Totally agree man! That's why we redesigned this hanger to have a lip that is much taller. We are working on an update video as we have changed a few other things with this design, so we think it is worthy of a new video.
3 1/4” is the length on the simple bow hanger. If you wanna hang just your bow that should be fine, but if you wanna hang your quiver too, I would grab one of our xl bow hangers

Looks like a good system. Have you ever hung a crossbow on the bow hanger?
We haven't but we are working on a hook that is designed specifically for crossbows!
Would you feel comfortable hanging a rifle on the bow hanger?
For the bow hanger I prefer the standard bow hanger for hanging a gun off of it. That's just due to not needing the extra length of the XL bow hanger.
