This is exactly why I love this channel. Where else do you get discussion of national teams in Concacaf, Conmebol, AFC, Uefa, and Caf?? Nice array of topics. Btw Jack, if you ever want to increase the hipster level of the channel even more, consider discussing Ofc football once they start playing more games haha 🧐😁
Tier 1 Japan -- overall squad depth is brilliant in Asia level, also they have several top tier players who can compete in Europe's football leagues. Tier 1.5~2 South Korea, Iran, Australia -- each team has its own strength, which is enough to overwhelm other Asian countries; but the overall squad is not as good as Japan. Tier 2.5 Saudi Arabia -- Most players are in the same league(even a same team), giving them great chemistry. I don't think they are as good as Tier 1 or 2 teams, but they always have a high chance to beat them. Tier 3 Qatar, UAE, Uzbekistan -- be considered as strong teams in Asia region. Not as good as those top five teams, but still strong teams. have some chance to beat upper level teams. Tier 4 Oman, Iraq -- The cut off for strong teams in Asia I think; also they are always dark horses in every single Asian football competitions (i.e world cup regional qualifiers, asian cup)
1. Japan 2. Iran 3. Australia 4. South Korea 5. Saudi Arabia 6. Uzbekistan 7. Iraq 8. Qatar 9. UAE 10. Oman 11. Jordan 12. Syria 13. Lebanon 14.Bahrain 15. Vietnam
Please make this kind of content again in the end of 2024 as a season recap. There are lots of surprises and changes at 2024 based on Asian Cup and World Cup Qualifiers. For me these are my top 15 throughout 2024 (December): 1. Japan 2. South Korea 3. Iran 4. Uzbekistan 5. Iraq 6. Australia 7. UAE 8. Jordan 9. Qatar 10. Indonesia 11. Saudi Arabia 12. Oman 13. Bahrain 14. China 15. Thailand That’s my list for 2024 🙌
What the Saudi League is doing rn reminds me of Liga Mx. Import tons of players to increase viewership/competitiveness/revenue at the cost of benching emerging talent/established Saudi players. What’s different is that these Saudi pockets are deep.
In my opinion Americans and Mexicans are complaining about the “easy” friendlies against Uzbekistan but I think there actually a really underrated nation they dont have those big players but play very well together as a team
I’ll be mad too if I was Mexico because they almost went from playing South Korea to now playing Uzbekistan that like going from Colombia to Guatemala.
@@GoatBallWatch Uzbekistan is far better than Guatemala but not competitive enough to rival Jamaica or Costa Rica. Problem is CONCACAF teams are largely overlooked by AFC teams yet AFC teams in many ways failed to analyse their CONCACAF opponents. This is why in the 2022 World Cup, CONCACAF won all three H2H meetings with AFC, including the shocking Costa Rican win over Japan. Uzbekistan, with that mindset, cannot defeat Guatemala in case of an official tournament. Maybe victory in youth World Cup or something else but certainly not the senior World Cup.
With the Australians it's just a mentality thing, in any sport they play they have this mindset of where they will fight to the death, they really fear no one
Totally agree with most of you're rankings and explanations!! I feel like the only team that can beat Japan is South Korea just like what Albert said regarding the rivalry and past history matches... From what i know also, in the past 13 years that both have faced each other, Son only played once and it was in the 2011 Asian Cup Semis where Korea lost to penalties... also Kim Min-jae has played in all games between this two sides and came with a win... so u might never know what the result will be like if they face each other in the 2023 Asian Cup with both of their Best XI... But other than that, i do believe that CURRENTLY, the top 3 is obviously Japan, Australia and South Korea. Can't wait for future Asian Content again!!
The first discussion will somewhat be solved when China and Vietnam play a friendly in China in October. And as China didn’t play a home match during the last qualifying campaign, we can see it as a return leg of the Lunar NY match
Dark horse is PRK 🇰🇵. Drew South Korea and beat Lebanon before dropping out of the last qualifiers due to COVID. They have a massive home advantage and won't lose much if at all at home. Sounds crazy but I'm expecting them to make it past the second round and possibly the next round after. Oh, and obviously we have no idea what's going on there so they could literally spawn a world class player and we'd have no idea.
So according to deadball tv there are only 15 countries in Asia Their football knowledge and enthusiasm in Asia " Dead" as their Channel name These guys really think Vietnam Vietnam is top 15 when they can't beat Thailand or Indonesia
When Japan 🇯🇵 played Oman 🇴🇲 they lost at home(in suita) and won away in muscat so it got split, so I was very surprised that Oman 🇴🇲 played poorly against us…probably because they haven’t really traveled outside of the Middle East in a while maybe
Japan is undisputedly no.1 of Asia. They are the biggest powerhouse of the continent and they performed well in World Cup 2022. No.2 will be South Korea, but the Koreans proved to be more fragile mentally than Japan. No.3 is Australia, having defied all predictions in Qatar made them a genuine threat, although to which extent is questionable. No.4 will be Saudi Arabia, although the Saudis have a tendency of botching themselves after taking early advantages, as seen with the elimination in 2022 World Cup to Poland and Mexico. No.5 gonna be Iran, since Iranian football is too corrupt yet Iran remains significantly superior compared to other Asian opponents save for the Big Five. Qatar, Iraq, the UAE, Oman, Uzbekistan will be from 6-10. Then you have China, Syria, Bahrain, Jordan, Vietnam, Thailand, Lebanon to follow. With this in mind, they are among top 15-20 teams of Asia at the moment.

@davidbowie5023 wtf, Uzbekistan is stronger than Canada, Costa Rica. They compete against Japan, Iran and Korea equally in Asian

what are y’all’s thoughts on wataru endo to liverpool? i think it’s honestly an underrated move
Insanely underrated imo. People online are really disrespecting Endo’s quality and are just mad that Liverpool didn’t get Caicedo.
