Thanks for the lesson! I'm curious about the "burst" method. What is the purpose of consciously tensing up? I get that it can help with speed temporarily, but it goes against everything I've learned about staying as relaxed as possible.
Tensing up trains your hand to reach higher picking speeds. If you always keep your hand fully relaxed, your hand won’t adapt to faster picking-it’s like going to the gym and not challenging your muscles. When playing near your "discomfort zone," your hand should be slightly tense, reaching a "tired hand" feeling. This is where you train for higher picking levels. Short bursts of extreme tension can help too, letting you hit "insane" speeds for a few seconds. Over time, this builds your ability to break speed barriers. It takes time and effort, but once you reach higher speeds and slow down slightly, you’ll find you can play faster with a relaxed hand. This progression improves both speed and control, making faster playing feel natural and easy. This is actually something I learned from Karri Hänninen. Check out his RUclips page!
Great stuff! 💪💪💪
Thank you!! :)
