Fabulous tutorial! Thank you for taking the time to film this and especially for taking time to explain the why’s of each step. Even a novice sewer like me could follow this!! God bless!
Thank you for doing this to help us out. Also wanted to say thank you for talking to us like we aren't a bunch of dummies, like some of the others do. You did awesome.
Liz, thank you for sharing this complete project folder tutorial along with all of the tips for a beautiful binding finish. So very generous of you! Can’t wait to try making one or several!
Hi Elizabeth! Love this folder and plan to make many more. I see seasonal fabric to match the season I am stitching. I made one change of adding a 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" clear pocket to the upper right on the front so I can put the name of the project contained in the folder. Thanks again for the great tutorial!
Great tutorial! I’ve made several project bags but none with a magnetic closure. May I suggest next time you make the wrap around tab, you leave the opening for turning on the LONG side? Much easier to get the corner fabrics turned through rather than the tiny opening at the bottom end. I look forward to making one very soon. Thanks again for sharing!
Thank you sooo much for the tutorial and the time you spent on it. It's excellent, you make exactly the right comments to help us through and I love the result. I'm gonna follow more of your tutorials soon!
I loved watching this tutorial. Let’s see what I need to make a bag: Everything, including a sewing machine, quilting rulers, rotary cutter, etc. Oh well, I’ll just watch and wish….😁
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been sewing for 63 years (not a typo). For many years I made my second income sewing. Your tutorial showed me the very best way to miter corners. Love your method. It works every time.
I've been quilting several years but learned a few tricks about binding in this tutorial. It's also the best tutorial for the magnetic closure I've seen. Thanks!
Thanks for the very precise instructions. I also like the extra tip on using a crochet hook for turning the flap and pushing out the corners. When doing the binding your instructions to stitch into the corners is also another great idea. Can’t wait to make myself a few of these folders thanks to your sharing your talents with this community.
You make the BEST tutorials, Liz! I just finished my first EPP project (it’s a 6 point start around a hexie) and was going to appliqué it down to a background. Was thinking about about making a vinyl project bag but wasn’t happy that the EPP wouldn’t really be visible. This is going to be perfect!!! 💃🥰👏
Fantastic tutorial. I’m reaming of making one of these project folders. When the time comes I’m sure that I’ll be watching this video again. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much for this great video. Your instructions are so easy to follow. I hope my process of creating a folder goes as easy as yours. Now, let's try to make one this week. By the way, I use your video to create my project bags. The video is so easy to follow.
You did an excellent job of showing us how to make this bag. Thank you for taking it slow for us new bees. I can already plan on making some of these as gifts.
Love your folder!! I made a similar one today, big $$ saving tip: as the Bosal I use is 20", my bags will be 20" so I don't have the waste and with a 13.5 x 20"folder, I can put my stash of Fat Quarters to use
Stephanie… I was wondering, if you start at 20”, do you lose any significant amount when you quilt the panels? I dont think I would want to go much smaller than 20, but I do want to make several so not wasting bosal is a great idea.
@@tamiminor879 also, I bought Pellon FF79F2, flex foam 2 sided fusible stabilizer at Joanne's with a coupon and it was about $6 a yard and they have a wide version too
@@stephaniecampbellweitzman3591 this is weird, but I accidentally ordered the single side fusible Pellon. When it arrived, the bolt was labeled as such, but the paper insert that is rolled in n the roll said 2 sided and sure enough, it is two sided!
Thank you so very much for this tutorial. I made I think it was Ashley. This tutorial is so helpful now I see why you had us of some of the things we did. My next folder will be so much nicer now that I see what the end project is like. I am still using the other folder but my next one will look way more professional and I won't be ashamed to give it as a gift.
If only I could LIKE LIKE LIKE the video a few hundred times. What a fantastic tutorial and so many great hints and tips. Can't wait to sew one up. Cheers!
Liz, you are a wonderful teacher!! This is by far and away the best tutorial I have ever watched (for anything!) on RUclips. Thank you very much for making this video and for the written list as well. I feel like if I played and paused the video as I went, I could actually do this (something I would not have dreamed of attempting). Many thanks ❤️
Thank you for sharing this. I love the design. Plan to make one today. By the way, I first thought you were giving us "thumbs up" during your sewing tutorials until I realized that was one of the buttons on your machine. I still like the idea that you are always encouraging us during your videos.
Guess what? I've made 3 of these project folders and absolutely love them!! I messed up each time but was able to fix them and I used velcro instead of the magnet closure. Thanks so much for the tutorial!!
Wonderful video! Very well explained too! Easy to follow your instructions!! I love EVERYTHING By Annie!! Love her Soft & Stable/zippers by the yard too! Snaps. Name it she has it! You can never go wrong with any of By Annie products! ❤️❤️ Thank you!!
A year ago I bought this exact project pattern from someone and it was so complicated it came with 12 pages written and 2 hr video that as an experienced sewer I still had to fudge a couple parts. I don't know how I missed this when you put it up at first but you nailed it. Absolutely perfect instructions.
HACK that works! What works great as a turning tool are those a cleaned extra large Bubble Tea sized straw and a chopstick that fits in the straw. Stick the straw and the edge you want to start turning and start pushing the chopstick thru along with the straw and push it thru using the chopstick to turn it out. The straw seems to slide along fine and I've turned a 60 inch strap thru no problem. I'm sure it'd work fine for long but so far the things I've needed it for haven't been much larger. Oh I turn a large pillow case thru no problem. I've been using this hack for quite a few years. Recenty I've noticed they actually sell something simular for way more money. If you have an Asian supermarket in your city they sell packages for very inexpensive amount.
Thank you so much Liz! The vinyl was incredibly sticky on my sewing machine, so that was a real battle, but even a novice sewer like myself managed it🙃
Thank you for posting this tutorial! I've been wanting to make one of these project folders and this is perfect. I made a vinyl front project bag from another one of your other tutorials and I love it. It's my favorite project bag. Your tutorials are so easy to follow even for me. I appreciate all the measurements. You're a good teacher. I'm excited to start this.
Thanks for this wonderful tutorial! Great job! I appreciate that you use good quality fabrics and the Bosal. Makes the folder nice, sturdy and beautiful!!!
I love this! You did a great job explaining everything in a very concise manner. Be careful with the Frixion pens. They’re great but the lines can reappear if the item gets cold.
I cannot thank you enough for this tutorial. I have everything in my sewing room except the fusible foam. I went to Joanna today. They only had fusible foam on one side. I will make do. I would say if no one has the magnetic snaps you can use large sew on snaps. One pack at Joanns was $7. I would check Amazon I am off Monday so will be making one 😁😃😊
I thought that I must finish one design cross stitch before starting another. But when I see some cross stitchers who start stitching several designs in the same time, I finally think why not... It's a reason to create beautiful pouch for storage and I will stitching a design when I want... I will doing like you. 🥰🥰 Thanks american stitchers for showing me a funny way to stitch 🌹

Thank you for freely sharing this tutorial including the measurements and your tips and tricks. ❤️
