samsung s23 ulta, in terms of user experience, UI, in hand feel, features, battery drain time, thermal management, and value for money. I ll buy one of these 3.
