    I have started to work on my trail hand wrist hinge and maintaining it as long as possible in the downswing. Keeps me coming from the inside with a shallow shaft and the clubhead is delofted. Tried it today on the course and I hit irons a club longer, nothing fat. My opening drive went 260! Ok, it hit a speed slot but a more typical good drive is 200. Thanks Milo!

    Great video, in your takeaway for the wrist hinge are you dynamically using your weight shift to the right foot to make the hinge happen or are you consciously making your right hand bend back to hinge (helping it to hinge).

    Hey guys, I tend to go for that early trail wrist ext; however, I have noticed two things. First it is very easy to max out the trail wrist extension early and then engage in trail forearm supination, getting the club a bit too much inside early. I suppose this could be remedied by adding a bit more radial. Also, from P3 to P4 those wrists may get overloaded and one gets narrow and laid off at the top. For those of us who have that tendency, should we extend that trail wrist later (perhaps, even in transition) or keep the early hinge and work on keeping the trial arm wider?

    this hanger training aid , promotes the knuckles down wrist action that leads to shaft lean, face control ect. I've been flipping for over ten years but played a decently straight ball but sometimes it would have a big draw. I never thought my face was open on the downswing because I would hit the ball straight enough to score. I tried all sorts of "stick" drills, more rotation and it would work in slow swings or half swings. I stumbled across another video what talked about knuckles down and this clicked with me . instead of the knuckles going up as in a flipper would do , turning the knuckles down is the opposite. when i first did this i was hitting the solid or some off the toe enough to shank it right. What causes the shanking when first doing this

    You slipped in a comment that was so important here. The idea that even if a player has non ideal vertical hinge that they "convert" it.
    Some time back you explained this so well and I think it would have been great to do it again here.
    My experience teaching forever is that for various reasons most players gravitate to some degree of vertical hinging. Which though not ideal, one can convert it to extension/flexion if they know how.
    The pickle is that the typical player wants to start rotating the face counterclockwise, in a misguided effort to "close" the face, when as you know, to convert you have to rotate clockwise .
    It's just such a critical concept and I loved when you went over it a while back.

After a few months I realized my students weren’t getting much better and many were worse. I have however worked under Jim McLean and Mike Malaska. I learned what I liked and didn’t from their philosophies. @@MiloLinesGolf We sound like kindred spirits. I would explain my journey very similarly.
      Only occasionally are great players good teachers, but when they are they are usually great teachers. Watching tour players try and teach is generally comical . I was watching Trevino teach recently and he has no idea what he is actually doing. And he's the best striker I've ever seen. Got to walk along with him once in a benefit tourney and it was ridiculous how much control of the ball he had. And the sound! But he can't teach to save his life. Love him but...
      The insurmountable task off a great player is figuring out why they were great players, which often screws them up as players, and then to figure out how to teach it on top of it! And that is a long haul.
      You made it Milo .

    When does the club release? Seems like The Hanger trains you to hold the angle and drag the handle through the hitting zone. That is no good. That is antithetical to how the club should release through the ball, is it not? The pros don’t hold angles and drag the handle through the hitting zone, from what I understand. They are releasing the club hard, but they are releasing it properly in relation to their body position. Am I wrong?

    • @JT-ii9qn
      @JT-ii9qn 2 года назад

      Your wrists should be relaxed despite maintaining arm structure. Then, your pivot promotes the release. I'm not good at this, but I think that's one of the concepts.

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  2 года назад +1

      The pros set angles properly and allow momentum to unload them. They don’t hold anything back but don’t force them to unload either. Pros have dynamic pivots and this aid will help the average player learn to pivot.

    • @MiloLinesGolf
      @MiloLinesGolf  2 года назад +1

      I have also never met a professional that couldn’t hold angles when needed to lower the flight.

    • @temporarystranger95
      @temporarystranger95 2 года назад

      @@MiloLinesGolf Of course pros can hold angles when they are trying to hit a low ball flight, as you describe, but that is not a normal release pattern. It just seems to me that The Hanger, as demonstrated in your video, does not promote a dynamic release of the club. There is no way the club shaft can line up vertically, after impact, with the left shoulder, left arm, left hip, and left leg with that dragging-the-handle action. All the pros, with few exceptions, line up beautifully after impact.

    • @temporarystranger95
      @temporarystranger95 2 года назад

      @@MiloLinesGolf I can see that this aid can facilitate the body pivot, but it does not promote, as demonstrated, a dynamic release (which is essential to create club head speed and lead to high, towering ball flights). I agree that most high-handicap golfers need work on wrist conditions and especially body pivot, but not at the expense of a proper release, imho. Thank you for your response.
