HD radio and optical out and 3 way active crossover should have been included. I doubt anyone using these units are running the built in amplifier. That should be omitted in future models. I'm still buying the 9000 despite it's few shortcomings.
Dodged a bullet. I got the 6000 and I’ve had a ton of CarPlay connection problems. Seems to only be the 6000 according to Reddit. U get the 9000 yet? I’m in the process of exchanging and paying the difference for the 9000
Hello, For a combination of speakers XS-162ES at front & XS-160ES at rear, which is a suitable amplifier among XM-GS4 or XM-4ES? I require to get crystal clear sound only with some good bass. I am NOT looking for very loud sound. What are the extra things to get from XM-4ES over XM-GS4, is it only loudness or the output is far better in terms of clarity? Is it worth the price if I install XM-4ES or XM-GS4 will meet my requirements? Please let me know. Thanks!
I am experiencing Apple CarPlay issues. Specifically, Hey Siri/Siri not responding on my new Sony XAV-9000ES. Not to mention touchscreen accuracy issues as well. I am running the latest iOS 17.0.2 on my iPhone 13 Pro and my 9000ES is on firmware that was shipped out with (product released in stores this past month). I have reached out to Sony directly to push a firmware update to address this. If you're reading this Apple please address on your end as well. Thank you :)
I was surprised by the lack of HD radio also. I don't listen to the radio very much in my autos, but even if I am listening to the news I prefer HD. It just seems weird not to have it. However, I've got it ordered anyway along with their 8 channel ES amplifier and the ES 3 way component speaker set.

Nice! I think the Sony XAV-9000ES is pretty much the equivalent of the Alpine iLX-507. Both support Wireless High Resolution.
