Super interesting, just bought this little thing on a whim. Never even touched electronic music tools before, but it looked very well designed and, as a drummer, gives me an outlet without bothering anyone outside of the studio. Thanks for sharing your tricks!
I was skeptical because of a few limitations of the EP, but honestly this thing gets me inspired to make music and I love the workflow. NOW ADD RESAMPLING, TE! If not, I may eventually sell it once I record some stuff with it... but even then it's AAA BATTERY POWERED AND ULTRA PORTABLE! I don't know if I will be able to bring myself to sell it.
Also having lots of fun with the ep-133. Being able to record the fader movement especially with time stretch and filters is very nice. Would be so sweet if there would be a possibility to record the punch-in FX as well like with the PO-33. But I guess you can't have everything.
Enjoying mine very much, such a great little machine. One little thing I don't like is that the slider button sticks out so far. I feel like it's going to easily get bent when sliding it in and out of a bag/backpack. Not a problem yet, but it makes it less robust on an otherwise well designed device.
@@wongalahara8196 i run a Dx7 emulator on my samsung phone synprez FM via usb c midi and run the headphone out of the phone to the input of the KO2, i use the pads on the ko2 to play the keys and use scale mode - easy and sounds great.
I have both. This device is super fun but the sp-404 mk2 is far more capable. You got the better end of the deal. The ko-2 is a fantastic portable sketch pad, while the 404 (especially with the last update) has multiple fx per and channels, skipback recall, a looper, chromatic samples, multi track stem export, koala sampler integration, and a ton of other stuff.
These are trash. Getting rid of mine. My circa late 1990's Zoom Sampletrak (packed away with my other obsolete gear) runs circles around this. From resampling to actually usable fx it leaves this piece of junk in the dust.
don't buy this shit for 330 Euro but a 198 Euro Roland Aira TD 3 granular sampler! With tone of effect and possibility!roland has just made you KO now..🤣😅
This was my first instrument in over 35 years and I'm having tons of fun with it! 😎
Thanks to Perfect Circuit 🙏
I enjoyed making this video!

I've learned so much from Son Wu (both his channel and personal lessons) and was excited to see this partnership with Perfect Circuit!
I always learn something new about the EP when I watch a Son Wu video
Excited to get mine hopefully today!
Haven't really messed w time stretch, n I didn't know you could do the multiple samples like that. That's great, thx for sharing

I really like my KO II and will be posting more beats soon
Awesome video, can't wait for my KO2 to arrive. Seems like in the basics it is similar to a Pocket Operator, which I absolutely loved using.

son wu is the best
The KO ii is great!
Highly recommend Son Wu's EP-133 Tutorial series

I love mine but im cautious with the flimsy fader!
Q. can you plug in a usb keyboard into the usb C connection to play the samples?
Yes
So you can hook up a keyboard and run midi via usb with it?

@@wongalahara8196I think so.
genuine question here, why wouldn't i just get a used sp 404?
little known fact the ko2 is a secret homage to craig jones.
Looks so flimsy. Feels so good I was shocked
Anyone know if you can sample VST's into the KOII?
Maybe converting the midi to audio in your daw and then sampling in?
That'd be pretty cool.
You can sample any audio with a sampler 👍
I just bought an SP 404 Mk2. Wanna trade? Seriously, I could have saved 200 bucks.

As an MPC user for the last 30 years.. the KO2 is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Especially for the price! You won't be disappointed!!
Looks like an old ass calculator

Folks like to clown on TE about their design, BUT don't this look exactly like RetroKits 008? I mean...c'mon? "Phone it in much?"
Agreed
