It sounds good... but it's definitely not loud. I have a muffler delete and resonator delete on my ML and it's still not loud enough to cause annoyance. You needa delete the secondary cats and resonator to truly make it gurgle and crackle. Otherwise this is something that only sounds "loud" if you're standing outside. People inside their cars wont even notice you.
Where ever you delete exaust or catalyst or resonator or any custom exaust work requires a finish with headers paint to ensure long lasting look, keep exaust cool, and better than headers wrap or Heat shield . Auto zone headers paint makes a factory like seal, finish and long life of exaust, and parts that get got like trans, or rear or different etc...
I been doing custom exaust just like that. Your welding is mad nice. Now all u need is auto zone headers or exaust paint to reduce heat in the summer. It also reduces rusting and trust me u will need the 1000 degree header paint for when u sitting in the summer. If daily driven, The heat will destroy rear axles or rear or drive shaft. Heat kills . Once u paint it it will look nice stay cool and you won't need a exaust heat shield if using headers paint
I had installed a valve controlled after market exhaust based of Hamann on a Benz GL500 (AMG body GL63 exhaust tips) 4.7L Bi-Turbo & deleted the resonator. Guess what Bro it sounds more mean then your GLE63 5.5L. If I delete the cats it will sound even a lot more loud but I dont wanna touch the cats as you have tinker with adjustments as you will get a check engine once you delete the cats. Anyway my GL500 murks you GLE63 sound wise
The journey of K&D naturally aspirated engines certainly do need back pressure but on a turbo car any restriction after the turbo is bad, this is why you see a lot of diesel pickups with huge 5” straight pipes, or how most turbo cars have big down pipes with no cats...

There's a HUUGE difference between volume and quality. The resonance at lower rpm sounds like the exhaust is made out of soda cans. It NEEDS blow through resonators at a minimum

I wanted to straight pipe my GL63, but I realized that there are times where I do want it to be quieter. Ended up going with a remote valved system
