When you drew your paper piecing to tape together (like your friend did). Do you cut on the outside template line from the original? Or the inner? I’m thinking the inner is your stitch line?
Yup - when glued/taped together it should look just like my sample at 5:33. The seam allowance (outside line) is only needed for the very outside edge of the block.

How did you get the paper printout of the design?
I made a copy of the page; taped the pieces together. Then photocopied THAT page enough times to make each corner unit.

In the tutorial she said she uses EQ8 design software to create the picture.
