  • My 1966 Seeburg SS-160 Stereo Showcase Jukebox was playing a 45 RPM record and I could tell something was wrong. It sounded like it was not centered on the spindle and was skipping. I ejected the record and it wedged half way on the turntable. I had to force it back into the record cradle. After that it would not scan for another record, it would just sit and jump like it was trying to engage the clutch.
Turns out the record was badly warped and not siting all the way in it's cradle holding the safety plunger out keeping the clutch from engaging. So the whole problem was caused by a warped record. The mystery is how did the record get warped.
