Good idea on moving the brake controller out of the elements, even though it didn't work. Also, group 27 and 31 are the most popular for boat use. Good choice.

How does it work puling a car or piece of equipment up with the deck being much higher? How do you keep the rope from rubbing too hard on the top of the deck? I'm trying to install one on my tilt trailer just like yours. Thanks

@ChadMerrill-k6w that cornet is rounded on my trailer so it's not a big deal. I've seen guys install rollers in the middle to handle this issue. Hope that helps
