Camel wasn't the official name, F.1 was, there's an explanation about that in the plaque. It's like with cars, people were tougher so they didn't need vehicles called T-rex RXR Mamba
Mirages are funny planes - aircraft all have what's called a "glide slope", which is the trajectory of the airframe if it loses all motive power. Basically, if the engines go out, how quickly does it auger into the dirt? Even things like the F-104 with its tiny little wings typically have a fairly 'shallow' glide slope. Not the Mirage though, oh no. It basically drops like a rock.
