Hello, Kevin! Happy New year! Thanks for helping people learn English, appreciate it. I wanted to ask about the name you used along with hear + about, you said: have you ever heard about Gengiz Khan... Why the Gs are pronounced not like in the alphabet, as far as I know, we pronounce G like in the alphabet if it is before, e,i,y, but here you said it differently, can you explain it to me? Thanks.
he used "of" not "about" with the name. Gengiz Khan is not an English name obviously. I bet it was transliterated from the origin language long time ago and its pronounciation was taken close to the original one, so there is no rule, it can be considered an exeption. I think a native English speaker might not even read it correctly without knowing the true pronounciation, so Kevin either knew the pronounciation before, from history classes in school for instance, or he looked it up in the dictionary before making the video.
@@jakypbeishenaliev7738 I understood you clearly. I think you didn't get the point. There is no rule for this, you just need to know beforehand or find out the pronounciation and just learn it as it is. There are a lot of other words in English that you just need to learn how to say them, as they don't follow any rules. That is a downside of English unfortunatelly.
@@jakypbeishenaliev7738 Many letters in English alphabet have two or even three sounds and in some cases there is no rule saying which sound is needed in a particular word for that letter, just learn the word as it is.
Hi Kevin, your lessons are very interesting I have learned a Lot with them for many time. Iam studying English for your years but Iam not fluenty yet, what advices do You may give me US..??ok. Thanks and SEE You.
Read as much as you can. I have students who love the My Weird School series, because it offers a challenge and it's fun to read (It's about a boy who hates school).
Thank you very much for your detailed lesson ✨ As a Mongolian girl, I was surprised that you mentioned the Mongolian Emperor and we also have the modern Mongolian band called The HU (it is pronounced like the Who) . ❤
I enjoyed looking into other words with “all” pronounced the same as in “allergy”. There are more other words than I thought I could find; alligator, mallet, rally, gallery, gallop, valley, pallet, ballot, Halloween
I heard of 'English for Everyone' I heard about 'English for Everyone' being the best channel on RUclips in the world for learning English' I haven't heard of the band The Who My favorite band is 'los tigres del Norte ' Have you ever heard of the band 'los tigres del norte'?"

@pashu16af You misunderstood me, I was asking Kevin about the letter "G" ... Why it wasn't pronounced like in the alphabet...
Some words borrowed from other languages are not pronounced according to the English "rules." BTW, what about the word 'get'? 🙂

Is it Southern accent?
He sounds like he's from the midwest. the Southern accent has more of a 'twang' sound to it.
