I played the beta as well but at some stage as a casual gamer I got lost due to amount of gods and skins. At some point I had nfi who I was fighting anymore.
AAron Holmes-Black well she actually received a visual overdone during mid season 1, but she model overall stood the same. some animations were improved and made more clear compared to back then
"Transgressors Fate" isn't just a snare, it's also a ward. So a early point into that skill will reduce the times you have to turn around to watch your back.
Force, as to your question about jungling, usually in League of Legends (nothing is known about DotA on my part) the standard metagame includes a jungler, along with a solo-mid, solo-top, and two champions bot lane. top is a tanky bruiser, able to deal some damage and take some, mid is your squishy ability power carry, (mage type char usually) and your attack damage carry (ranged squishy highest dmg dealer) and support (healing or buffing) champs are bot. Artemis is like an AD carry.
As for jungling, in League of legends you usually have one person who plays a champion/god who has high healing abilities or can clear the jungle camps extremely fast. they then go to gank(go into lanes for kills suprising them) and use the jungle to stay leveled.
the jungling part depends on who you are playing and how the monsters scale, if the monsters are like in LoL and scale over time/how many times they have been killed then you can start jungling right away if you have the right items (may have to turn off autobuy) and just gank lanes when you have all buffs or if a lane is doing bad you can help them out
A little tip force: If you go into the camps they will tell you in the bottom right corner what that camp does. And a proper time to jungle is when you lane is pushed, or if you're a jungle hero(Kali, Arachene)
There are generally specified heroes/champions/gods used for "Jungling" who have high enough defense (consisting of shields, healing, high armor) or high enough damage to kill neutral mobs at level 1. As for when it is appropriate for others to jungle, it's often done when creep waves are pushed and there is no income available other than the jungle so you give neutral mobs to specific players.
The idea of jungling to acquire buffs is a LoL mechanic; however, jungling is often a way for a character to level up from the beginning of the game, rather than going to the lane for exp. This is a constant through all MOBA games, DoTA and it's spin off's, LoL and HoN. The best "time" to acquire buffs is completely dependent upon what character you are playing, if you are a "carry" (i.e the primary DPS) or if you are jungling!
In League, the current meta is to have one top lane,(left lane) one middle, two bot(right lane) and one person dedicated to the jungle. this looks more than a little bit different with the various buffs that are available. but as the game progresses, the people who need the buffs more, such as you needing physical damage and a melee needing armor, get their respective buffs whenever they are available.
Standard is normally one person will jungle from level one. One person will be mid and one person will be top. The last two people will be bottom. There is normally a jungle route that people find out to maximize the xp gain and quickness of gaining buffs. After a short amount of time the "jungler" will gank a lane to help kill the enemy champion or champions. This is why most moba's have some time of ward or item to reveal parts of the map when placed.
The jungle is pretty much used all game but some characters are specially built to where they can start off in the jungle, these characters usually consist of some kind of healing effect early game or can get lifesteal and slaughter the jungle minions in a quick manner.
Proper time to jungle In the other games is different, as someone said below certain heros or gods or champions have abilities specified for jungling, and those buffs aren't there, so the jungle is just for gold and exp when the lane is tough
Just so you know. You're supposed to use Transgressor's Fate to protect yourself in lane. It says you can place up to three of them as wards. What this means is that you can place them in the entrances to the jungle, or anywhere you want vision, really. And if an enemy goes by it, they will get snared, and you will know that they are there, giving you precious time to get away, or act accordingly. I would highly recommend getting one point in that skill earlier, and maxing it later.
Teleport back to base and stay a bit to quickly regenerate health and mana. Jungle when your lane is well pushed and you think you might get ganked, since there are many ways to reach you from behind, when you're close to the tower. Teleport back to base and then do the jungle from there for maximum security while jungling, or just go out of sight and then into the jungle for this or that random camp. Artemis' snare traps also act as wards, giving you minimap vision. Get 1 early because of this.
Well in LoL, 'jungling' is generally done by certain Champions from level one and depending on their needs, they give the jungle buffs to other members of the team. However I have seen in SMITE that being in the jungle is a bit different because it takes longer to get around it seems as well as you getting less exp(not sure about this). Thumbs up to force can see?
You tend to have one specific person set to jungle in games that have pathing like this. If you dont have someone in that role, then wait until you have nothing to do: your lane is pushed to tower, you dont want to engage, or you clear a camp before your creeps get back.
did u watch the video? the game is in closed beta right now so u can sign up for a key on their site. when the game is released it will be f2p like tribes ascend were you can buy stuff in the game if u want it faster
Going for buffs iswheneverneccesary but if your a dedicated jungle you would jungle buffs early and help the rest of your team get them later as well as ganking enemy champs when needed or called for
Anyways, the jungler's role is to clear all of the mob packs in the jungle (Ancient Golem-blue buff restors mana and gives cooldown reduction, wolves, wraiths, golems, Lizard Elder-red buff, auto attacks result in a slowing effect which burns target over time.. the jungler goes thru and kills this stuff from early-mid game, and gives blue buff to mana hungry mid character, red to ad carry for auto atk goodness. he/she ganks lanes to get kills/assists for his/her self and teammates.
In most mobas, you jungle with some heros from the start of the game, in order to create a solo lane for a team mate. that gives him solo XP and makes it so that the jungler could help out the other lanes in the form of warding and ganking... in this game though, form what i can see - i'd be harder to jungle properly from the start just because of the game mechanics. but i havent of course seen all the heroes (Gods) and i dont know their moves so i could be misstaken.
Jungling is usefull as soon as u can solo it, or if the team helps. On the other hands its good to communicate with the team. Defense buffs for tanks n stuff as excample :) Thanks for beein awesome btw Force :P
I think people should try jungling in this game though. It took quite a long time for the jungler meta to develop in LoL. For a long time, junglers were just a choice, and you didn't need one. Now, they're acknowledged to be vastly superior to any other option. You never know, it could happen in Smite too.
For those watching this that are new to the game. In this game last hitting isn't that important, and you want to do as much damage to the creeps as you can. Go for last hits if it's convenient but don't stand there and not attack the creeps waiting for the last hits.
From what i've seen so far jungling doesn't play quite the same roll in this compared to other mobas, you generally don't need someone jungling full time like I see in Lol. However, like was mentioned jungling while your lane is pushed is a great way to keep your gold flowing if you're not intent on ganking.
I would like to see more of this game Force. Like you I have never seen the allure of MOBA games before but for some weird reason SMITE has caught my attention.
DOTA 1 and 2 are also 3D. And no it's not first but third person ("over the shoulder") view. But basically if you've played any MOBA before you should get familiar with like 3-4 matches and then just learn the items, the map, the abilities. Or if you just want to have fun, leave the auto buy item/auto level up features on and focus on pushing and ganking. Wonderful. :)
Get the buffs on your carry ( god/hero/champion) that has a skill that gives him something % wise. Those are carries... for example 10 % more damge or crit etc those are carry heroes, heroes that at the start of the game are generally weak but at the end of the game they are so strong with farm. Also get buffs right before you want to push / teamfight. Why? well because it gives you an advantage, hyou don't need those buffs to creep, they work amazingly in teamfights and pushing :).
thats maybe right but the jungle is not early in late game except the baron buff like things in LoL as i see in Smite its damage absorber, health regen, and attack damage upgrading buffs are in jungle so actually you dont need it much except attack buff. Also junglers are made for ganking and they cant get out of jungle so they do neeed lifesteal bro its important.
How do you decide which games to talk about while you play and which do talk about after you've recorded it? For instance this versus the 3rd person shooter from yesterday (with the heat gun)
It was great watching you own them... I hope you play more of this. Also, could you make a vid for people not at all familiar with MOBA games, use this as an example and just go over details, types of heroes and stuff.
I agree with you on the fact that not every one will leave LoL but this looks pretty good and i like third person over the LoL view and the champs here look pretty cool too. LoL will always be the ish but this is kinda hot :)
Force, the only type of Moba game ive ever been interested im is HoN, but this will definitely be awesome, thanks for the preview, woulda never known about it any other way
The idea of the FPS kinda map DOTA game is cool. They need to really add different characters to each faction. I enjoy mutants or evil people, rather than just knights and stuff. I'm sure they'll be adding tons of gods and hopefully change the units on the map... kinda boring seeing knights and archers on both sides. But over all I like the idea in which these games are headed. +1 Force making a commentary while actually playing the game. It's extremely entertaining. I learned just by watching.
I know this might sound odd to some of you, but yes, some of us still pay money for our games, even if we don't need to and we just want support a certain company. And 7 dollars really isn't all that much when you make enough money to easily pay your own bills.
force nobody should be offended by the nerd or geek thing we all should wear that title loud and proud you just keep doing what you do man and know that this big country nerd HillBilly has your back
I don't think it'll kill LoL, but certainly looks worth a try. I always wondered what it'd be liike to be a range carry that could move AND attack at the same time XD
there is never a bad time to jungle so long as you can number 1. kill the creep alone without much trouble. 2. have help to kill the creep. the earlier the better.
actually jungling really depends on the game itself...every moba is different in terms of playstyle, strategy, learning curve etc... i play dota and certain heroes can jungle from level 1, certain can jungle midgame, certain ones can't really use the jungle at all...
Who’s watching this in 2024 and excited for SMITE 2?!?!
Wow, It's really amazing to see how smite has changed over the years
Tyrone Greyham yeah IKR it awesome now
Fouad Belferd
so much better now.
aldough ive heard season 1 was the best
now its not as good as it was before. Beta up to season 2 was good then it all went downhill
Yeah, now it's filled with collabs
Its 2024. Smite 2 has been announced. Such a gem of a MOBA no matter how volatile the community can be.
You can say that again😂
holy crap, it's crazy to see how far they've come since this video
Yeah...
gg wp! Nostalgia hit me :')
used to be a beta tester in 2012/13. still loving it, still playing it to the current day. one love
I played the beta as well but at some stage as a casual gamer I got lost due to amount of gods and skins. At some point I had nfi who I was fighting anymore.
5 years and Artemis' model hasn't been touched once.
AAron Holmes-Black well she actually received a visual overdone during mid season 1, but she model overall stood the same. some animations were improved and made more clear compared to back then
She is so beautiful, she shall never change
8 years*
The menus were so charming, especially the Social tab :D
This conquest map was the best
Hey force, I would love updates on this game every few weeks. this game looks like a lot of fun

Been playing smite since 2017, crazy to stumble upon this gem right here 10yrs later
Your commentary is funny as always! I would love to see more of Smite (especially with you :D)

"Get away from me! I'm smart enough to know that creeps can still be a pain in the ass no matter how strong you are" So true.
Hi
purchasing god pack 5 years ago was best decision for me.

Roflmao I love seeing Force playing this. He needs to do more of these so he can continue to get pumped then apologize for it XD.

little did we know this guy would grow up to become Barraccudda

can't wait for this game to get out of the beta stage
Who's here after playing Smite 2 Closed Alpha 24/7?

The Old Designs Actually Looks Like the Mythology Gods
you dont need a Beta Key, just pre purchase the cheapest bundle to get acces to the "Closed" Beta

the jungle fase is usually in mid game when the first towers are down and u are strong enough to get the buffs. But there is no rule to that.
Looks cool. I think the 3rd person helps people get a little more engaged so it might get a different user base than LoL or DOTA2.
Jungling is usefull as soon as u can solo it, or if the team helps. On the other hands its good to communicate with the team. Defense buffs for tanks n stuff as excample :) Thanks for beein awesome btw Force :P
This seems like a very interesting game. I like how the Minotaur is like an acient and roshan combined into one.
I think people should try jungling in this game though. It took quite a long time for the jungler meta to develop in LoL. For a long time, junglers were just a choice, and you didn't need one. Now, they're acknowledged to be vastly superior to any other option.

@gbwooram No denies and you even get some money if you don't last hit. It is more focused on combat and less on farming.

However, like was mentioned jungling while your lane is pushed is a great way to keep your gold flowing if you're not intent on ganking.
its crazy watching this so many years later and seeing an artemis get her 2 at level 1 XD
I would like to see more of this game Force. Like you I have never seen the allure of MOBA games before but for some weird reason SMITE has caught my attention.
damn i just loved you're reaction hahaha! force play more i would watch it for sure!
I just got me a beta key last night for this! I cannot wait to get home from work and play
Last hitting is beneficial, you get an extra 30% gold when you do, and over the span of 40 minutes that's A LOT of gold.
Nice match, nice video! Would like to see more SMITE gameplay in detail :)
DOTA 1 and 2 are also 3D. And no it's not first but third person ("over the shoulder") view.

the fg pit was so massive, and so were minions
Here because of smite 2 alpha, this was cool to see
I like this. It's fun to watch you play xD you should make more

You can get a beta key for about 7 dollars by preordering. Pretty cheap.
still in closed beta, but i am guessing they will do an open beta prior to launch
Never got into these types of games myself. But I'll download this once it's out.
Smite looks pretty nice. I'm curious how does this tpp look work for melee classes.
You actually get money regardless if you last hit or not. But you receive like 5-7 more gold if you last hit.
How do you keep finding these cool new games. Def gonna try out this one, and loooved quantum conondrum. Keep it up!
Force man this was excellent would love to see more :D

Here in 2023 😂 love watching how the game was played this long ago.
I would love to see more on SMITE. It looks like a great idea on a familiar game.
More gameplays plz force !! =) loved it !
the game looks pretty fun. ill play it after beta. trying to get a d3 beta key was too much and not looking to do that again.
and they usually have life steal passive or an active skill
Just finished my first match. This game is fun as hell.
To that jungling, In LoL and Dota some heroes(Gods in here) are able to even start there. And was happy to see that you enjoyed Moba game :-P
Force you sound just like me when i play these games XD. You rock man.
Force, the only type of Moba game ive ever been interested im is HoN, but this will definitely be awesome, thanks for the preview, woulda never known about it any other way
good video i enjoyed that one (and would like to see more if you're up for it and others want to as well)

+1 Force making a commentary while actually playing the game. It's extremely entertaining. I learned just by watching.
21:12 He's so pleased with himself for that kill that he teleports back to base and completely rolls out without getting mana first. lol
I know this might sound odd to some of you, but yes, some of us still pay money for our games, even if we don't need to and we just want support a certain company. And 7 dollars really isn't all that much when you make enough money to easily pay your own bills.
seems like a running gag that every moba has a monkeyking in it
@ForceSC2strategy Could you please do some Beta videos of "Secret World" an MMO that will come out soon?
Thanks, Force.
More Smite please.
force nobody should be offended by the nerd or geek thing we all should wear that title loud and proud you just keep doing what you do man and know that this big country nerd HillBilly has your back
God I loved this aesthetic.
I don't think it'll kill LoL, but certainly looks worth a try. I always wondered what it'd be liike to be a range carry that could move AND attack at the same time XD
there is never a bad time to jungle so long as you can number 1. kill the creep alone without much trouble. 2. have help to kill the creep. the earlier the better.
i know that was a typo but that made my day
This game looks fun, reminds me of Savage 2, which was a awesome game by the developers of HoN
I think I might try this one out.. I really liked this
LOL the boar at the end looks like a giant Pumba!!
''Impossible to hit a strafing targret''
Nope, you just gotta lead your hits.
um ya force do a few more of these. This is just too good to pass up.
wow looks amazing
i need this game :D
force we want for sure see more !!
actually jungling really depends on the game itself...every moba is different in terms of playstyle, strategy, learning curve etc...
i play dota and certain heroes can jungle from level 1, certain can jungle midgame, certain ones can't really use the jungle at all...
Cool looking game. Would like to see you play a bit more with some of the other gods.
