Going to college in a big city but I live in the middle of nowhere. It’s an hour journey and no one I know is going
That’s okay we all need to start new somewhere, at first it may be a bit scary but once you start making new friends you’ll be fine I promise 🙃
Finished college 3 Years ago, went back for another year ( had to pay for it ) Gotta Admit it was Hard.
girl im starting college in manchester....i came from birmingham so i know no one here i live with my boyfriend and his family here, i never really focused in year 11 so im gonna focus now but i have a question sis..... how nerve wrecking is it all and what are student IDs for? also one more thing my induction day is on the 9th and my boyfriends is on the 6th so im so nervous
Girllllll, I kind of know how you fell with the moving situation. I had to move from my old college to a new one and went to both induction days and enrolments, but they were completely different which kinda of scared me because I went from an area and college I knew some friends there to a college I know absolutely no one so I do understand how you feel. When you say your going to focus now in year 11 do you mean your starting year 11 this year? If so my advice would be to try not mess around, don’t go out constantly without getting some revision done first, if you don’t understand anything speak out, depending on the subjects what videos about what your studying for or ask your teacher if you can stay behind for extra help if your willing to push your grade. However to answer your question on how nerve wrecking it really is I would say it really depends on what course you pick. They all can be very stressful based on the work and some people tend to full behind but to avoid that as soon as you get homework go home and start on it to get it out the way, because a lot of people leave it last minute. But college wise I think it depends on what college you pick because everyone has different experiences some good and some bad so I can’t really answer that 100%. But based on my own experience my first induction day was scary I won’t lie but I manage to new make friends and talk to people which helped me a lot cause I didn’t know anyone in that course. (You can do this by making small conversation with people) also student ID’s are very important, you need them to get into college. If you lose it you would have to pay for a new one and if you leave it at home they give you a replaceable one for the day. You can also use it to eat and lunch, break and the morning only if you’ve had free school meals before and if you have bursary. If you do the college usually put at least £4 in there everyday for you to eat. And it shows the teachers that your a student at there college so they are very important. (With your induction day your going to be scared because you know no one but as long as you smile and talk to people you’ll be okay don’t worry, sorry this was long😅 there’s a lot about college but Good luck❤️
@@lifewithdidi3169 🥰🥰Thankyou and yes haha I’ll reply more on Snapchat
I live in Manchester. Which college are you going?
@@paigesherriff.x7723 Did you go to loreto, xavarian, holy cross?
Is anyone doing an access course at Tameside college?
I went collage induction today idk if i like it yet .. and I'm going to this collage by myself ikno friends will come but like whenn 😖 i dont want to be by myself at lunch on the first day next week lmao
I know how you feel trust me I’m a very shy person. When I first started I didn’t like my course and college for a good 2 months but wants you make friends your opinion might change about the college it’s just that your not use to it right now because everything seems new to you. My advice for you would be to try and make at least 1 friend if not more on the first day so your not alone at lunch. you could do this by making small conversation with people in your course for an example, asking them for help if you don’t understand something, ask them what they like to do, what’s there name and ect. Just make sure you smile and try make a little bit of conversation and you will be fine trust me❤️
@@lifewithdidi3169 thank youu💕 I'll try
@@lifewithdidi3169 the people doing my course are mostly in the second year not year 12 so its hard to be friends with them so theres not really anyone but i did make one friend so thats okay but i hope i make more and have fun and stuff cuz i had the first day today and it was boring
@@hajratalib2125 hi, yeah I understand what you mean all I can stay is try getting to know more people in course bit by bit. I know it seems a bit scary because there all older but you never know also it is still only your first day, you’ll make more friends don’t worry. (With it being boring I would say give it a couple of weeks and hopefully you would start to enjoy it more) Good luck ❤️
wow, yes a year has gone by but exactly what you have said in this comment has been crossing my mind! I started yesterday (6th September) and i am attending a college where nobody from my secondary school went to. I don't want to be lonely and look desperate but I just wanna make friends and enjoy my course and time overall at college!
I’m scared for my induction today 😩external going to a new sixth formm
You’ll be alright dont worry just smile and try get to know people Good luck❤️

3:59 ive made that mstake due to covid think I left it to late how do I make friends as everyone has now formed their groups and they wont talk to me second year and no friends ik its not to late but how do I start talking to people as there are only 3 people in my class which are all girls everyone has left
alone and im disabled as i have social communication disorder
I’m so sorry to hear that you had to go through that, not being able to socialise with others and communicate can be very difficult. I would suggest you start off little by little, what I mean by this is that the 3 girls you have in you’re class room you can start to speak to one of them at a time instead of all 3 at a time since it can be quite overwhelming. You can speak to one of them by asking them questions like where there from? What’s there hobbies? What do they like to do? You can also start off by giving them a compliment, or if you ever get stuck on a question or school work you can always ask them for help, all these things will help you gradually more social but by bit. And I know it’s easy said then done but try one of these suggestions and let me know how it goes, if you ever need someone to talk to you can always message me❤️ Good luck
I maybe going next year is scary
You’ll be okay don’t worry
are you going?
